I went to Ms P's for the first time today. It will definitely not be my last time! The chicken tenderloins are juicy, crunchy and well-seasoned without being greasy. I also tried the truffle mac and cheese with has a good texture-the right amount of creamy and cheesy. The truffle oil has a pungent flavor that is different, but tasty. The service was really good as well. The ladies working the truck had me and my friend laughing the whole time we were there. They also tried to sell me on their black eyed peas, which I am sure is very tasty, but I do not eat foods that stare at me from inside the pot where they are being cooked. I definitely plan to bring family and friends when they visit Austin!

There are a lot of things to like about this trailer. But be warned - an 8 piece bucket actually meant 4 wings and then 4 large tender/breast boneless pieces. No legs, no thighs. I miss my bone-in fried chicken, it's not the same. If I wanted a tender basket it was on the menu, I would have ordered it. The batter is pretty good, it has a bit of a jalapeno flavor to it (dunno if it's in the batter or if it's because there were jalapenos on the side as a garnish) but it was subtle and added to the depth of flavor. I wish the batter had been crispier and flakier, with more crunch, it was actually semi-soggy (probably because I took it home in the bucket and allowed it to steam) but even then it wasn't originally the crispy crackly chicken I really like. So the end result for me is that it's okay. It's not bad at all and if you're in SoCo and you crave fried chicken it'll satiate your craving. But it's not the best fried chicken I've had in the city, and they don't have traditional pieces, so if you're after traditional pieces go elsewhere. Also the wait for my food was ASTRONOMICAL. But I don't begrudge trailers their success. It's good that they have so many customers that it takes a while to make all the food.

Okay don't get me wrong their food is good. The chicken was okay, and their truffle mac and cheese was a just a little bit better. The reason why I gave them 3 stars is because the food is waaaaay over priced. When you order a 2~3 piece meal from any chicken place you're normally full but the chicken that they serve you was all bone and had no meat at all. I'm surprised that they charge you $7 for 2 pieces and $8.50 for 3. I tried the truffle mac n cheese, the slaw and the chicken. Which were okay, taste wise, except for the slaw, don't order the slaw!!!!!! Its really more like a light snack rather than a hearty meal. And I know this probably has nothing to do with the place but I got weird insect bites after I ate here. : ( not a great experience.

I like fried chicken, you like fried chicken, the powers that be like fried chicken, thus: lots of fried chicken options out there. A nirvana for those unconcerned yet with clogged arteries and whathaveyou. I've heard much discussion as to who makes the best in town, and so far, Lucy's and Gus's seem to hold a solid lead. This despite Mrs P's claim to have the best. And sure enough, I was pretty underwhelmed with what the Mrs had to offer in terms of dead fowl. Kind of dry, not terribly interesting rub on the skin; maybe it's just my own particular tastes that vary, but I also have yet to hear anyone else trumpet this South Congress roadside trailer as being all that legit in their chicken claims. All that being said, boy do they know how to make some tasty and filling sides. The mac and cheese deserves at the very least an 'honorable mention' on any best in town lists. Made using cream cheese along with the other more standard dairy additives, this is by far the most filling and really quite unusual version of the dish I've tried in town. Well worth the stop, as is their fries, served up in a very large portion that I couldn't stop eating well past the point of knowing I was going to pay for it with stomach pains later.

The truffle oil mac and cheese was great. A little salty, but very tasty. I got chicken strips, and while they look very colorful like they have spices, were actually pretty tasteless. The approach doesn't seem to be to allow the customer to salt their own, because the mac and cheese was definitely salty (maybe that was more of the truffle oil). I was okay - I probably will not go here again, but it's worth trying out.

It was the best chicken I've ever had in Austin. Very flavorful, hot and crispy! I also had their mac & cheese and fries - recommend both of them. Another plus is that you can BYOB at the trailer and the customer service was friendly. Definitely will be coming back :)

I had the chicken tenders; if you want white meat only look toward the bottom of the menu under the "sides." I know I prefer white meat and many people don't, but looking around I think I definitely got the bigger bang for my buck than those who ordered the equally prices "2 pieces of chicken." White meat can be tricky and this was delicious, meaty, moist chicken in a tasty batter. I believe it when they advertise their chicken is locally sourced. I had a side of the yummy truffle mac & cheese, and though it was $5 it was a huge portion (enough for two). This seemed to be the case also for the potato salad, so my suggestion is get a couple sides and share them so you can try a bit of everything. The corn is on the cob, which wasn't really obvious from the menu, and it looked delicious; I will be back to try it! The chicken is made to order and there was a wait (they told me about 20 minutes when I ordered, which seemed about right). It thought the service was good, the woman taking our orders came out and took away trash and trays during down times, although like most food trailers there are nearby trash cans and it's usually clear your own table.

This food trailer has major personality-- just look at the name! Personally, the chicken is good, but not the best friend chicken I've ever had. I will say it has more of a "homemade" taste than fried chicken that you might find at most coventional places, where very breaded, thick crusts surrounds the chicken. It's located near a great strip of local businesses on South Congress, so stop by if you've got a hankering for chicken and waffles. Open till midnight on Fridays and Saturdays!
