Muku

As a sucker for ramen, I’ve tried pretty much every second ramen place in Germany even Düsseldorf. In Frankfurt-Mainz area I’ve tried every ramen place even the newly opened ones. When I was in Japan I was mainly hunting for ramen from the ranking list called RamenDB. I’ve tried the no 1 ramen in Japan which was literally out of this world (not exaggerating), but I can say that I know what the standard of a good ramen is. Muku is by far the best ramen I’ve had in Germany. My favorite is their Tonkotsu Ramen, even though I usually love Tsukemen more. There is a newly opened ramen in Berlin which I haven’t tried and supposedly resemble Ichiran Japan, however until I try that one, Muku is still the best in Germany. The only downside of it is the portion size of the ramen. It’s pretty small and a bit expensive. But for the quality, I always come back. I also especially love their sashimi rice bowl that they typically suggest before eating the ramen. Again here I know the standard of a good sushi since I’ve tried one of the best tuna sushi in Japan, which was the only time I cried of happiness because of food😅 Anyway, their sashimi bowl is heavenly good for Germany. Their other appetizers never really fail too, but I love their sashimi bowl and ramen the most, and I think it’s the best price-performanc-ratio-wise. Make sure to come 30 mins before their opening time on Saturday for the lunch time, line up and register your name, because they only offer Ramen in the afternoon and you can’t reserve a table for lunch time.

The restaurant is really beautiful and service is very lovely!⭐ Ramen is okay. Not my cup of tea, since I prefer more normal to al dente noodles (kansetsu or futsuu) and more meat on my Tonkotsu Ramen. I know you can add meat, but think for the price, only one piece is a bit disappointing :(. I have been there twice so I got to try many different options. In my opinion it's too overpriced for what it delivers and would opt for other Ramen restaurants in the city.

The food was absolutely delightful, and the ambiance truly whisked me away to Japan. Every bite was a reminder of the rich flavors and traditions, making the experience all the more special. I felt as if I were dining in a cozy Tokyo eatery, surrounded by the warmth of Japanese culture.

The ramen was delicious, the food was of Japanese quality, and the staff were very attentive.

Had Ramen & mini bowl for lunch. Wonderful taste for both of them! Since price is quite high, put 4 stars but worth to visit if you want to get a real Ramen from Japan

I had the pleasure of dining at Muku in Frankfurt today, and I must say, it was an absolutely outstanding experience. I went alone, but from the moment I stepped in, I felt completely welcomed and at ease. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and warm—I’ve never felt so well taken care of in a restaurant before. The food was simply exceptional, bursting with flavor and perfectly prepared. Every bite was a delight. On top of that, the ambiance was beautiful, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere that made the whole experience even more enjoyable. I honestly can’t find a single negative thing to say, even if I tried. This was one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had, and I will definitely be coming back. I highly recommend Muku to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience. Thank you to the entire team for making my visit so special!

The food was truly incredible. Me and my wife thoroughly enjoyed it. The value for price is very good and there was nothing we could complain about. This is no doubt one of the best Japanese restaurants we have dined in.

One of my favorite ramen restaurants in the world, and quality is on par with some of the better ramen I’ve had in Japan (and beats a lot of others). Visited 3 years ago in 2021 and again in December 2024, and the food was just as good as I remembered. Ordered the Muku ramen (a mix of chicken and pork bone broths) and the tonkatsu ramen (pork bone broth), and both were so flavorful. One additional aspect that stands out about this restaurant’s ramen is how the noodles actually carry so much of the broth’s flavor. For dessert, ordered the black sesame ice cream (and had actually been looking forward to having this again for a while now). If we had more time, would have loved to order from the more expansive menu. Muku imports high quality sakes, and also offers a wide selection of tapas - done so to emulate how in Japan, there’s a culture of drinking, sharing tapas, and then finishing the night with a hearty bowl of ramen (except now you can do all the above at one establishment). Loved how the tapas are organized on the menu across two axis - level of aroma, and level of richness.

Visiting one of my favorites again. Service is great. Food is Oishii! Try the Ramen obviously.

ramen muku is conveniently located, prices are quite low. And the quality of the food is excellent, everything is very tasty, the portions are hearty, the toilet is clean. In fact, this is now one of my favorite places where you can have a hearty and inexpensive meal!

Excellent ramen and services here at Muku. My husband and I actually first heard about this place at Ramen Museum in Japan where their ramen was one of the handful ramen restaurant showcased at the museum (yes, you can actually eat there!). We had an overnight layover in Frankfurt and decided to visit for dinner. We were not disappointed! I ordered Miso Ramen, which was made with pasta dough. Apparently, they had experimented with making noodles using locally-available ingredients. What an idea. This might have made the noodles more substantial and made me full quicker but it tasted great! Broth was thicker side but complimented the thicker noodles well. An order of miso ramen was very generous in quantity. We also enjoyed plum wine and citrus (yuzu) sake. They were both really yummy!

