if you have never seen a ski jump place, gotta give it a try. You go up to the top by the ski lift which is fun. At the top, you can feel how high and steep the ski jump thing is. Also you can view the whole Sapporo City. You can grab beer, ice cream, tea, etc and enjoy the view. There is a Sapporo Olympic museum too. You can buy a ticket to see both at a discounted price.

I was taking the creaky chairlift to the top of the Mt. Okura Ski Jump, the snow lightly falling on my lap, when I turned around and took a look at the city. One of the most beautiful views my retinas have ever been blessed to see. You get a vast view of the city from the top, the Sapporo skyline popping out like little legos out of the ground. I felt like I was in a snow globe. These kinds of views really have me pondering my place in the world and in the universe. What does it all really mean? There is a cafe at the top to get a coffee or some snacks, along with a direct view of the ski jump that hosted the Olympics back in 1972. You get the vantage point the skiers get when they are about to drop in. I got the heebie-jeebies just thinking about having to do that. I don’t want any of that smoke. They built different. When in Sapporo, you gotta come here to gain some perspective. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__

Really amazing and interesting. Great view at the top and coming down on the chair lift. You can walk up. There is a side track for people keen.

One of the cooler experiences I’ve had in Sapporo, the views of the city are beautiful and the size of the ski jump is breath taking. Unfortunately the Olympic museum is closed until March 2023 for renovations. Absolutely worth the trip, we took a taxi because it would have been about double as long a trip from the hotel to actually arrive at the ski jump. The cafe had curry breads and meat pastries that were good, even if they were warmed in the microwave.

The site of the Olympic Ski Jump and one takes the chairlift up to the top of the station. Coincidentally (or not) there was a skier practicing off the jump! Very nice souvenir shop with some original items.

This place offer perfect view of Sapporo city. It has a small ice cream shop up there. What a great experience eating ice cream with snow falling and the white Sapporo view.

Pros: very cool that the 1972 Winter Olympics ski jump was here. Beautiful scenes. Great ice cream and other snacks in the morning. Ample parking. Cons: not so easy to access by public transit. Fees for museum and lift a but much. Food also not cheap. Inattentive or indifferent staff. Overall: as part of a bus tour, great! But out of the way and expensive. Worth a visit for the historical value.
