Second time here. The best option in the “Amish area” for not only buffet but also full menu! Not one complaint from our group. Always get seated quick even when they are packed. My favorite was the salmon and the chicken

I really enjoyed my visit to Mrs Yoder's Kitchen. It was a nice country drive to and from but keep your eyes open for horse and buggies as they are plentiful on the road. They offer a buffet and salad bar or you can choose from the menu. The buffet was smaller than most but quality food with good flavor. The Amish fried chicken is king here. It alone is worth the trip. It was moist and juicy and delicious. Local sourced food is evident. here. The home made mashed potatoes were very good. The corn was creamy and amazing. It tasted similar to creamed corn. I could tell it was farm fresh. The roast beef was tender and tasty. They had a few nice things to offer but you can't try everything. I only got what I really wanted and it was so good I had seconds. I was going to have a slice of blackberry pie but was full so got it to go. I took home a coconut cream pie. This restaurant is definitely worth the trip.

Google
Mrs. Yoder's may not be the biggest buffet in the area, but I can say everything on the buffet is good. There is not one item that we tried and did not like. It is by no means a fancy place it looks like your grandma's house. But in the amish country that's kind of what you want. It's simple home cooking at its best. I will say the fried chicken here is leaps and bounds better than other buffets in the area. The place is small and fills up fast, so do not be surprised if there is a wait for a table. It also has a small parking lot out front. This restaurant is by no means meant to attract tourists but more should probably visit it. It is worth trying while in the area. The buffet here is also cheaper than the other buffets nearby.

Google
Myrs Yoder's Kitchen has fantastic, hot, fried chicken! Best I've ever had. We had the buffet, others in our group had the plentiful salad bar, overall a great meal. The restaurant opens at 11am on a Saturday, the day of our visit, we got there at 11.05 and the parking lot was full and overflow lot filling up. Customers were a mix of Amish and English.

Google
Best buffer prepared in Amish style. Love the salad bar, pickled red eggs, pickled tomatoes, the fried chicken, fried cod and bbq pork ribs. Reasonably priced and highly recommended.

Google
This restaurant holds a special place in my heart. Best chicken in Ohio. And their desserts?! Absolutely amazing. They pour so much love in their whole restaurant. PLEASE VISIT! All of the staff I've met are super friendly and caring. I've been going when I can since I was a kid.

Google
Mrs. Yoder’s Kitchen is our favorite Amish restaurant to eat at when in Holmes County. It’s actually run by Amish folk (not commercialized) and it’s where the local eat! Our favorites are the roast beef, gravy and mashed potatoes. We also enjoy a slice of peanut butter pie to remind ourselves we’re in Amish country and that’s what you do.

Google
By far the best chicken in the area!! The other amish restaurants have more salad bar options and a little more on the buffet but the food here is way better tasting and is so fresh. It's a must visit whenever in the area!

Yelp
You can't come down here without doing a buffet, and Mrs Yoder's is excellent. As of 2024, the buffet with a drink is $17, and while I usually don't order a buffet, the price was similar to their entrees (which is unusual), so I went for it. The fried chicken is the star of the show. It is tender, juicy, the skin is crispy, and it falls off the bone. I paired that with the very creamy mashed potatoes, noodles, gravy, and a plate of cold salad. My friend and I both went back for more chicken. I also enjoyed the fairly simple salad bar for a veggie. The buffet is clean, the servers are friendly, and they really keep it stocked. If you want a good meal with a bit of a lot, I think this is the place to go! The desserts looked very good, but a girl's got limits.

Yelp
We love the authentic Amish food. You know it's food of the Amish are there too we have had the buffet and off the menu. Did not disappoint.

