Nice 24h that services that array of Indian and western food. Pricing is reasonable for the portion served. Staff adhere strictly to social distancing ruling so no worries of been too near to other diners.

I have to say the service is good but I kinda like spring leaf better. I like my prata on the crispy side. Butter chicken wasn't the best either. Even when it wasn't freshly made it took a long time to come. We got a variety but mostly the basics. Egg prata was better than the plain. Prata bom was the best tho. The teh ais was really sweet might want to ask for lesser sugar if that's what you prefer.

Good choice for families craving for some good ol' prata, murtabak, tissue prata and teh-tarik. Prata is not as crispy and good as Spring Leaf's but their curry gravy is not too bad. I wouldn't recommend their butter chicken briyani - meat was tough, gravy was too sweet and kids weren't able to work through half the dish. I prefer their briyani standard in the past. It's a joint we frequent but somehow food standards seem to have dipped, prices have gone up but service-wise, no complaints. Ample parking across the road.

Location is quite secluded and no parking available nearby. Though some of the servers have some kind of weird attitude. But great ambience. Near botanic gardens. Food was freshly served and the drink was not too sweet. Best lamb shank with awesome briyani at reasonable price.

A decent place to eat especially supper. Afternoon is normally quiet and good for tea. Food is generally ok though the putu mayam strangely do not come with the coconut shavings but channa. But it’s still good. Pratas are generally good including the set lunch. Biryani taste is not my type though. Tea halia and masala are great!! Service is generally good especially with the younger chaps. After lunch hours tend to be slower. Can be warm during the afternoon in some parts of the shop. Prices are also reasonable.

The egg prata & prata kosong are soft eventhough we requested for extra crispy. The chicken murtabak rates 4/10, soft and lackluster. The soup kambing (mutton soup) was so diluted & watery. Like it had water added to it, rate it 1/10 as it lack any soup kambing tastes, the meat was not that great either. Not a repeat unfortunately.

Great old school diner family vibe. Usual favorites and dishes to make every family member happy. Pan Asian and Western menu. I had the seafood prata which was tasty. I wanted to try the Milo shake but was already full. Service was courteous. Lots of patrons. Highly recommended

We have patronised Mr Prata Evans Road for since "forever". When we would sit in chairs outside under trees with dim lights to when the outside floor was concrete and renovated with tubelights till what it is now - a spacious inside seating. The food has not changed though. Mee Goreng Mutton (in photo) with a egg topping with a side of chicken 65 (in photo) is my absolute favourite If you want to deviate from the traditional egg, cheese, plain prata, the Chip Chop Prata (Chicken) (in photo) is a very good alternative. There are lots of other options that I have not tried. Their Mutton Murtabak , Italian Prata (with mushroom and cheese) are good too. If you are visiting in a group, sharing a few dishes make it quite a cosy affair. Biryanis are not hot or spicy and quite ok. I have been there for breakfast as well and their Nasi lemak was made with basmati rice (separate grains). That was quite unique. Dosas and puri set were good. There are some set meals as well, quite reasonable and come with a lot of food There are actually so many options to choose from! Mr Prata is one of those few casual dining places that does not serve watery iced milo. If you are indulging yourself with sugar, it is very satisfying indeed. For children, they serve generously prepared Milo Dinosaurs and Godzillas My children have moved from Primary School to jobs and over the years servers have moved in and out. Some have perhaps been there for 10 years now. They are friendly and attentive and the turn around is mostly fast. It is crowded in the evenings though, especially in the weekends when along with player patrons from across the road, families and friends come to eat here too. The best thing about Mr Prata Evans Road is, it is open till very late at night. If for some reason you are hungry at night, this is great place for supper

An extensive ala carte menu - murtabaks, pratas, thosai, briyani and more. The ginger tea is strong and not overly sweet. Meal for 2 comprising 2 egg pratas, mutton Mysore (south Indian curry), a Roti John and 2 teh halia cost $20.80. Cash or NETS payment modes only. Opens 7am to 1am most days (2am on Saturday). Convenient parking.

I have to admit I was totally disappointed by this place. I guess I was assuming the food here would be better than most but it wasn't. Firstly the location is not very good as it requires a car to get to easily. Taking a bus results on 5-7 minutes walk. My friends ordered the prata and other dishes and I decided to try the mutton Mysore briyani dish. Honestly it was pretty bad. The rice had no flavor whatsoever and it was dry and hard to chew. I could barely taste the spices in the rice too. The mutton came on a separate dish and it was quite good. It saved this dish from being a total failure. I was hoping to get more mutton so that I could tolerate the rice better. Service was mostly very brusque in my opinion but the food did get delivered quickly. The menu was large and diverse but I think they miss on the little things that result in the low rating. For the price I think I will pass.

If you're looking for cheap eats at all hours of the day then this is the place. After our flight was delayed this was the closest place we could find that was open. Prices Are very reasonable and good portions. Lots of dishes to choose from too.

