I'm so torn on this review. The food was fantastic. There were three of us and everybody raved over what they chose. On the other hand, the decor is hideous. Dark and dirty looking, if I hadn't heard good things about it I would have turned around and walked out. The menu is nicely varied with lots of selection both for types of food and budget, but it's pretty cheesy looking. The dessert menu was a disappointment for anyone who hates cheesecake - pages of cheesecake selections, one toffee pudding type of dessert, which does not agree with what their website shows. When I declined to order dessert based on the lack of selection the waitress unenthusiastically mentioned "well, we have a brownie, too." Which leads me to my next issue - very indifferent service. The couple I went with had been once before and said they'd walked out after 20 minutes of waiting to even be acknowledged - but that was quite awhile ago and based on the fact that I'd heard very good reviews, they were willing to try again. Well, we were seated quicker, but considering it was us and one other table at the time the food was *very* slow in getting to us, and we didn't get any checkups from the waitress on how we were doing until we were finished and ready to go. Seeing Dan J's review I wonder if we didn't hit the restaurant on an 'off' day, but I do know the couple I was with aren't very enthusiastic about going back even with the good food because they've had two bad service experiences in a row.
I guess my final recommendation is that the food itself is worth giving it a try, and that's what I'm going to give my four-star rating to. Service-wise, it'd end up with a 2, and decor-wise it'd get a 1. But based on the food I am going to give it another couple of tries and hope the service improves to where I can recommend it without hesitation.
