Mudhouse Coffee Springfield

A bunch of friends & I met at The Mudhouse for a fun meeting on a Saturday at 10am. My first time to this location. Nice atmosphere, food, beverages, and service. We were able to get a large table for our group. It smells wonderful in there with all the foods they were cookin' up!☺️🥯🌯🍞🥐🍩🧁☕️🧋

I had a phenomenal experience and it occurred to me that I should leave a review. The interior is very rustic and cozy, and the service was great—the employees were all very jovial the day I visited. Additionally, and more important to mention, I have been trying to recreate my order at home ever since my initial visit. It’s like a dream that I can’t quite remember. I’m fairly certain it was a limited time item and is no longer available, but it was so exceptional that I feel motivated to taste test the entire menu. Six stars for the food and coffee alone.

I took my children for smoothies and brownies, something we do every other week. Yesterday the smoothies and frozen coffee ☕ wasn't blended with enough ice and very watery. The last visit was the same. The coffee was delicious that was brewed, and very hot. The weekend prior it wasn't. Mudhouse doesn't have any milk options out such as almond milk or oat milk for coffee in case you're vegetarian or lactose intolerant. They said it's 85 cents for additional milk options for your coffee. During yesterday's visit I requested they punch my card for my last visit because I forgot to ask. The cashier said if I could find my last receipt or bank statement she would honor it and put my missing punch,which is supposed to earn me a free drink after 12 visits. So I returned with my screen shot of my Bank statement. The other two cashiers or workers surrounded her on each side and said we're sorry ma'am she's knew she didn't know she's not allowed to honor that time. I said well I spend between 30 and $40 each time I come here and that's really not fair I'm just trying to earn my way to a free coffee and I just forgot last time. The male and the photograph with the curls said "it's not our problem if you can't remember things Karen" I said I assure you that is not okay to treat me this badly, your burritos are cold inside half the time,you gave us watery drinks, both last visit and this one and your coffee is cold almost every single Sunday evening we come. I said I would like to speak to your manager or you need to call her on the phone because I want a refund, I was told I was not allowed to have a refund. I told them I was going to take a picture of them for my review and I was going to tell everyone how badly they treated us.So they posed for the picture smiling. They tried to call after us when we were leaving an hour later "mam,mam, excuse me mam" It's funny how I went from "Karen" to mam when leaving an hour later. I didn't speak to them any longer and the trio continued laughing at us as we left. I felt like I was in highschool again,I guess that's what happens when you leave children in charge of the business on weekends with no management or supervision.

Staff always friendly and patient. Variety of food and beverages, everything I’ve tried has been delightful. Wonderful atmosphere for studying, working, gathering with friends, doing arts and crafts, etc. Always good music playing. Definitely one of my favorite places downtown.

A very nice eclectic coffee house. Serves excellent coffee joined with a warm atmosphere. The downtown Springfield Christmas decor added to the experience. I recommend it for a relaxed time.

Amazing staff and decent options available for hot coffees. Very reasonable prices but the atmosphere leaves little bit to be desired. Too loud to really enjoy sitting and talking.

Went here twice on our weekend trip to Springfield. Prices are very reasonable and food is delicious. I recommend the boom boom burrito and the toffee latte. So good! We will definitely be back

5/5 local coffee joint. This is the standard by which all other local coffee shops are measured, and Mudhouse delivers time and time again. The hipster staff can be weird, I'll grant you, but they mean well and they deliver good coffee. I like the options. The menu is great. The snacks are good. The food is good when I've ordered it. I've never had any complaints with an item I've purchased here, and I've been a fan for decades now.

Yum!!!!! This coffee shop is nestled in the heart of downtown Springfield. It is very spacious inside and has many seatings options. Tables, benches high tops. The coffee was very good: we got the honey almond latte iced and it was fantastic. The food was good, especially the muffins! Yum! There is free wifi, so very comfy place to work or study. Very nice people working there all as well- over all 8/10 we will be coming back during our visit.

While we were visiting MO State University, we stopped here for a cup of coffee. It's a quaint little coffee shop located in their downtown area. Service was prompt. They had quite a few people in. Some enjoying their coffee while visiting with a friend. Some working on their laptop. This shop also has food and bakery items on their menu, along with coffee and tea products for purchase to go.

This was a treat to come here the other day. After the salesman at the dealership we visited recommended this place, I wanted to go back and thank him. The coffee here was excellent and we were pleased with the roast beef sandwiches that we bought. I even purchased some beans to take home! Additionally, the barristas were friendly and the place was very chill.