I hate to agree with Cherrylene, but let's face it, she's right most of the time. I hate giving out negative reviews, but I think you should be aware that there are other options nearby with better food. I think I've done my due diligence coming here regularly over the last year to make sure my impressions of the food were correct. The food indeed is mediocre at best and in some instances, not really worth the calories. But then again, if you're hung over or just need to stuff your face after a night of drunken debauchery, the last thing you're counting is calories...in which case, this place will be just as good as any for a pit stop before falling unconscious into bed. I believe that the low watermark for an establishment with aspirations of Indian-Muslim culinary credibility should be the mutton murtabak. Mr Prata's is doughy and the mutton is unrecognizably mealy. It could be chicken...you just can't tell. This usually goes well with a fish curry; theirs is watery and recognizable only as fish curry if you really pay attention. There is no hint of tamarind or fish and the consistency is that of day-old dishwater. Let me remind you that these observations are not based on a single encounter, but a dozen visits over the last year. Yes, the ambience is nice enough. Al fresco seating is pleasant and clean and you don't have to sit near a drain or a dumpster. And yes, it is open 24hrs daily. Other than that, there isn't much else to recommend Mr Prata over Adam Road Food Centre, Newton down the street or Upper Bukit Timah 15 mins away.

One thing I like about this place is their self-serve payment station. You get your receipt from the staff, take it to the machine, scan and pay. Fuss-free and easy. That, and that it's near CCAB, you can simply walk over after your sports match for a meal. But... Everything else would turn me away from this place. - Pretty dishonest business. Prices stated on the menu and what you're actually charged is different. The staff just shrugged it off, stating the prices we were charged are right. (We noticed this for our drinks) - Service is horrible... The staff were mostly curt and unfriendly. Didn't bother to double check our orders and just walked away when we weren't even done. My bf was asking between two items, and the staff just scribbled something and walked off. We had to go up to one of them to clarify the order before he keyed them in, fortunately we did because he ordered both items when we didn't even ask for both! - So disappointed with the food too. Curry was lacking in flavour and the prata itself was too chewy. Maggi goreng was ok at best. Definitely will not recommend, there are better places out there.

Honestly, the food at Mr Prata is below average, sometimes bordering on terrible. It's not exactly cheap either (there's GST). With Adam Road Food Centre pretty near by, I would recommend heading over there if you were really craving some good Indian-Muslim food. However, if you are just looking for a place to chill with friends while sipping teh-o bing then this is not a half-bad location. It's quiet later in the evening and has a comfortable al fresco setting. If you drive, you can park your car right in front of the place. I've never seen a parking attendant there. Be warned though, your teh-o ping might be watered down and sugary.

This is one of those places where I would just come at night and eat outside just so that I can't see how dirty this place actually is. It's dirty and dingy and they charge GST. I come for the dirt cheap prices of prata and the $5.00 chicken prata meal. They also have good murtabak. Their lime drink is too sweet! Nothing worth the trek over but if you're a student at NUS and need a break from the canteen, this is a good option.

Mixed feelings .. on one hand it's twenty four hours and right one kilometer away but on the other sometimes it sucks and food god knows why they use their stupid payment system

Mr Prata near the Botanic Gardens is open 24 hours a day. I like coming here because the ambience is a lot better than other prata places. Instead of a stuffy, dirty and crowded place, they have a nice outdoor seating full of trees. It's a pleasant experience dining here. And their food is really good too! I love their because its crispy, fluffy and not oily at all--something that's hard to find here. They have every kind of prata imaginable--even Italian prata! They also serve maggi and nasi goring, curries and dosa. In the daytime they have North Indian food too. Only thing about this place is that its hard to get here without a car since its in a side road and cabs don't pass by too often and there is no bustop on the road. Worth the trek though.

The rating of this place varies with the time of day. If you go here for lunch on a regular weekday/weekend, it kinda sucks. Plastic chairs and tables, very dirty toilets and also dirty and messy kitchen. The place screams diahrea the day after. However, if you go here on a saturday/sunday morning around 3-4 AM, this place is awesome and so much better than spice. Quiet, fast service, cheap and delicious prata!! They also have plenty other dishes, wish I have never tried.

Very poor service and quality of food. The waiters don't know their menu and when asked for hummus, the Chinese waitress handed us coconut chutney (that's provided for dosas) and adamantly claimed that to be hummus. She also persistently insisted on changing our orders to dosas and idllis just because we are Indians. In terms of the food quality, they served us an over cooked chicken breast which was poorly seasoned and hard as a rock. When asked to change, the cashier informed us that we'll have to purchase subsequent orders and it won't be change for free. By the way, it was not just the chicken that was bland the fajitas ordered by my brother was tasteless. Next, regarding the cleanliness of the place, the menu books had dried rice sticking on them and curries poured on the pages. The washing and rest room area was beyond nasty. Smelled like urine, trash bin overflowed with napkins and clogged sinks with saliva floating around. We would NEVER patronize at this messed up place ever again.