Yelp
Mrs. Yoder's Kitchen is located in the heart of Amish country in Mt. Hope, Ohio across from the Mt. Hope Livestock Auction site. They have been serving up delicious Amish country food since 1994. Hungry patrons can order from the menu or take advantage of the delicious lunch and dinner buffets. You can get the buffet to go for $8 per pound. There are also daily specials. Business hours have recently been reduced to 11 AM to 7 PM Monday through Saturday, they are closed on Sunday. The restaurant is very popular with locals and tourists. The parking lot is fairly spacious but can get very crowded. If you arrive by horse and buggy you may take advantage of the available hitching posts to secure your animal. The buffet includes a salad bar. They offer a nice variety of entrees and sides. There is something for everyone but he highlight is the amazing marinated and hand-breaded pressure fried chicken. Oh my, it's some of the very best fried chicken I have ever eaten. People are willing to drive a great distance just for the chicken, it's that good. I also really enjoy the meatloaf, roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, corn and much more. Your choice of beverage (no alcohol) is included in the price of the buffet but does not include their wonderful homemade desserts which can be ordered separately. Dining at Mrs. Yoder's Kitchen is a very pleasant experience. The food is delicious and service is fast and friendly. Prices are reasonable. I give it two thumbs up, way up. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Out of all of the Amish places to eat that I have been to so far, this place has the best flavor, and they have a large food offering. The waitress was attentive with the drinks, and the place was clean. It's pretty basic on the inside, and the wait can be a little long. I just wish dessert was included in the price. It's worth it if you are driving to the area.

Yelp
This was our first visit to the area and we decided to eat here for a late lunch. We both had the buffet which was an excellent bargain for $17 including drink. They had a nice salad bar and a separate hot buffet--we just did the hot iems. I had meat loaf, chicken, shredded beef, corn, green beans and mashed potatoes and gravy. I put away a big plate and was full. We both got a piece of pie to take home (her pecan and me custard) Everything tasted great and the service by server Sarah was friendly and attentive. If you don't want to do thev buffet, they have regular entrees with sides for about the same price. We will return if we are ever in the area again. There was an Amish horse and buggy just across the fence in the next door parking lot, so we HAD to go over and pet the horse and take a picture. It's nice to take the road less travelled sometimes and see the real America.

Yelp
Really cute Amish buffet featuring excellent fried chicken. Extensive salad bar too! Don't forget to order a slice of pie or cake... delicious!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Good food, good service, buffet was always full. Very fair price. It was very busy but we were seated quickly and never felt rushed
google avatar

Yelp
Homemade food. Reasonable prices. Lovely service. The classic restaurant for the region. Recommended to us. We recommend it too.

Yelp
Amazing food and VALUE! Most people know the chicken here is awesome...but so is the cabbage casserole (almost passed over it!). Also, the raisen pie was the BEST pie I ever had! Four people $75. Can't eat anywhere these days for that little!
google avatar

Cathy H.

Yelp
The best fried chicken ever! Strawberry pie was amazing. Very comfortable place. Locals were there....which means a lot to me. Waitress was very attentive. Always pleasurable at Mrs. Yoders
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome food my brother was here from Nebraska and that is the only place he wanted to eat at. The beef and noodles is his favorite
google avatar

Sara I.

Yelp
If your in the area it's worth a try. Better then Der Dutchman chain. Everyone was friendly and it was super busy. We got there right at 11am and I'm glad we did because when we left there was a long line/wait list. Buffet style, heavy on the meats. Fried chicken was definitely their best item. I never see any Amish eating at Der Dutchman chain, but there were several eating here.
google avatar

Richard W.

Yelp
The fried chicken is great. Definitely try it. We were visiting and had the buffet. Everything was very good. The pie and coffe were delicious. Service was prompt and very friendly. Very clean. Will definitely stop again next time we are in town.

Yelp
Basically the definition of comfort food. We ate here as part of our package with Dutch Host Inn. The coupon covered two buffers with a drink (which would have been around $18 a person otherwise. When we arrived there were a fairly large amount of people waiting (around 15) but we were still seated almost immediately. I browsed the menu but fairly quickly decided to get the buffet, I was surprised how small the buffet actually is. It has two sides, but each side has the same foods. That didn't matter, though because what was there was absolutely delicious. Super creamy mashed potatoes, delicious green beans, flavorful inn noodles. It was a Friday so they had cod nuggets but I didn't try any of those. The star of the buffet was the fried chicken. Perfectly crisp and tasty breading/skin and juicy chicken, The salad bar portion of the buffet had potato salad, noodle salad, coleslaw, broccoli salad, beets, pickled eggs, five bean salad and also traditional salad ingredients. The only sweet option was a jello concoction with strawberries and whipped cream. It was a perfect end to a delicious meal. Service was extremely friendly and efficient, Definitely a place I'd go back to if I was in the area. But do wish there were a few more choices on the buffet
google avatar

Rose K.

