I visited yesterday and had a truly satisfying dining experience that perfectly reflects the restaurant’s reputation for authentic flavors. I ordered chicken biryani along with chicken kanti and naan, and every dish exceeded my expectations.
The chicken biryani was aromatic, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The rice was long-grained and well layered with spices, while the chicken pieces were tender and juicy, absorbing the rich masala beautifully. What stood out most was the balance of spices—bold yet not overpowering—giving the biryani a genuinely authentic taste rather than a commercial one.
The chicken kanti was equally impressive. It was perfectly grilled with a smoky aroma, coated in a thick, flavorful gravy that paired wonderfully with the soft, freshly baked naan. Each bite was rich, mildly spicy, and deeply satisfying, making it clear that quality ingredients and traditional cooking methods are a priority here.
The ambience of Mughal Darbar remains simple and classic, allowing the food to take center stage. Despite being busy, the service was prompt and well-managed, and the staff was polite and attentive throughout the visit.
Overall, my experience at Mughal Darbar was excellent. The food quality, authentic spices, generous portions, and consistent taste make it one of the best places in Srinagar for anyone craving real, traditional flavors. I would highly recommend this restaurant to both locals and visitors looking for a memorable and authentic dining experience.
