MU Hotel

This hotel offers a pleasant stay with several positive aspects. Firstly, it boasts ample parking, although it operates on a first-come, first-served basis. The location is highly strategic, placing you within easy reach of local shops and street vendors, allowing you to immerse yourself in the vibrant Ipoh neighborhood. The rooms are exceptionally clean and well-equipped with a range of amenities. While the lack of a swimming pool might be a drawback for some, the spacious rooms with large windows (though lacking balconies) provide a comfortable and airy environment. The breakfast spread is decent, offering a selection of options including eggs, croissants, and rice with various condiments.

Very good for a hotel advertised as 3 stars. Although the rooms are compact, they are clean and all the required amenities. They provided a shaving kit and body lotion which other 4 stars accommodation do not. Service was exceptional throughout. I had several interaction with the reception staff with additional requesr and they appeared to genuinely care and were very helpful. - very rare to come across. Breakfast variety was decent. Overall fantastic value for the price paid.

Clean hotel to stay in and rooms were relatively clean. Interestingly they provided bolster for each bed.Not alot of amenities but it's ok.Location wise it's not near to Concubine Lane but there are many coffee shops and near to Ipoh Tong Sui Kai which have many eateries stalls and dessert. It is also near to Palo 101 which there is a Beans Factory where u eat good dessert.

Has stayed here a few times. The room is reasonable clean, staffs is very friendly and very knowledgeable on local eateries to recommend. The standing shower water pressure is excellent and good dark out curtain is a plus. The bed use to be very comfortable to sleep on but recent stay not sure why they added another thin mattress on top of the mattress making the sleep not as good as before. Another annoying thing was on new year eve the noise from an event on the roof top well past midnight will be a issue for those sleeping early.

See photo.||Dislikes: |(1) Hotel’s location is not the most convenient for walking to the usual tourist places in Ipoh town. |(2) Check-in staff did not ask whether Agoda had collected the Malaysian tourism tax for the hotel stay (which Agoda had already collected) and almost double-charged me. |(3) Hotel did not check that the room safe was unlocked and usable before assigning the room to me. Wasted time having to chase for remedial action. |(4) The main door to room kept slamming. This was startling to me and annoying to the surrounding rooms/guests. |(5) Toilet seat kept dropping down. You needed to constantly hold it up during use. |(6) Hotel's wifi network was rather slow. |(7) There is an egg station at breakfast but it was not always manned. |(8) The gym on mezzanine floor was kept locked during my stay.

I recently stayed at this hotel during a business trip and had a mixed experience. The room was well-kept, but it wasn’t particularly spacious, which might not be ideal if you need more room to spread out. The lighting in the room was quite dim, which suited me fine, but if you prefer a brighter ambiance, you might find it insufficient.Parking is a bit of a challenge here; the hotel offers limited spaces on a first-come, first-serve basis. If those spots are taken, you’ll need to park at the nearby municipal parking lot, which could be inconvenient depending on your schedule.On the positive side, breakfast was a highlight for me. As someone who enjoys salads, I appreciated the fresh and healthy options they provided to start the day.Overall, while there are some limitations, this hotel can be a decent choice depending on your priorities.

This is my return stay with MU Hotel. I am continually impressed by their exemplary services and dedication to providing a good stay. My family were stranded in Ipoh due to a cancelled flight. Upon hearing about our situation, they immediately reached out to the airline and provided us (and other strandees) with another night's stay. I am truly thankful for the help rendered and will definitely be back for our visits to Ipoh. P.S. The view from the room is awesome!

Dear MU Hotel Manager’s I am writing to express my concern regarding an unsettling situation that occurred during my stay at MU hotel On 15/2/2025, I checked into room and was surprised when another group of guests arrived at the same time and were assigned to the same room. This situation was very uncomfortable, as I was already in the room and had not been notified about any mix-up or change in my booking. This caused unnecessary confusion and distress. I kindly request clarification on why this occurred, as well as what steps the hotel will take to ensure that such incidents do not happen in the future.
