Good restaurant for a quick lunch. The lunch special menu is affordable and has many good options.

I had to leave asap because the hostess was wearing strong perfume. I’m very sensitive to this kind of stuff. It gives me migraines etc. This made me feel sick to my stomach. The Miso soup wasn’t good. It wasn’t hot and it was watery. The sushi rice wasn’t right. I think it was day old rice.

Food was quite delicious. I eat California sushi rolls and it was very fresh. They do have limited beverages but I'd recommend trying it.

Miso soup was not hot and watery… sushi rice was hard …. Didn’t taste good sushi at all. Price and service are fair but we won’t go back

Update: lunch specials are a great deal, especially the sushi rolls with soup or salad. However, you do get what you pay for: rolls are cut pretty unevenly and sometimes coming apart by the time they're served to you. But overall fish is tasty and a good value. Another good lunch from Mt. Fuji. This time, we did takeout on the way to the airport and made everyone jealous in the terminal with our fresh, delicious and pretty bento boxes! This certainly beats any restaurant food, especially at less than $15 per person.

Ordered the Don Katsu and teriyaki chicken. Both were tasteless. Chicken was a bit rubbery and teriyaki was added after chicken was cooked so it lacked the flavour. Yes and two pieces of broccoli and 2 pieces of tomatoes (that’s what they called vegetables). Don Katsu had egg that was scrambled and I couldn’t even tell it was there because it was white. Way too much onions in both our dishes. We would have been happy with bean sprouts but no they were all onions! Disappointed with the quality.

I knew I found a nice place when I saw a dozen Japanese laddies having lunch together. The Tako Su, octopus salad was exceptional. My sushi / sashimi lunch special was fresh and great value with six nigiri, six roll pieces, and nine slices of sashimi. Service was attentive and tables clean and comfortable. I appreciated the double door entry to keep the cold breeze out.

I ordered 3 separate meals from this "place," and they decided to combine the orders into 1. After calling the store and waiting for 20 minutes on hold, i finally spoke with the owner and made him aware of the error. He told me that I wanted it like that. I explained that the food was for 3 separate people, and we did not wish to dig through the food that at this point had been cross contaminated and was cold. I was then told to bring the food back to them, and they would separate it for me. I was shocked at this response and utterly offended that they would assume this was an acceptable resolution. After expressing my dissatisfaction with their suggestion, I was told next time I should "order better." I can not give my blessings to this greasy spoon due to the poor customer service that was rendered. The owner and underlings of this eatery should be able to deal with a patron who is dissatisfied with their refection. I should not be made to feel like a Meer vagrant from the streets attempting compel the upper echelon of society to freely disperse their precious coin into my soiled pocket. My abundance of cash is bone steakingly difficult to acquire, and I want to support the local businesses, but not at the expense of being treated like rubbish or a pile of disgarded bull dung scraped from the boot of a local vagrant. I will never frequent this establishment again.

Had a nice lunch one weekend at Mt. Fuji. After we nixed a different establishment (whoops, should've checked that waiter service field on Yelp), we ended up here for sushi. We were pleased to find out we still made it in time for the lunch specials. The tempura appetizer wasn't too exciting but featured a mix of shrimp and veggies. However, the sashimi and salad were fresh and cold. Speaking of low temperatures, the restaurant was chilly which wasn't ideal on a winter day. Mt. Fuji wasn't too crowded, and our server was attentive and polite. The prices on the physical menu weren't updated so you needed to refer to the online menu. Parking was available on the street and in a lot behind the restaurant; you can enter Mt. Fuji from the back if you've parked there.

Fresh authentic Japanese food especially their sushi! Friendly staff. Great location and easy parking. Quick to go food.

Advice to owners don't let teenagers run the front of your restaurant without supervision. Ordered pickup and my son's California roll was missing.I called and they said to come back and pick it up. On my way back there in my car they called asked to check again. I had a busy day so I could have made a mistake and called my wife to check. She said we were actually missing two rolls. I get to the restaurant and tell the girl what happened. She laughs as if I'm lying and I'm spending my Friday trying to grift two free rolls. To be fair she was young and probably nervous laughter but still was rude and had no idea to resolve the situation. By this point I'm hungry and my kids are hungry. I re-ordered two additional rolls and paid again and told them I will never order from there again. Absolutely frustrating experience and I hate writing this about a local restaurant but it needs to be said.

Bento boxes were a good value and had a lot of food. Some of the sushi rolls were a bit too creamy and became too rich after a few bites. Parking can be hard especially in busy times.

