I placed an order online and did not realize it was 20 mins before they closed. After I submitted my order and noticed it was so close to closing, My daughter called to make sure they received our order and the guy that answered the phone was sooo nice about it. Our order had just came through. He told us it would be 15 mins. We picked it up within that 15 mins and EVERYTHING was so hot and fresh and delicious!!!! It was better than I ever thought it could be with it being 20 mins from them closing!! We ordered pork fried rice, pork pancit, beef egg foo young, an boba, and 2 sweet and sour chicken dinners with fried rice. The dinners came with 1 egg roll and 1 crab rangoon. The egg roll and crab rangoon maintained their crispiness almost 2 hours after picking up the food. I just can not say it enough how hot, fresh, and delicious this food was!!! I highly recommend this place if you have that Chinese food craving!!! This will be my “go to” place from now on!!!!! The picture attached is a plate of food that I put together with egg foo young, pork fried rice, and pork pancit. (I’m not a food artist so don’t judge me lol). Before I end this review, I have to mention the large portions!!!!! Like wow!! I’ll have leftovers at least through the weekend!!!

Google
Omg… best crab ragoons and egg rolls I ever had! All the food was so tasty… fried rice is so flavorful and the beef is so tender in Mongolian beef!!! Try this place, you will not regret it!

Google
The best and freshest Chinese food I've had in a long time. The lunch special was a heavy plate, enough for 2 people! The pineapple coconut smoothie was cute and delicious! My food was packed well with care and everything I would need. Staff was very nice!! Will return!

Google
Best Chinese food in the Carpentersville, Huntley, Algonquin, Pingree Grove, Dundee area There right in front of Woodman‘s on Randall Road. Highly recommend their lunch and dinner specials. I’ve eaten there plenty of times very very clean place with an open kitchen, and the owners are great people. I recommend there homemade Egg Rolls, and the Crab Rangoon. If you see something that’s not on the menu, that’s authentic I’m sure they can make it. Definitely when you’re there you have to get a Boba The strawberry banana is my favorite. mr. wok keep up the good work, and keep the great food coming.

Google
We did a walkin order for BBQ Pork and Vegetable Fried Rice. The BBQ Pork was so so good! Just the right amount of BBQ sauce. Very tender also. Vegetable Fried Rice had a good amount of vegetables and tasted very very good. I highly recommend this Chinese restaurant. The owner was very accommodating.

Yesterday was our first visit to Mr. Wok and we had a great experience. I believe the gentleman we spoke to was the owner and he was extremely personable and we enjoyed chatting with him. We ordered our standard order we always get at a Chinese restaurant and it was the best we’ve had anywhere. It was evident that food quality and cleanliness are most important to the management. We appreciated the wonderful meal we had and look forward to our next visit.

Google
Recently moved back from Colorado and have gone years without a good place for boba, egg rolls and crab Rangoons. This place was a 10/10! The atmosphere was great the employees/owners were phenomenal we had an allergy issue and they right away stepped in wanting to accommodate us which is very rare for places to jump in fast wanting to help accommodate. Definitely recommend this place we will for sure be back! Not to mention the bobo drink containers were soo adorable!

Google
The new owners of Mr. Wok are phenomenal, the food, the quality the freshness has really changed in the last month since the new owner Steve took over. The best Chinese food in the area. Give this place a try you’ll love it, great food. The eggrolls are Magnificent. The family owned a well-known Chinese restaurant on the northwest side of Chicago for over 30 years. And Steve’s bringing it to Carpentersville.

Yelp
Ordered lunch. Don't normally get lunch or delivery. The food came and was hot and tasty. I got the crab Rangoon , and lunch special Mongolian beef with fried rice and egg roll. It was so yummy. I would definitely eat there again. The carb was in the crab Rangoon Lotta places usually skimp on that part but you could see it. You couldn't taste it. It was yummy. Very good. Also very tasty. Definitely believe they use peanut butter so for those allergy people don't recommend it and the Mongolian beef good flavor not overly spicy just right. The fried rice had good flavor. It wasn't just soy sauce coated rice And we definitely plan on being there again.

Yelp
I had great a light lunch. Food was hot and tasted great. The staff was delightful And the facility was clean.

Yelp
Not bad, good flavors but very dry.. the breading on the chicken wasn't crispy and fresh. Slightly disappointed in the portion size for the price as well. Wanted to give it a try to see what all the hype in the area was about. Not impressed. Will continue getting my Chinese takeout from Ying & Yangs.

Tam C.

Yelp
We ordered the Singapore noodles (YUM), satay chicken (), the chicken curry ((yellow) YUM, a little spicy, so good)), steamed vegetables (good) and hot and sour soup (which tasted ok on its own by tastes a little weird in conjunction with everything else). Based on the reviews and the recommendations, we decided to try Mr Wok. This is the BEST Chinese food in the local area. We've always been reluctant to try Chinese around here because everything is fair to middling. We were so pleasantly surprised. We will be ordering again and again and again.

Alyx A.

Yelp
Stopped by and got some boba for the kiddo and I. We loved it! The crab Rangoon was Coming back again to try more!
google avatar

J I.

