25 Best Golf Courses in the World

"This course was originally created by Thomas Mitchell Morris, also known as Old Tom Morris, who designed courses throughout the United Kingdom. Revisions through the years have maintained its unique circular layout, with the front nine circling clockwise around the perimeter of the property and the back nine going counterclockwise on an inner circuit." - Travel + Leisure Editors

What to say about such a beautiful and famous links/club. It definitely lives up to its reputation. Absolutely perfect in every way, all the people and facilities. The course is splendid and the playing surfaces are total dream to play on. It felt a fair test of golf too, sometimes the high end courses are very hard work to play for standard golfers, but I felt this was very fair. Brilliant 🤩

Wonderful course in great condition on a November morning. Lunch was outstanding. Service and hospitality very friendly and professional. One of our fourball had a hole in one on the par 3 7th hole. All in all a perfect day.

Top notch experience and difficult course. There a certainly rules here compared to other clubs but it's well worth it. Fantastic staff and the caddies were excellent as well. ⛳

Lives up to the hype, the back nine especially. An outstanding experience from start to finish. Felt special other than you can't purchase food unless you book the lunch. The golf course made up for it. Though I felt like Lawrence of Arabia having visited every bunker. Bunkers are well placed to catch every shot , and the design means you have difficulty getting out and if you can not in the direction you want. I play off 6 and I loved it

Stumbled upon this hidden gem in early November on a wet and windy day. Got paired up with 3 strangers but as luck would have it we got along really well, sharing a nice Laphroaig PX. The place oozes history - apparently golf has been played here for hundreds of years? I don’t really understand why there weren’t more playing as the staff were really very accommodating. After the round we had a lunch in what seemed like a very old clubhouse, with lots of oil paintings on the wall. Someone bought a round of drinks called Kümmel and soon the fatigue set in. If you’re in the area I’d recommend stopping by - even in bad weather a very pleasant way to spend a day. Would take away half a star for not having yardages or SI on the very nice tee boxes - but can’t. /s - it was a wonderful day and a once in a lifetime experience ;-)

Visited Muirfield in Mid March. The course was in fantastic condition. All main greens and tees No mats and it felt like summer. The views from the course are superb. The layout and design is all brilliant. From the moment we arrived the staff were amazing Very polite, welcoming and attentive. The standard of service was flawless. The clubhouse is very traditional and is a real privilege to see it and experience the history. We also stayed for the buffet roast lunch which was superb and very high quality. A brilliant experience from start to finish.

A very tough course for an amateur but very enjoyable. From the moment we walked through the gates we felt the history and tradition all around us. We hired a caddy for the round which is highly recommended as this made a huge difference. The clubhouse is very formal but again a great experience. Buffet lunch was very nice and will definitely return.