I visited on a Saturday morning around 11 AM, and it was packed inside! The line to order wasn't bad, but there wasn't much open seating available. Their menu is huge, so it took me awhile to figure out which coffee I wanted to order! PLENTY of food and drink options, including some fun seasonal drink choices as well which is always a plus. I decided to get an iced lavender latte. My partner and I really like a strong coffee taste when we order iced coffee, but unfortunately both of our drinks tasted more like milk than anything else. We ended up hopping back in line and buying just a double shot of espresso to pour into our drinks. They were much better after that. So maybe we should've ordered our drinks with an extra shot from the get-go! I absolutely LOVE their tea wall. I had fun smelling all the different tea flavors they offer. I'd like to buy some to take home next time. Everything smelled incredible. I also love how there's a giant bulletin board near the entrance for the community to post flyers and local ads. This coffee shop definitely has the small-town hangout spot vibe!

This was a nice spot in Springfield downtown area. Nice staff, good drinks and dessert.

Warm ambiance. Tasty drinks. Friendly service. Recommended by a friend and well worth the try. Large variety of drink offerings. Some pastries and hot food items offered as well. We tried the Wild Tribe Mocha which was a nice mix Cuban coffee and dark chocolate. Our second drink was our go to Mudpuddle which never fails.

I love this local spot for coffee! I've been here a few times when visiting over the years. It's a great place to grab a coffee - and food. It has a unique and inviting decor. There's a good amount of seating indoors and a few tables outside. We went there this morning and it wasn't too busy. There was a steady steam of customers though. The person who took our order was pleasant. We opted to sit outside since it was such a nice morning. Not too long after we placed our order, our drinks were delivers to us and they were tasty! I highly recommend checking them out!

These queer folk make a yummy coffee. Always a good vibe place to relax. If you plan on studying, bring headphones.

The Death by Chocolate muffin is to die for. Yum. Would definitely stop by just for this. Service was fast and efficient.

My girlfriend and I decided that we wanted to try this place while she visited. She is a vegetarian and only orders items marked as such on any menu we try. Everything was fine-- was fine until she decided to bite into the vegetarian burrito which she ordered. The burrito contained sausage and was in fact not the correct item. They did end up refunding the single item that was wrong but that was it really. The carelessness of items coming out of the kitchen is a little gross. My burrito had no contrasting textures, mediocre flavor and wasn't very satisfying; sometimes you do in fact get what you pay for. I would recommend the coffee here (it was good) but wouldn't touch the food again.

I love that they close a little later than other coffee shops. Sometimes you need a little gathering with friends or family; enjoying something warm and cozy. I had the Sugar Daddy which had hazelnut and caramel, it was delicious. I also enjoy the chocolate cheesecake. It was smooth, rich and addicting. We will definitely continue to enjoy this café in the future.

This pleasant downtown Springfield coffee house will have you wishing you would have stayed longer as you sip their own roasted coffee and the array of terrific taste bud treats! I had a blueberry cake donut that melted in my mouth. I tried their Mudhouse blend which is their dark roast. It was perfect. Make this your next stop when you come to downtown Springfield!

Second time coming here. My girl goes to MSU and I come up to visit frequently. For breakfast "The Nigel" is super tasty with their delicious coffee! Go here if you haven't. A great local coffee shop and among my favorite places to visit. Service is wonderful and it's very close to Gailey's if you're looking for more of a breakfast cafe. Both are quite popular here. Let me first say, the shop is soooo cute. Lots of seating options. Clean, friendly and inviting. The staff was super kind. There are several options of baked goods including vegan & gluten-free options. The vegan cookie was great the first couple of bites then I discovered it had nuts I was allergic to. I should have asked yes. But common allergens are marked most places. I had super high hopes for the blueberry sage latte. But the taste was over powered by burnt espresso. I love a deep, dark roast bean. But this wasn't the roast. It was espresso not pulled quite correctly. I would give them a second try. We all have bad days.

Yummy drink and cookie! Service was superb. Why would you pay more at a huge chain when you get better product and service? Will come back.

Hadn't been here in a long time, so stopped in because our usual spot was closed. I got a blended eggnog, the wife an eggnog latte, and the kid a decaf chai. We also got a box of holiday cookies which were the best part! My eggnog blended latte was weak, and no real taste of espresso. My kids chai was also weak and turned into a flavorless slush cube halfway through. My wife's latte was so bitter we had to stop at a gas station for sugar and cream. I don't know what happened because this place use to be pretty good. I'm gonna stick to my regular spot; I hope they get the kinks worked back out after this pandemic.

