Muckleston & Brockwell - A Fine Butchery

Hands down the best butcher ever. Not only do they have excellent quality of meats (burger, steak, sausage, eggs, chicken) all of which I have purchased and enjoyed. They go the extra mile and will make fresh chicken bone broth for my pup who is in her last weeks of life and needs protein to help her feel better. Thank you for your compassion and humanity. I will be a loyal customer for life.

I've been a very happy customer of M&B since it first opened its doors. The quality of meat is second to none, and I can't say how much I appreciate the guidance I've received over the years on how to correctly handle various cuts of meat - my steaks are perfect! I also get my Thanksgiving turkeys here every year without fail and have always ended up with a tasty, juicy bird to share with my family. Andy is an incredibly kind and generous person who has donated many times to the adoption group I volunteer with. He's hand pressed hundreds of burgers over the years that have helped to fund an adoption program for retired racing greyhounds. The rest of the M&B team are amazing as well - always kind, polite and helpful. Go support this amazing local business!

Superb butcher in the centre of Ottawa. Andrew and his team are really professional and have good cut of meats. We were really pleased with their services and the quality of the meat is awesome. Recommend 💯!

Excellent and pleasurable experience. As a retired Chef and Home Ec Domestic Science graduate, I appreciate the quality of their products. They have found excellent local products for their customers and will get whatever you need or want. The lamb chops are tender and tasty, excellent quality. Ribs were meaty and gobbled up by the grandchildren who were licking their fingers with delight…not sure if it was the meat or my special winner of a BBQ sauce:) The Owners are pleasant and happy to discuss your needs.

Neighbourhood charm meets quality products. Fairly priced and love the specialty chips from Spain. Tried the fresh pasta made in house 👌

Went to an event recently where they were serving these amazing hamburgers. Host told me they were from Muckleston & Brockwell, so I had to try them out for myself. Top quality meats. Would recommend.

High quality meats and conversation from an experienced and passionate butcher makes this my favourite place for meat in the Ottawa area. Burgers are great in summer. A full range of steaks and cuts. Chicken tender and freshly prepared. Pork loin and a revolving range of sausages. Easily put in a special order and your wish is served. The recent aging cabinet makes for extra flavour for those special occasions. If you are at a loss then ask and you'll hear great ideas for the range of meats available. Plus pure stocks (without sugar) and other local seasonal goodies. Have the pleasure of supporting a local business without paying over the odds to get locally sourced meats farmed for health of beast and man.

I came to get a rib steak and to try out their quality of meat. The service was really helpful and friendly; they really know their meat! I wanted a smaller piece, so the person working cut me a smaller piece from the big piece of beef. The beef itself was aged well, but could have been more tender. I'm not in a hurry to try it again (I felt Saslove's meat quality was much more tender), but as for the beef's flavour, it was more pronounced. They also have a bone broth station, which I tried. I got the beef broth (more expensive to make than chicken), and added seaweed, scallions, and salt/pepper (to taste; I like that the broth doesn't have salt already)! It was a perfect cup of goodness on a cold day.

Over the past two weeks I have shopped at this wonderful butcher shop (we have Vancouver family in town & they're fussy about their beef:-). They were 'wowed' by the two dinners I served featuring M&B Beef. One was a pot roast that was absolutely amazing. Followed by the best beef tenderloin any of has ever tasted!! It's worth every penny to get the top of the line & that's exactly was M&B offers.

This is an excellent addition to the neighbourhood. The house that it occupies has been nicely renovated and has a country home feel to it. In front are displays of cooking and BBQing accessories and the shelves are lined with preserves, pickles and locally made Salsa. At the back is where the true beauty lies. A counter with the most mouth watering cuts of beef, pork, chicken and sausages. Beyond that is a very large butcher's table where everything is expertly trimmed and/or cut to order. I went with a flank steak for grilling ( Last night ) and a fine piece of Brisket ( for tomorrow ). The flank Steak was amazing. I can hardly wait to get to work on the Brisket.

The Butcher is in! That's their tag line and I love it. After mourning the closing of Your Corner Butcher, I had to find a new shop close to me that featured meats from locally farmed livestock. The butchers are passionate about their craft and eager to please: you can ask for specific cuts too, even spatchcock chicken (which I hate doing myself). The sausages are all handcrafted: best merguez I've had in a little long time. They also carry their own line of steak sauces and marinades as well as offer produce from a local farmer. This shop is absolutely lovely, super clean and the staff/owners are awesome. Find them on Beechwood, near St-Charles church just before Hemlock.

This is an easy and frequent "go to" when preparing for an occasion or a meal. Very good selection. The butchers are always willing to either help you make your decision or to go the extra mile to get you what you need. Vegetables, bread, some dairy and some sauces can even make it a one stop shop for groceries.

Love this place. Amazing, friendly service. The meat is so much better then I have purchased any place else. Lots of sweet and savory pies if I need a quick meal. I wouldn't think of being without their store made bone broth (beef, chicken). All this and they have a parking lot so I'm not lugging my bags down the street. Couldn't be happier everytime I shop there.
