My summer visit to Muktinath was peaceful and refreshing, with pleasantly cool weather and a calm atmosphere throughout the journey. The trails were less dusty, and the air felt crisp—perfect for a spiritual retreat.
However, the views of the majestic Himalayas were mostly hidden due to unexpected fog and light rain. While the weather made the hike more comfortable, it also meant missing out on the iconic mountain panoramas. Still, the serenity of the temple and the overall experience made the trip worthwhile.
One of the most challenging parts of the journey was using the local bus services. While the landscape of Mustang is stunning, the condition of public transportation left much to be desired. The buses were overcrowded, often packed beyond capacity with both passengers and their luggage, making the ride extremely uncomfortable. The roads, although improved in some areas, are still rough and narrow in others, and the buses struggled to navigate sharp turns and steep inclines.