Mr. Prata. Considering the area, Mr. Prata is one of the cheapest options around. You can get a prata and drink for just a few dollars. It isn't fancy by any means, and service isn't particularly friendly, but it is a casual affordable stop right outside the Botanical Gardens.

My favorite restraunt in SG. I had gone their at least 100 times, no joke. The food is amazing and the staff is very friendly. They are many meals but the drink Milo Spin is one of a kind.

Always good and cheap. S$1.70 for thosai (my favorite) and S$2.50 for cheese roti prata at a sit-down restaurant between our home and Botanic Gardens - how can you go wrong? We will miss places like Mr. Prata when we leave Singapore!

Horrible experience. Waited for 1 hr for 2 plain pratas. Orders get jumped by customers who order more fanciful prata. High noise volume after renovation with air-conditioning. I cancelled my order with no prata insight after 1 hour.

Very very good paratha. Super flaky and moist. I got the regular paratha and my friend got the egg and cheese. Both were excellent - the eggs in the egg/cheese were very fluffy and made the paratha rich and delicious. The regular paratha was tasty and excellent. The fish curry they come with is delicious. We also ordered chicken curry gravy on the side and it had even better spices and taste. Altogether very good paratha and I like that it's open 24/7.

A great place to eat when you're hungover or just want to chat with friends 'til early morning. It has an extensive menu of prata - whatever fillings you can dream of - and also typical mamak food and drinks like fried rice, fried noodle, milo, teh tarik, bandong. Don't expect healthy food and clean, quiet environment here although the place is in the middle of neighborhood which makes finding public transport a bit hard - bus or taxi are your best bet. This place is just a feel good place where you can talk as loud as you can while eating a good, greasy, cheap prata like it's supposed to be made.

Decent Prata, service without a smile, and pray that you don't need to go to the bathroom.

This is a complaint to be registered to all who is visiting Mr.Parata, Reservoir Road branch. My son is going for tuition at Mavis which is close to the shop and for lunch we went to Mr Parata and ordered two egg parata for my son only as he had another lesson at 1:15 pm and there was only 30min in between to have his lunch. Normally we take him to Mcdonald's. This happened on 24th May 2015 at 12: 45 pm , the person who took the order did not inform me that there was a long Q of orders and we waited for 20 min then I realized that something was wrong and when I approached the counter the lady told me that it will take another 10 min, which means jus tfor 2 egg parata I need to wait for 30min which is totally absurd, Immediately I went to Mcdonalds bought a burger. Mr Parata service is hopeless and very rude when approached. If you are in a hurry better avoid Mr Parata. thanks

Horrible Service for Terrible Food!! I had tried this place a few months ago. The food was horrible and not authentic at all! (yes, I'm a food caterer and I can tell.) Today, when I was at the NUS Bukit Timah Campus nearby, I had this sudden craving for prata. I wanted to give this place the benefit of doubt. I was kind enough to give them one more chance to compensate for the so called food that was served the previous time, but my magnanimity was not reciprocated! I did not have cash, which is why as soon as I entered the place, I asked if I can pay by NETS and to my surprise they agreed. With this delight, I placed my order and proceeded to the billing counter to make the payment. Unfortunately, the NETS machine kept declining my payment so this middle-aged woman at the counter asked me to wait in the side as there were other customers who were lining to pay. Meanwhile, my order was ready and the waiter came near me to pass the food packet. I was about to tell him that I had not paid for it yet when this woman at the billing counter yelled at the top of her voice, "Eh, Don't give him lah! He hasn't paid yet!". Then I asked her to try once again, but it failed. She then passed my card to her coworker and rudely said, "This boy doesn't have money, you try lah!". He then asked me if I had entered the PIN correctly. I said, "yes, and I have enough money in my bank account". When it failed again, he returned my card to me and said, "It's not working!". I then had to walk two kilometers to the nearby ATM where I used the same card and PIN to withdraw cash (so even SG50 baby knows clearly who is at fault). By then, I no longer had the mood to eat the food and I was super upset, NOT because of the errors in NETS payment machine. Unfortunate incidents like these can happen at times, but the least that the people at the counter could do is not be rude and obnoxious to make everything even worse. And especially, I strongly feel that the people in the food industry should not see it as a mere business, but a service and a very noble one! One must remember that we are serving people more than food, we are serving them love, care and compassion. Or at least that's what I do for the people I cater to. And although one one cannot expect the same from such businesspeople who lack passion for food and compassion for the humans eating it, it is high time for a change in their attitude. Later, I went back to the restaurant, made the payment by cash and walked away without collecting the cold food lying at the counter. Why? Coz it's not food anymore, but a bunch of ingredients mixed tastelessly with arrogance and hatred. Also, I did it to give them a chance to do some self-reflection, which they most probably won't!

Very bad service. we ordered Mysore mutton and we got curry mutton instead and lying to us it's Mysore mutton and also ignored some of our orders even we repeated it twice and failed to it take down, that's surprising.