What a cute local gem! The over all atmosphere is calming, the staff is genuinely helpful and the service is great! Shoutouts to Ellie & Kaylee for their amazing service and attitudes! Tried a matcha latte here- a little bit to sugary but overall decent. They have a wide range of loose leaf teas which I loved. A lot of nice coffee options and local flavors- that you can tell are unique to Mudhouse. They seem to have a decent food selection, although I didn't try anything during this visit. Next time when I'm in the area! Visited the Ozark, Mo location.

so so so good! Not only do they have great coffee, but I also passed by later at night and they were opened at 9 p.m.! This coffee shop has tons of small and large tables to choose from, they also have a couple of couches that you are able to lounge on. From coffee, teas, to breakfast choices and lunch choices; this place has a wide variety for any time of day.

Atmosphere: quite pleasant Espresso shot: very nice, not too bitter or acidic Coffee: Mexican - wonderful cup of coffee - these people know how to brew! Flaky pig: this was a very good sandwich - ham, tomato, Gouda (I think), lettuce, and Mayo on pressed croissant - super tasty, not huge

Great coffee, great service. This coffee house has such a warm atmosphere and they went out of their way to double check some ingredients due to allergy concerns. They have a vast selection of teas (rooibos, black, green, and herbal) and an equity large selection of coffee roasts. I will certainly be returning here the next time I'm in town.

Terrific cafe in the heart of downtown, an unexpected gem. If I lived here I'd hang out here all the time.

Neighborhood staple that is very inclusive. However they need at least one vegan food option. Very sad and surprising that they don't. Been coming here for nearly 20 years. It's 2023. How do places still not have at least one option. They would get so much more money.

Stopped here for some work with my family and it was a great choice! Tons of coffee and smoothie options, excellent drip, and great service. The vibe is lively but not overwhelming. Would recommend! Also, they have excellent vegan brownies and delicious blueberry scones.

Mudhouse is a chill, large cafe that attracts the likes of students and hipsters and those that are in between. Our friend invited us here to chill after dinner, and she had mentioned that they served alcoholic coffee drinks. Unfortunately, we had mixed up this spot with nearby "Mudlounge" so they were purely a coffee/tea shop with a smoothie on the side. I ordered myself a Chai Latte ($4) to nurse myself back to health after being in a vehicle for tons of hours. While I wanted a deliciously, fragrant chai beverage, I ended up getting a watered-down cinnamon spice latte that really didn't do much for me. I made the comparison to Starbucks and said I'd rather have their version! Definitely a pass for me. However, my friend's all enjoyed heir chocolate smoothies and coffee that they got from here. Listen to them and go for the pure caffeine or sugar, and not the in-between. You'll be better off at the Mudhouse that way.

This is such a good hipster coffee place, and in the heart of the Midwest of all places. You can get your caffeine fix from any number of the speciality ordered drinks, including coffee and tea, or get a pretty amazing fruit smoothie. Any of their food is excellent, and that includes literally everything on the menu. This is a great hangout location, and it's in a good spot to stop by while shopping, going to a concert, or barhopping with friends. One of the iconic downtown Springfield classics, this place is an absolute must visit for anyone checking out the city for the first time.

Very nice coffee shop on the main stretch of Springfield. There seem to be a big selection of coffee shops in this area and Mudhouse was great. My drink was the "Mudturtle" or something similar. Pretty good, Starbucks prices comparable. Nice decor. Very fast free WiFi. Make sure you use a VPN for security though, the network was not secure. No pics today but try it if you're around.

Perfect place, anytime of the day to get a coffee, smoothie or snack. People are super kind and friendly and its very cozy.

One of, if not the, best blended drink menus in town. The kids seem to love that. While they have good coffee, for me it is the food and soups that set them apart as their niche in the Springfield coffee shop world. They do offer a couple of GF cookie/brownie options, which is safe even for those with celiac.

My daughter and I have been making at least a bi-monthly trek, from Nixa, to this establishment. The coffeehouse clientele is one of my favorites. My hands-down preference for a cold coffee drink is the "Grasshopper." It has the right touch of mint to cool and go with my usual large chocolate chip, or vegetarian cookie. Last week when we visited we each tried a doughnut from their own bakery. Mmm, one of the best ever had. Stephanie enjoyed a "Summer Soother," smoothie. During the cooler winter months, she normally favors one of the myriad of teas. While I prefer various cups of hot coffee. The house blends have usually been exactly what my palette desired. This is a good vibes coffeehouse. It is reminiscent of ones frequented back in the 1970s

I was craving a delicious dark roast with some espresso shots to get a boost on the day so I stopped in to the Mudhouse. I was underwhelmed by the service and although it was slow my coffee took almost 10-minutes to get roasted. Also, I ordered a large and it was only 12oz's not the standard 16oz that you find at most coffee houses.