I ordered a chicken teriyaki bento box with miso soup. I made the mistake of checking yelp after I ordered. The hostess made me pay for my food before it arrived and open the bag to double check the soup and soy sauce was in there. By the time I got home there was sauce everywhere. The chicken was overcooked. The rolls were warm and there were no chop sticks in the bag. I hate when I order Japanese and they don't give me chopsticks. I really just need to buy some nice ones and keep them at home.

Today is day 4 that my child is sick after eating here. We are talking severe stomach aches and vomiting. They should not be handling food. Shame to this place. Never again.

Manager Adrien was very obnoxious, disrespectful and said he cannot hold the table unless we arrive on time. When we asked for late arrival policy - got no answer as there were none in place. On arrival we settled at the bar after checked in after we were given a buzzer. Everyone settled with the drinks by the bar while waiting. 1 hour past. Restaurant been under a new ownership and not as it used to be as far as coming to a warm atmosphere to enjoy your family group and have a good time worry free... The worse experience each of us ever had. This restaurant used to be a Gem, we would never go visit and would not recommend to anyone to get your special day ruin....

Got the nigiri sushi regular combo, 8 pieces of sushi plus a tuna roll. The starter of miso and salad with ginger dressing were both great. Also great was the complimentary hot tea. The portions and ratio of fish to rice were perfect! We were impressed that the combo actually included 8 pieces of fresh fish nigiri, instead of the typical cheap out of egg, or shrimp/eel. I'm pretty sure one piece was otoro! The quality of fish was impressive for a down-to-earth suburban sushi restaurant. Each piece was delicious, and the tuna roll had substantial chunks of fish. My only complaint was that the rice seemed a little under seasoned, it tasted mostly of pure rice. They definitely appeared to specialize in sushi, though they do have other Japanese dishes such as udon soup, teriyaki, and I think yaki soba. I would be curious to try them in future visits! Subtracted one star as the fish was definitely delicious but not beyond critique, and service could be improved in terms of timeliness.

We used to go to this place a lot due to convenience and it was decent. The last three times we went we said we'd never go again...this time is for real. Of course I'd love to support this local sushi spot but the fish was not fresh. Our most recent dine in meal was almost inedible. I recently had sushi in the poconos (think rural) which was soooo much better than this restaurant - sad! 1) sushi fish was served warm 2) sushi was not a piece of fish but mushed up pieces like how they do spicy rolls but it wasn't a spicy roll - just mush 3) sushi had no flavor - poor quality We will not be going back until we hear it has improved.

Absolutely delicious sushi. The quality of the fish is superb. The owner, Lenny, is kind and friendly. He's known for creating one-of-a-kind sushi dishes off the menu and surprising his regular customers with them when they come in to sit down and have a meal. Clean, cozy and atmospheric, with friendly serving staff. The panko crusted chicken katsu dinner is one of my favorite dishes (I get it with teriyaki instead of katsu sauce). Over and over again, Mt. Fuji never ceases to amaze!

I'm not the biggest sushi fan in the world so when I come here I usually get the chicken teriyaki bento box or other bento boxes. And when I do get sushi it's delicious. In general, this place is delicious. The service is quick and smooth and inside feels like you're at your very own house.

This is our go-to sushi place. The sushi is fresh and they have some great special rolls. I recommend the Rainbow roll and the Spice Girl roll. When we order, delivery is quick, usually half the time they say it will be. When dining in, service is very good, we've never had to wait more than a minute or two to order and food comes quick. All in all, a solid choice!

Decided to take a day trip into Maplewood. It's a really cute, small town with one major street filled with shops, restos and bars. We decided to come here for a quick pre-dinner snack, and save for another table and us, it was pretty empty (this was also around 4:30p). Food: Shrimp & Vegetable Tempura: I ordered an appetizer portion. It was nicely cooked, but there really wasn't a definitive taste. It was just okay IMO California Roll ($4.50): I was seriously craving these BIG time. They were a bit small and taste-wise, nothing spectacular. Yes, it's a CA roll, what do I expect? But if the Japanese-Chinese take-out place near me makes em better, this place has got to step it up. Spicy Girl Roll: Spicy salmon and tuna. The Husband loved it. He felt it was overpriced for the quality and portion. Service: Great Overall Impression: A bit overpriced for underrated food and portions. FYI BYOB!

Awful. Not sure how this place stays in business. The good: My shumai were warmed up nicely. No great thing as you can by These in bulk frozen in a big bag. Oshinko was decent but some pieces were on the mushy side, like over pickled. Service was attentive. My sushi roll: rice was over cooked and roll stuck to the plate, ew. Tempura flakes were old and stale, not at all crunchy. Oily taste. And avocado was spoiled. Roll looked pretty, Just was boring at best, verging on gross at worst. Had been before and remembered it as very meh. Thought how meh could it be? So tried again. Not going back! My 2 stars is overgenerous.

