Muhammad Mosque

This is a 1000 years old mosque exquisitely maintained. Currently it is converted into Quran museum. Mostly the tourist miss out on seeing this beautiful place but it's a must to see when site seeing the old Baku city. It's not an active mosque and hence Namaz can't be offered here. The ambiance and the the aura of this place is at its peak during morning time. It's certainly depicts the epitome of Islamic times.

Location is a little bit difficult to find, and door is locked, cannot go inside.

Beautiful mosque.

The mosque is transformed to a Holy Text (Quran) Museum. The museum is quite beautiful mosque, with a good inventory of items that are displayed there. It seems the mosque-museum attract less than what is expected visitors and tourists, but it worth than you might consider. I really enjoyed visiting this museum. Recommended!

Hard to believe it is still standing since the 11th century. Worth passing by to experience the history of the Old City
