22 Best Things to Do in Napa Valley

A solid good hike. I’d say it is moderate at best. Park at the RLS State Park signs off Hwy 29. It’s about a half mile through the woods to the Stevenson marker. All told it’s .92 miles from Hwy 29 to the access road. The wooded part is either hard packed dirt or uneven rocky trails. Definitely watch your footing. Once one the access trail it’s another 3.08 miles along an access road with loose dirt and gravel up to the south peak’s picnic tables. All told it’s 4 miles to the south peak and you’re rewarded with great views. It’s another 1.7 miles to the north peak if you’re feeling peckish. There is no water available and no sun shade once you’ve reached the access road. TLDR; moderate hike in the beginning. Bring good hiking shoes, water and a hat. Reward are a good exercise and great views of the surrounding area

(July 2023) Beautiful hike to the top! Not too step, but it can get hot in the summer. Bring extra water. Not a hard climb if you’re in shape, but don’t bring your noob hiker friends or they might not have a good time. STUNNING views at the top. I’m taking off one star because to get to the peak, you definitely have to pass some “private property” signs, which sketched me out. I think a telecom company owns the land at the top? There are some radio towers and propane tanks up there. Interesting to see but a little odd. The companies also need to practice Leave No Trace and not litter debris along the trail. The views at the top are indescribably awesome, though. Sweeping views of Napa valley.

Beautiful hike with all types of terrain, and very neatly kept. The snow melted about 3 days ago 😭😭 however we saw a lot of snow along the sides, and there was a little here and there on the trail. The waterfall near the entrance is amazing, and view from the top is breathtaking. All in all no complaints, just wish we timed the hike better so we would see full snow.

Amazing views! Easy to walk, just super long and no shade, so dont come here in the summer unless it is early in the morning.

Mt. Saint Helena is about a five mile hike to the summit and the first mile is single track trail and the remaining four miles are open fire road. Due to the trail being a 10 mile round trip it will take you 3-4 hours to complete and due to recent fires there is very little to no shade on the hike for the fire road portion. Bring water and start you hike early in the day for Spring to Fall. Best to hike on a clear day for the best views and there are 360 degree views from the summit.

Absolutely spectacular. A one of a kind landscape. This one of a kind landscape could only be found in Northwestern California. Don’t leave California without visiting Mount Saint Helena. You don’t want to have this as a regret on your travel list of places to go. You will make memories and take beautiful photographs by coming here. Have fun and truly enjoy yourself.

Great Trail with great views at the top if the conditions allow it.
