Mt Cook Glacier Guiding

What an amazing trip! The helicopter ride above the glacier was absolutely breathtaking. Huge shoutout to our guide, Kirby — so energetic and fun, which made the whole experience unforgettable. Totally worth it and highly recommended! 🚁❄️

When we checked in, it was very unsure if we would be able to go out as there were a lot of clouds in the valley. We were extremely lucky that there was a small gap which allowed us to go out for the trip. When you plan this trip, make sure to have some spare days if your tour gets rescheduled, which happens often! The whole experience was incredible, unbelievable and hard to explain in words. It is 100% worth the price, seeing that all the gear is included and they even have jackets, pants, gloves. Our guide Bia was a true superhero. She was such a nice and cool person which made the experience even better than it already is. The walking on the ice in the glacier with the crampons, the ice cave experience, the ride with the helicopter, it was phenomenal. Do it!

Tori is truly an incredible guide! And she also takes amazing photos for us！ She was constantly and enthusiastically helping us search for ice caves, and you can really feel how much she loves her job. She had us listen to the wind inside the ice cave and watch the tiny bubbles rising in the glacial water 🫧. Every minute with her was absolutely worth it — she never wastes your time.

What an awesome experience. The heli-hike was breath-taking, and our amazing guide Fiona did an incredible job guiding us through the glacier and explaining different areas of the ice while ensuring we were all safe. Willing to take photos of the group and chat to get to know guests in the limited time available. The landscape is stunning on the Tasman Glacier and overall recommend the experience if you can.

What a wonderful experience! The heli-hike was breath-taking, and our amazing guide Tori did an incredible job guiding us through the glacier, snapping a million wonderful photos and stopping to chat photography & the science behind the glacier afterwards. We felt very safe, incredibly well looked after and in absolute awe of the landscape around us. Worth every single penny :)

Absolutely incredible heli-hiking experience at Mount Cook! The scenery was breathtaking—truly some of the most beautiful views we’ve ever seen. The experience was seamless and well worth every penny. Jimmy was excellent—knowledgeable, friendly, and made the adventure even more memorable. Highly recommend this for anyone visiting Mount Cook!

Amazing Heli hike experience with this company! Our guides Anna and Rich were so thorough and informative during the entire hike. It was such an experience walking on top of a glacier and having the chance to go inside an ice cave. The company is safety first, which we love and gives you a great value. Highly recommend!

The helicopter ride and walking on the Tasman Glacier was one of the highlights of our family trip to Mt Cook. After careful research I decided we should do the Tasman Glacier walk as we had a better chance of good weather compared to the other glacier walks. (The company takes safety very seriously and if there is any chance of poor weather they will postpone the trip) Duncan our pilot was very professional and experienced. The helicopter ride was amazing and very smooth- a first for our daughter! Flying high over the glacier gave us an amazing view of the glacier and the surrounds - one of the biggest in NZ. Our guide Rich was very helpful and knowledgeable as he showed us around the glacier. He encouraged us to walk through ice caves and holes allowing us time to take photos, capturing this unique and amazing experience. We even saw a small avalanche on a nearby mountain. Hearing the ice beneath us creak and groan during moments of silence added to the experience. We loved every minute.

We signed up for the help hike here, didn't really know what to expect. Only reason why I'm giving this 5 stars is bc of the glacier hike guide can't remember her name (small - like stick thin small- woman from England). She was fan-freaking-tastic. The rest of the staff were also great but it was so unorganized, with out the staff it would have been a horrible experience. Took over an hour past our scheduled time to simply get in the air. Took just as long to get back. Honestly that killed the experience for me. Staff great, need to get more organized. So if your fine with a walk on a glacier (which should take 3 hours) Taking you 4 & 1/2 hours then this is the place for you!