We go to, and order from here ....weekly!! All their dishes are consistently fresh and amazing! We recently dined in and tried some noodle soup entrees and they were delicious and filling. We also love the salmon teriyaki which comes with a huge side of sushi! And all the rolls are fresh and great. My Fuji never disappoints!

Mt Fuji is *usually* pretty good (not great) and we have been ordering from there fairly regularly for months now, however they had a really off night on Fri April 15. -The avocado salad was mostly the inedible, almost white stalky stuff from the core of the lettuce head (come on, sacrifice a few cents and throw that part of the lettuce in the garbage); -The chicken in the yakitori appetizer was overcooked and under-seasoned, rubbery and tasteless; -And worst of all the tuna in the tri-sashimi was an off-putting grayish-red color rather than the deep red it should be -- and it didn't taste good at all. This fish was not fresh. Anyway this place isn't cheap -- it was a very disappointing takeout order, and they haven't responded to my follow-up email bringing this to their attention. So Mt Fuji is in my penalty box.

Really good bento boxes and tempura. Service was pretty good, good for a nice relaxing lunch.

Do yourself a favor. There are plenty of other great options for sushi in the area, like Harusame in South Orange, where service is friendlier and the food is fresher. Last time I was here, the pieces were small, the fish didn't taste fresh, and the manager wasn't accommodating when I tried to return the food. Will not be going back here ever. Period.

The Service, the Atmosphere, thr Food is All Amazing. I've been a loyal customer for over 10 yrs now. They have never fallen short on Quality . I highly recommend this Sushi Restaurant to Sushi Lovers.

Went there for the lunch special today. First we order the gyoza that tasted like the oil was stale/old and it was watery. It was gross. I ordered the sushimi special (again it was the lunch special) which came to $21.00. Wow that's more than I pay for any sushi place at night. The tuna sashimi was average, very chilled which shouldn't be, the eel was kind of hairy, yucch. My husband got the bento box. He thought it was meh. The total price with tip and tax was $64.00. BTW the waitress was working alone for the entire restaurant and she never came again to our table. I had to approach her and ask for more wasabi.

The service leaves room to be desired. the service is very disjointed, I made an online order. when I showed up the place was empty, the receptionist told me to have a seat as the order will be a ready in a few minutes. while sitting the waiter comes over with an attitude and basically asked me why I was there. After l explained to her I placed an order online she seemed confused. Her attitude was transparent as she did not ask if I needed help or wanted to place an order. it was basically why am I here. I must say I haven't felt like this at a restaurant in a very long time.

Just got back from this place and NEVER AGAIN !!!!!! We waited for a table for 20 minutes, then an hour for someone to take care of our table. It was my fiancee's 30th birthday. We had to talk to the manager twice to send someone to the table and nothing came out. If you have patients for this, go and watch the people across from the table play and have fun! I have never had a worse experience !!!! I don't know if there were not enough staff or if something happened, but at least go to the table to apologize and explain what happened, that people had everything after us and we were still waiting .. We left hungry

The avocado rolls were the best I have ever tasted! We brought my toddler and sat in a booth with a booster seat. The restaurant was pretty full on a Friday night. I like that it is BYOB. The dressing for the salad was yummy and my daughter loved the miso soup, edamame and vegetable/tofu udon noodle soup. We had a special roll that was all raw fish with no rice which was good. The tempura appetizer was delicious and so was the dessert. We ordered 3 orders of green tea and red bean ice cream. We were very satisfied. The service was gruff at times and mostly pretty attentive. I had a better time here for dinner than my last experience at lunch a few months back. The service was more pleasant this time around.

This place is an outstanding business. The wait is very short because they have a lot of tables. There waiters make you feel appreciated. There snap peas are out of this world. So many different types of food, they have tons of different sushi rolls, if that's not your cup of tea (pun intended) they have lots of different types of preparation of meat, if you don't eat meat try the salads they are delicious. They also have a lot of different soda flavors. Anyways not to make you read so much you should stop by if your in the area.

Sushi is a go to in my book for lunch. Sometimes you just want something lighter, fresher, and healthier than pizza and burgers. This spot has been several different sushi joints over the years. I think it's much needed in the village. I took off a star because sometimes my order isn't quite right or not as fancy as I would like it. I do have to mention that they do give extra on certain items like the salmon roe which is a nice surprise.