Yelp
Excellent food, especially the fried chicken. Although it was very busy, it was not as noisy as one would expect at a buffet. The food was hot and refreshed often on the buffet. The waiting line to get in moved quickly.

Lisa H.

Yelp
The typical amish buffet dinner buffet style. Ran out of second choice of soup. We had no wait time but the place was packed when we walked out.
google avatar

SA M.

Yelp
Sadly, visiting some of our favorite past restaurants involved checking the buffet & leaving hungry. Bidenomics??? We got nice sandwiches at Market Delis but not what we'd had in mind. Sad
google avatar

Taylor D.

Yelp
The restaurant itself is very clean, open and comfortable. The staff is so friendly and positive. The food was very good! The salad bar has a nice selection. Everything was fresh and so delicious. The pie is so good too! The only reason I didn't give the full 5 stars was, I thought there could be a bit more selection on buffet but honestly the quality is so good! I also didn't get everything they had on the buffet. I was too full!
google avatar

Kara B.

Yelp
The food was incredible. Probably the best fried chicken I've ever had!! Plan accordingly because there will be a wait. Try to get there before 5, prior to all the shops shutting down for the evening. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because the bathroom was horrifically dirty. It smelled like someone peed all over the floor. I have been in cleaner porta potties.
google avatar

Patrick E.

Yelp
Food has flavor down to the mashed potato's. Fried chicken is amazing! Best buffet I've ever had across the board.

Mike L.

Yelp
Great service, great food the lake perch is the best!! Mashed potatoes and gravy and salad were all excellent!!

Duane F.

Yelp
We had the buffet, very good selection of quality food. We have been to this restaurant before but took others with us for this visit.

Joyce A.

Yelp
Quick. Beat the rush. Delicious. Somethings need a sign of what they are on the salad bar. Just in case you aren't brave!!
google avatar

Amber L.

Yelp
I dream about Mrs. Yoder's Kitchen and my friend and I still talk about the pot roast til this day! I really wish it wasn't 6.5 hours away!

Theresa H.

Yelp
i was there with a church group of 18 senior folks on a Friday afternoon, October 18 2024. The line was out the door. The very efficient and friendly hostess said it would be a 30 minute wait. I got my folks off the bus to wait and within 10 minutes they had our entire party seated! The food and service were top notch and the service was amazing. Thank You so much for being so kind to us and getting us seated so promptly.

Carol B.

Yelp
Honestly , we were skeptical at first. However, the fried chicken and other offerings at the buffet were quite tasty. Mrs. Yoder's has a limited, but well executed buffet. The seating capacity was definitely ample, but not too big it felt like a tourist trap. Definitely recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a must if in the area. Went there in a busy noon hour on 4/30/2024 and hubby and I got right in. Had the buffet and then ordered a piece of pie each. He got strawberry and I got peanut butter. Best I ever had!!
google avatar

Marybeth B.

Yelp
Delicious Amish cooking that is well worth the drive. Highly recommend the fried chicken and meatloaf. The bacon French dressing was perfect with the fresh loaded salad.
google avatar

Yo O.

Yelp
The fried chicken was the star of the show. We did the buffet for $17 which included a drink and three choices (buffet style) of dessert. The stuffing, mashed potatoes, were all delicious. Our waitress was great. Most dinners were in the $14-16 range, but then you need to buy a drink so the buffet is a good option. And you get to taste everything!
google avatar

Aaron C.

Yelp
Food was excellent. Service was very good. Prices were reasonable. I wish they would have expanded the choices on the buffet in the third pod instead of repeating what was in the first pod. Fried chicken was fantastic, but enquire about desserts early as they run out of stuff quick.
google avatar

Molly N.

Yelp
Went here for dinner with a group of 10. A Monday around 5:30 and we were sat immediately The service is friendly and efficient Most of us had the buffet. Which seemed like most of the other buffets in the county. But, The favs were the pot roast and fried chicken Dessert was another notable mention, pies, custard and ice cream. Enough to share!
google avatar

Jacob S.