I've been going to the Ozark location until their employee decided to call the police on us. Our kids are never buckled up in their drive thru bc it always takes forever!! I always wondered why all their employees gave me the dirty looks when I pulled up to their window!? Well this past Labor day, when the whole family was enjoying our day off- one of their employees popped out of the drive thru window to randomly ask us what kind of family car we owned, he told us he was "shopping for one". Would never think anything evil of that request until we parked to eat our breakfast and two police officers arrived to check on us. They were very nice and told us since they were called, they wanted to make sure we had car seats for our kids. Of course we did!!! They gave our kids stickers and confirmed our children are required to be in car seats on legal roads NOT in drive thru's!! I went inside the cafe to ask why they called the police!? And that same employee that asked us the model of our car looked so red in the face. SHAME ON YOU MUDHOUSE!!! You have lost not one, but MANY customers! As we told our family and friends of this incident- one after another was in disbelief and stated they will no longer support Mudhouse and their extremely rude employees!!! We will support Urban Grounds across the street from now on!!

Very good coffee, nice atmosphere , friendly staff . I bought a pound of coffee (which they sell in "whole bean" and will grind up at your request.) they have different blends and flavors. They also sell an assortment of teas that are very good.

Many locals consider Mudhouse one of the most notable coffee shops in Springfield, and it collects the dollars of college students (or their parents' money) on the reg. I camped out there for several hours looking to hire someone and got caffeinated, got a bite, and finished some work. Things to know: ***** I. LOCATION & PARKING: This institution resides on South Avenue aka the main artery of the city. Parking, though, is available all around. Finding it from the street, too, shouldn't be an issue. II. FOOD & DRINK: They offer fresh baked goods, soups, sandwiches, and roast their beans. They also create crazy espresso-concoctions. I tried the following: *Snickerdoodle Latte: Comes with vanilla and cinnamon, it's like ingesting a snickerdoodle cookie with your coffee. It was fun to try once, but I wouldn't do so again. * Espresso: Super strong and tasty. Not necessarily memorable, though. *Cold Brew: Smooth and not acidic. I would recommend this. **Peanut Butter Cookie: Yes. Give me all of the carbs. III. SERVICE: I didn't have any problems with their service. I found Mudhouse's staff to be polite, and I got my order without waiting too long. FYI, their wifi is a bit spotty. They need to upgrade their service to increase the bandwidth or something. IV. AMBIANCE & DECOR: It has the same aesthetic as the coffee shop from friends. It's granola-y, fun, and welcoming. V. PRICES: Affordable. Nothing outrageous here. I think you get your monies-worth. VI. OVERALL: If you're in Springfield for a couple of days, I think checking out Mudhouse at least once is a must.

If you are in downtown Springfield, make a stop at the Mudhouse. If you are not in downtown Springfield, well then you need to get going. Yummy food. Baked goods on point. Coffee is phenomenal. Ambiance is an A+++. You will not be disappointed.

Lovely little Springfield coffeehouse, perfect for the area's college crowd. It's spacious enough for studiers to spread out with their laptops, tablets, books, have a group discussion or sit solo and enjoy a hot cup of Joe with your freshly prepared lunch. I opted for the 1/2 Veggie Love, no cream cheese of course & Mud Moka shake-like smoothie. The Veggie Love came loaded with fresh greens, mushroom, tomato, roasted red peppers, red onion and a light sun dried tomato dressing all stuffed inside a spinach wrap. My Mud Moka was a dark chocolatey conception of coffee, cinnamon, peanut butter, almond milk, banana and other tasty ingredients I can't recall. Just know it was heavenly. My dinning partner chose the 1/2 Cranberry Turkey sandwich 1/2 Greek Freak salad both of which he absolutely loved. The service was very friendly and hospitable, the café was nice, clean and well organized. They offer a plethora of bulk teas along with free wifi, calendars, great artwork, unique furniture pieces, pastries, cold brew filling station and more. Give it a whirl, ~Christy

I liked my coffee I ordered the Cold Brew Puddle freeze! I went on a Sunday there were lots of people enjoying their coffee inside!

The coffee is really good! The atmosphere is so chill. The staff is always super friendly! Great for evenings downtown!

Service was terrible. Placed my order, waited forever then finally asked about it. They had forgotten it apparently, then threw some coffee in spilling over and gave it to me. I couldn't get anyone to give me the sweetner that they had behind the counter. It was terrible and I just threw it away.