Yelp
Best food ever. Crab Rangoon the best along with the egg rolls. Had the Mongolian beef. Beef was so tender. Will certainly order from there again.

Julie N.

Yelp
Probably the best crab rangoons i ever had in my life. Crispy and the filling is so good. Get the salt & pepper chicken! I couldn't take a photo because we all demolished it. I recommend this place! They have good service and the portions are amazing for the prices.

Milo B.

Yelp
Amazing food. Carry out quite often. Always well prepared and tasty. The staff is very friendly.

Yelp
Extremely good food and service. We order a large of the chicken fried rice, and a large of the low mien noodles. My husband and I get 2 large meals each out of it and it's less than $35 including the tip. I usually hate left overs, but their food warmed up even 2-3 days later is still just as good as the day you buy it. None of it goes to waste. We've become regulars here over the last few months and the friendly atmosphere is a plus!

Larry W.

Yelp
I regretfully have to give this a low review. I loved Mr wok, and have loved Mr wok for so many years. Their food used to be delicious and portions fair. The last 2 times I have ordered the food has been out of sorts. The sesame chicken tasted like rancid oil and had no flavor. The honey shrimp maybe had a tablespoon of sauce for the order. The egg foo young was swimming in oil and the gravy had no flavor. The cost has gone up, which normally I wouldn't mind if the food was delicious, but it was just a waste of money because it's not good and you cannot fix rancid oil taste. I hope the owners see this and fix the issues. Id really love to give this a 5 star in the future.

Yelp
The NEW OWNERSHIP of Mr. Wok is phenomenal. The food, the quality the freshness has really changed in the last month since the new owner Steve took over. The best Chinese food in the area. Give this place a try you'll love it, and I'll repeat myself great food. The Egg Rolls and Crab Rangoon are Magnificent, authentic Chinese recipe. The family owned a well-known Chinese restaurant on the northwest side of Chicago for over 30 years. And Steve's bringing the same recipes freshness and Quality to Carpentersville.

Yelp
Came here for the second time and got Thai iced tea. The I ordered it wrong but they happily remade it for me no problem. I work in customer service so I appreciate the kind workers. The tea is delicious as well Can't wait to try the food

Alex L.

Yelp
I want to say that the service was superb, very sweet and attentive. The waut time for food was average. Pretty quick! And you can taste that the ingredients used are premium ingredients. And it was made with love. So delicious. The bobA TEAS are amazing. Like actually the best I've had in a long time! I love her logo the "through the boba glass" phrase is so cute with direct ties to Alice in wonderland/through the looking glass. And I love every thing about it. I could be best friends with the lady who was managing it. If she let me! Lol but yes. I would recommend and I will be returning for many times to come. Thank you Mr wok!

Susan I.

Wonton egg drop soup. - excellent Will definitely be ordering again from them.

Yelp
The comment one person left of the screaming old woman sounded just like the mr wok that was off Randall close to rt90. Makes me think they moved. If it is the same place, go there if you like fingernails on a chalk board.

Sharon B.

Yelp
I understand that this restaurant has new owners/management and had heard positive vibes so thought we would venture there today. It is located in a strip mall near the Woodmans grocery store on Randall road in Carpentersville. We ordered egg rolls and Mongolian Beef/Shrimp/Chicken w/rice. Eggrolls were very crisp and tasty. The Mongolian dish was incredible..beef and chicken amazingly tender and the shrimp were large and crisp. The owner asked if we liked it spicy, we told him to go for it. It was not overpowering and the large fresh mushrooms and onions in the dish were amazing. We will definitely be back even if it's a drive.

Krissy M.

Yelp
Don't ask for SOY SAUCE OR HOT MUSTARD packets! I ordered $60 in Chinese food online I asked for 10 individual soy sauce & 10 hot mustard packets. BIG MISTAKE! 5 minutes after placing my order, a very rude woman called me stating I asked for too many packets. Why do you need so many?" I canceled our order immediately The food is good, but customer service was horrible.

Yelp
My friend and I stopped in for a spur of the moment Chinese food night, and we are so glad we did! We were welcomed with smiles and they happily answered any questions we had. The sesame and general tao's chicken are to die for, we finished our meal with some delicious milk tea. We will definitely be back in the near future!

Michael M.

Yelp
Ordered a Boba tea drink yesterday and got no Boba balls, didn't notice til I got to the bottom of the drink and was back home.

Michelle S.

Yelp
Every dish has the same orangish red color and flavor -- if you consider grease a flavor. The chicken in the Kung Pao Chicken looked like rubbery chicken flavored dog treats. The sweet and sour chicken was ice cold, dried out and I don't think there was even chicken in the breading. The only reason for one star is because the white rice wasn't bad.
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
The fried rice was terrible. It was all mushy and over cooked and 3/4 of the pork was literally all fat. I had to throw it out in fear I would get sick.

Gary K.

Yelp
We heard that this was the family that owned Lin's Garden in Niles many years ago. They had the best egg rolls on earth and the food was always fresh. We traveled all the way from the Wisconsin border to check it out. It did not disappoint. The food was terrific - fresh, tasty, and just the way remember it. And the eggrolls were to die for - every bit as good as Lin's. This is a hidden gem that was well worth the trip. Highly recommended!!!