Yelp
Had heard many things about this eatery, all good. Upon walking in, I was surprised as to how large it was, many tables. They offer made to order as well as buffet style. The buffet is smaller than I imagined, with the same items on each side, they are arranged in a "V" shape, each meeting at the fried chicken. Standard home style foods, potatoes, gravy, dressing, ham loaf, chicken. They also had a good salad bar, with pasta salads, potato salad, and other items. The food was good, nothing stood out to me, nor was anything terrible. One note is that their home made peanut butter was delicious. Overall a solid place for home style cooking.

Yelp
On a Saturday this was the place to be. A fair number of cars as well as Amish buggies were parked outside and I completely understand why. This place is really good. There is a large buffet (which I hadn't planned on getting, but when I saw it, it looked pretty good and I wanted to try a variety of things after seeing it). The highlights were the fried chicken, the noodles, the mashed potatoes, and the dish that they called a chicken enchilada (although I didn't think it really resembled that.....it was almost more like a chicken lasagna in my mind). The wait was short and the restaurant operates very efficiently. Also, in case you are wondering what that mustard-looking substance is on every table, it is whipped peanut butter and OMG, it is amazingly delicious on the fresh rolls they give you. Our server was very friendly and I asked if it would be okay to get some mashed potatoes from the buffet for my 9 month old son and she said, that wouldn't be a problem and there would be no extra charge. Very nice! Of course after seeing the desserts, we decided we had to try a couple. My dining companion said that the pecan pie a la mode was the best he has ever had in his life. I had the creamy delicious peanut butter pie and it was pretty awesome, as well. I had considered the raisin cream, but decided on this instead. Maybe next time. Good experience!

Patrick G H.

Yelp
The food was amazing. The buffet had a wide variety of different foods and vegetables. They had a separate salad bar, which was delicious but the fried chicken their turkey was amazing.
google avatar

Beulah S.

Yelp
Best place to eat (from what I heard because I haven't tried anything else in the area) in Millersburg. It's all American with fried chicken, meatloaf, potatoes, pickled eggs, and salads. I didn't eat much of the other things but I loved their fried chicken. The servers were great and attentive and the ambiance is very homey.
google avatar

Jennifer R.

Yelp
Nice home style buffet where a lot of locals eat. Good service, busy location. You can go in dressed casual.
google avatar

Rhonda M.

Yelp
Hubby & I stopped in here for an early supper. They were crowded but we were seated immediately. I ordered the buffet while hubby got the pork chop dinner which came with 2 sides. He chose mashed potatoes & green beans. He was very happy with his food & cleaned his plate. I really enjoyed the fried chicken from the buffet but the roast beef was melt in your mouth tender & delicious. Loved the mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole & lima beans. The yeast rolls are by request only & were divine. The salad bar was fresh...loved the pickled eggs. I ended up buying 4 pickled eggs to go at 35¢ each. This is our second time eating here & it just keeps getting better.

Yelp
Great tasting food service was amazing quick and fast.restaurant was clean and large inside with plenty of space in between tables.

Kelly L.

Yelp
The food is fine. It's the same at all the Amish restaurants. All the menus are the same. I don't eat at these places it I can help it.
google avatar

Larry F.

Yelp
WOW!!! A severe price increase, smaller portions and smaller dinner plates! I ordered off the menu and the food was lukewarm. Unfortunately it's the only game in town. I really feel taken advantage of! Won't be back!
google avatar

Eileen E.

Yelp
I had heard absolutely rave reviews about this place and wanted to try it out. Full disclosure: this review is based on breakfast only and comes from a vegetarian. It was....fine. I got the fresh veggie eggs benedict. It wasn't particularly flavorful or out of this world tasty, but it was a large portion and with a little salt, pepper, and hot sauce, it had some spunk. The fruit that came with it was cantaloupe, pineapple, grapes and tasted like water...just water. I got a piece of key lime pie to go and I have to say, the texture was off. I ate it the afternoon of that same day and it was as if they had put gelatin in the key lime to set it-kind of rubbery to chew. I've had better meals and better key lime pie. The service was definitely 5 stars. Everyone was kind and attentive, and my server in particular was so considerate. I am willing to go back for a second go, but am not in a hurry.
google avatar

Paul N.

