It's steps away from two very convenient metro stations, and of course need I repeat that it's situated on Madrid's Gran Via. That's like saying you stay on New York's Times Square. So yeah, it does get a little noisy after 10 p.m. when the musical-going crowd files out after watching Lion King. But hey, at least you have a good view of them and everything that goes on along Gran Via from your balcony.
I felt the pictures were a little misleading. It's not a bad hostel by any means. I mean, just its address on Gran Via makes it good value for money. However, if you have stayed in many hostels, I'm sure some hostels tend to hit above the bar and really make for a memorable stay. This one, though, is just a place you return to sleep at night. There's no social vibe to speak of, no fancy or spacious lounge or common area to mingle with fellow travellers. It's basically an apartment carved out into different rooms for people to sleep. The kitchen is small and narrow, and the bar stools are so uncomfortable and pointless that I would rather stand and eat my breakfast than sit on it. On the topic of breakfast, don't expect much, so you wouldn't be disappointed.