Isabella D.

Yelp
Great food, but very small portion sizes. Better off going to another Chinese food place
google avatar

Mary D.

Yelp
We ordered our dinner and received fried rice with it. The fried rice was gummy very brown and nothing in it. No egg or vegetables nothing. Your vegetable egg fu young was like a giant pan cake cut in half. It had broccoli and peas in it. Barely any bean sprouts. Very disappointing. The crab Rangoon was good no crab of course. We won't be ordering from them anymore.

Mich H.

Yelp
Me and my boyfriend decided to stop by this hidden gem, and when we tell you the Vegetable Yaki Udon was delicious! They also have boba and the mango one we got was fire

Marlo P.

Yelp
Food was great aside from hot food being served in styrofoam. But some female employee was screaming and fighting with the other employees for the entire 20 mins I was in there.

Nicolette R.

Yelp
The owner literally followed me out to my car and started screaming and yelling at me in front of my husband and 6 year old son. She scared my kid because she wouldn't leave us alone. All because they messed up my drink and had to make me a new one and she wasn't happy about it? She wouldn't leave me and my family alone while we were in the parking lot, she walked out of the restaurant just to yell, swear and harass us because they had to fix a wrong drink? I've never met someone so mentally unstable, especially an owner of a business. At one point my husband and I just started laughing because we just couldn't believe what was happening, she wouldn't leave us alone or go back in the restaurant. We were talking to each other at my car in the parking lot and she kept walking closer to my car to try and continue to yell at us?? She was also yelling at one of her employees for like 5 minutes while we were waiting 20 min for our drinks when we first got there. Berating and disrespecting him loudly in front of a restaurant full of people. I literally apologized to the employee after for her yelling at him in front of a bunch of people. Maybe that's what set her off, she didn't like that I stood up for the employee she was screaming at in front of everyone. This wasn't just a bad restaurant experience, this was actually one of the weirdest, craziest encounters I've had with an individual in general. She's unhinged and I wouldn't go near this place, especially with kids. This lady needs to go get help. I attached a pic of her below.

Timothy P.

Yelp
I have tried to order from Mr. Wok on DoorDash twice and both times the order has been canceled by them. The last time the driver was at the store to pick up and they just told him that the order can't be filled. The driver from DoorDash called me apologizing that he cannot fulfill the order. Absolutely ridiculous. Don't be on DoorDash if you're not going to take the orders!!!

T D.

Yelp
Incredible! Fast, super friendly and literally the best tasting option in this area (I've tried them all)!
google avatar

Dagmara S.

Yelp
I have order from this restaurant several times thru DoorDash and the food was great, never had issues. Than they disappeared for some time, I was sad, but I get it pandemic maybe not much business. I recently noticed them back on door dash so on Super Bowl Sunday I decided to order from them. The food to me tasted good. Nothing weird about it. The next day I woke up to Stomach aches chills fever and puking the food out and diarrhea. It's Wednesday and I am Still shitting my brains out. I order crab Ragun shrimp fried rice and orange chicken. I am 100 % sure crab meat was old because when I was puking it smell like crab raggon. Unfortunately I will never order from them again.

Tony M.

Yelp
Not a good experience. Standing by the register wanting to order but ignored. Loud yelling at each other. The older lady went in front of me a few times but did not look at me and instead yell out to other people waiting for their orders the yell again at the other staff. I waited close to 10 minutes standing there when the same lady asked me if want to order and it'll take half an hour. I said no thank you and she replied "that's fine" and waked away. I see this place when I'm in the area and always wanted to try it but now I know to avoid this rude establishment. "Mr Wok should be more like Mrs Wok.

Matthew M.

Yelp
This was the most awkward experience of my life picking up my food. I sat down in the restaurant for about 20 minutes listening to the owners YELL at each other the whole time. They spoke in Chinese so I don't know what they were saying but let me tell you this... it didn't sound good. Would not recommend. They need to learn how to act when customers are inside. No idea what the food tastes like yet but my experience is already ruined.

Theresa O.

Yelp
We love Mr. Wok, it's our favorite Chinese food place in the area and we were so happy to see it reopened even closer to our house! They have an expanded menu now with poke bowls and bubble tea, so we are super excited about that. They have the BEST crab Rangoon!

Esmae M.

Yelp
I love this place. The food is good, the people are so nice to us and they even have boba now! Definitely recommend

Aleena M.

Yelp
Terrible customer service and food. We called and the guy told my grandma "fuck you" because of her complaint. This place sucks, this business isn't going to last long.

Fern M.

Yelp
Our favorite Asian restaurant in the area. Love their poke bowls - we think they taste way better than Poke Bros or Fuji cajun. Their 3 protein poke bowl is incredible. The menu has a nice variety. Tip: if ordering from door dash or a third party, try to give them a call the restaurant to clarify the instructions because door dash does not have the correct options on their website. The owner is very understanding and accommodating. We order from them almost weekly. Love their food.