Yelp
We really enjoyed the buffet and especially the fried chicken. Very popular with visitors and we can see why. Very enjoyable comfort food.

Erin D.

Yelp
Food was good ordered the buffet and they have plenty of comfort foods but was very disappointed with desert. The only desert on the bar was a jello, typically banana pudding dessert is a staple in Amish country so I was very disappointed. It was just alright. Probably would pick a different place next time
google avatar

Yelp
Don't believe the hype. This restaurant is no where near as good as the reviews will have you believe. It's busy, yes. Popular, no doubt. Good, nope. We've been to this area many times, but have never eaten here, so we decided to give it a shot. There were 2 of us. We both ordered entrees, and they both come with 2 side dishes. My niece ordered the roast turkey with mashed potatoes/gravy, and I ordered the beef brisket with seasoned green beans. Both entrees also included rolls. The other side dish that we both chose was the salad bar. The salad bar was very limited. The lettuce was shredded. There was only one cheese. The egg salad looked like egg soup. It was so very runny. No thanks. We both opted for pasta salad, which was okay. The server forgot our rolls when she brought out the entrees. No biggie, she said she would come back. The roast turkey and mashed potatoes that my niece ordered had absolutely no flavor. I sincerely doubt the mashed were homemade as described. There were no lumps, and so bland. My order of beef brisket consisted of 1 inch squares of a brownish/grey meat thinly sliced. That's not brisket. The saving grace on that pile of crap was the bbq sauce that came with it. The "seasoned" green beans were very over cooked, to the point of being mushy, and the only seasoning I could taste was butter. Oh, and the rolls finally came to our table after asking a 3rd time. The server said she was waiting for them to come out of the oven. Funny, as when we finally got them, they weren't the slightest bit warm. Neither one of us finished even a quarter of our meals, they really were that appallingly bad. This place is a tourist trap, and they really don't seem to care about quality, only about pumping stuff out to move people in and out. The food was awful, and so not worth what they charge. There are a few other restaurants in the area that are honestly so much better. We won't be back.

Yelp
Why Mrs. Yoder's is better than Der Dutchman: buffet price, meatloaf, cabbage casserole (OMG) and I'd give the nod to the chicken, but only slightly. Reasons why Walnut Creek Der Dutchman is better than Mrs. Yoder's: salad bar, general vibe and cleanliness, bread pudding. desserts, size of restaurant, views. You decide.
google avatar

Angela L.

Yelp
Heard this was the place to come for the perfect comfort food meal and we were not disappointed. We all chose the buffet and loved all of the options - noodles, chicken, potatoes, salad and more. There was something for everyone and even my 15mo old was chowing down.
google avatar

Kamron S.

Yelp
Came here with my mom after Hearing amazing things about this place and I must say we were very pleased. We both got the buffet and we really enjoyed our meal. The chicken was amazing the skin crisp and well seasoned and the meat juicy. The mashed potatoes were rich and the stuffing was great. The food was filling and flavorful. Our server was attentive and friendly making sure we were enjoying our meal and refilling our drinks. She was very nice. I also got a slice of coconut cream pie. The slice was massive and was fantastic. The coconut custard was rich and well made and the whipped cream was An amazing compliment. Overall we loved the experience and would go back

Yelp
Mrs. Yoder's Kitchen is a local establishment that has earned its reputation. We were lucky to get the last spot in the parking lot on a Friday evening. The dining room has multiple sections with tables for 4 or more. Because the menu is so long, we opted for the hot and cold buffet so we could sample more items. Almost everything was good, including the ribs and brisket. The mashed potatoes were very smooth, and the jello salad delicious, but I found the fried chicken salty, and the clam chowder so salty that I couldn't eat it (it had probably become concentrated over the course of the day). All the servers were very friendly, and turnover was swift. Word to the wise: if you go in the evening, better to order your pie sooner rather than later. They were already out of blackberry pie by the time we arrived, and I think I nabbed the last piece of apple pie. Hubby said the butterscotch pie was yummy but quite sweet, so he ate it a few forkfuls at a time.

Tina W.

Yelp
We just ate at Mrs. Yoder's kitchen, the food was really good, the chicken was delicious. The staff was very friendly. We got the buffet and for 2 adults it was under 40 dollars.