The food is good. The service is poor. I've been here three times and it takes forever for the food to arrive . Food comes out in random order. I needed a fork for my daughter and had to walk across the restaurant for the waitress' attention. Expensive. Mediocre shrimp teriyaki was $18.00! Finally, the kid ordered ice cream for dessert. 10 minutes later a different waitress brings us a melting bowl of it, explaining that their freezer is malfunctioning, and do I mind that the ice cream is like this? Kid's eyes are fastened on gooey ice cream, so I say fine. It taste it and it tastes old. Like freezer, and mildly gritty. The sushi is good.

The sushi here is fine. Certainly nothing to gush about, but it is mediocre suburban NJ sushi. I used to order delivery here fairly regularly when I was craving sushi and didn't want to leave my apartment (I mean, the delivery aspect was really the only reason I kept returning to this place). Tonight I called in my usual order, and was told that there is a "new delivery minimum" of $30. It must be VERY new, considering I ordered the same meal one week ago with no issue. Don't get me wrong... I understand the reason behind delivery minimums.... But when you've been ordering from the same place quite frequently without issue and all of a sudden-without warning- you can't anymore..... It's very annoying. Especially when you can't over-order sushi just to meet the minimum and keep the leftovers.... Needless to say, this place has lost my business. The food just isn't worth the $30 price tag for the convenience of delivery.

A dungeon of a place. I went against my better judgment and did not go to Momoya, where the staff is awesome& the sushi is great. Everyone wears a frown here. The sushi guys roll your sushi and don't even look at you. Unpleasant place to consume lunch. Go to Momoya on Broad street in Bloomfeild where they smile and greet you and then roll your sushi.

Great food. Not sure what the previous reviews were saying. This is my go to spot when I'm in the area. My favorite is the Bahamas Clam salad and their gigantic speciality rolls. Also Salmon egg with a quail egg on top is a must.

Came to have dinner with my wife. Definitely chose the wrong place! Ordered a sumo roll. I think it was on the specials menu or something like that. This is the most tasteless sushi I've ever had in my life! Like a month ago I decided to try sushi at Whole Foods! That in comparison is 10 times better. Wow this place has gone to the dogs. My wife ordered seafood teriyaki and specifically asked about the vegetables. When the meal came there were 2 pieces of broccoli, a slice of tomato cut in half and... nothing else. It's not even about money but this is definitely not worth it!!

Sushi is solid, and service is good. I haven't been here in a while but used to be a place I would check out at least once a month. Very fresh fish, and delicious soup and salad. I would still go back and recommend you to try it.

I have been to several sushi spots in the area. This is easily the best. All the eel rolls are tasty.

This place is great for an evening for two our for larger groups with advance notice. One of my favorite places to eat.

Consistently solid Sushi and service. Never outstanding, but always good or great. I eat here every month or so and we cater a large Christmas order ($130 assortment of rolls and sushi) every year and it's been great the past 5 years. Highly recommended.

The service her was a flat zero. 20 mins just to ask for drinks and take an order. The kani salad we got was missing have the ingredients. The sashimi was good and the rolls were good to be fair, but they tasted the same and didn't stand out from one another

Went to Mt. Fuji for lunch with my family today and encountered extraordinarily rude service from the young woman who was our waiter. At one point I raised my hand to flag her down to get some water and she yelled at me from across the restaurant that I should wait. When she came to the table with our food, she rudely demanded, "what do you want?" in response to my raised hand and we repeated our request for water. We had requested water more than once, when she brought it, she slammed it on the table and stormed away. She wanted to fill my ginger ale glass with water and didn't understand why we needed additional glasses. The food was good. The service was horrendous and this experience will affect our returning to Mt. Fuji.

I ordered take out and they didn't include the rice that should accompany the entree. How can you enjoy a Japanese meal without rice?

The sushi was decent! The service was absolutely horrible. I would never come back here just because the service was that terrible. We had 2 servers in one night and both women were so rude and ruined a lovely evening with my fiance who I haven't seen in 3 months and it was my last night in town and thank goodness we got a cab to get out of there as soon as possible.

Very unfortunate that this restaurant has degraded so badly over the last few months. lackluster sushi and unbelievably poorly prepared kitchen entrées means that we won't be coming back anytime soon. Incredibly poor customer service is well... Which really disappoints me given previously positive experiences.

Our go-to place for local Japanese. Our son loves it and the food is always fresh and delicious. The staff are sweet and courteous. We try different dishes from time to time but the sushi is always the way to go. Unless it's winter and then their udon soups hit the spot the best.

Bento box and Man in black Roll are my favorite. The quality is good and the place is clean. It's my regular take out place when I crave for sushi