My favourite japanese place in Frankfurt. I am a regular there. I especially enloyed their ramen selection, salted green soybeans and deep friend chicken wings.

Very polite staff and fresh food. The noodles are amazing. Unfortunately nothing vegan, so only 4 stars.

Very nice Japanese restaurant. No sushi!! But very tasty noodle soups and other Japanese dishes. ^^ Service is good like expected for a Japanese restaurant.

I am a huge fan of Ramen. I arrived in Frankfurt on business and noticed this place had good reviews on yelp. I went along with another gentleman and we got there too early and learned they would open in about an hour. We were super hungry, so we went to burger Meister across the street instead. That was really good. We walked around the area. But because I wanted ramen, we went back. It was a bit packed but a table or two was available. One lady said to try back in an hour. We left and went back in 30 mins or so. Another lady seemed as if she was about to seat us. But the lady from earlier came up front and said something to the effect of it being over. There were seats. We were sort of confused because previously the same lady said come back in an hour. I may try to go again today when they open. I am unsure what the issue was, but I hope they are not simply picking and choosing who they will permit to eat at their restaurant. I understand it is their restaurant, but that just seems like a bad choice for a business in Sachenhausen based upon its history.

The food at Muku is excellent. Really, really good. I've visited four times in two weeks, and actions should speak louder than words. You want more details? Okay, fine, I'll oblige. Perhaps it's the season, with plummeting temperatures heralded by bitter winds and freezing rain, but after a tough day at the office there's nothing better than a bowl of hot ramen to cheer the soul. The thick noodles are cooked just right, served in a delicious broth and garnished with marinated eggs and leaves of spinach. There's starters too, but you shouldn't need more than a couple of gyoza dumplings to whet the appetite. The price is right considering the quality of the food -- not too expensive, not too cheap -- and if you enjoy your meal as much as I have, you'll definitely be planning a return visit. Weekends will require making a reservation, but weeknights should be okay to just turn up. SPOILER ALERT: the staff are *very* enthusiastic. Both entrance and exit from the premises are greeted by hollers of welcome and goodbye from each and every member of staff. I thought I'd spare you the shock.

Tasty ramen with many side/starter dishes that makes your tummy happy. prices are fair and the service is friendly and polite. have nothing to complain about and am looking forward to go back soon and share this spot with my friends.

Unexpected...the atmosphere, the greetings from staffs and the quality of your Japanese dishes should be one of the top-notch that you can afford in Frankfurt. As for regular ramen-rater in Japan I gotta tell you the fact that you can order far more quality and reasonable stuff in local ramen store in Kyoto, but nevertheless I felt I need to give them a credit.

My all-time Japanese favorite! Incredibly nice and generous staff, I just keep going there each time I visit Germany. Various dishes, and giving it a Korean touch as well as for side dishes - marvelous and very traditionally Korean Kimchi, I verify it - and the other side dishes are full of joy and taste in its most original form, not forgetting the main dishes, the king of Muku - Ramen - which are a huge bowl of flavour, will leave you full and more than satisfied. A total must!

Amazingly great place for ramen. I never thought I would find authentic ramen in Frankfurt. I really loved eating dinner here. I had a spicy ramen that was good as what I have had travelling anywhere around Asia. They also have nice starters to share such as sliced chicken with truffle oil. The restaurant is cosy with only a few tables. Staff are super friendly. Come here if you like ramen!

I guess it's unique in Frankfurt (not so many authentic places) but otherwise nothing to write home about. The ramen are average ramen you find in a restaurant like this. Service is good. Flavourful but not particularly tasty or creative dishes.

Best real ramen in Frankfurt for sure. The only problem is there is no other real ramen restaurant in Frankfurt to compare!

This place is quite delightful. We went back twice in 3 days. Had 3 different beef appetizers on their menu, all were very tasty. Gyouza is very thin and pan fried to perfection. The ramen is comparable to the LA area. The size of the bowls are small but it's fulfilling. Get your ramen with the deluxe, which comes with extra chasiu, nori, and egg.

Good friendly service, ramen that I had was ok, I don't remember the name, it was chicken with spicy soup. My husband had something normal ramen, it was pretty good.

This is a great place you want to try. Tsukemen ramen is my favorite dish and I just can`t get enough of it! Best ramen place in Frankfurt!

Love this place. Tastiest ramen in Frankfurt by far! Have been here at least a dozen times and the service is always above and beyond, and I could swear the broth keeps getting better and better. Can't give them enough stars.

Echt Japanisches und Nudeln, sehr lecker und gute Atmosphaer!

Many Japanese (including myself) have long been suffering the scarceness of a good Japanese Ramen noodle in Frankfurt - and here's a brand new Japanese Ramen Restaurant in town !! Service was fine, toppings of the Ramen were just great (pork was magnificent and all the vegetables put on top of the Ramen were perfectly fine) - but the noodle and soup (the core) of the Ramen were nothing but out of Japanese standards which you would not expect nor encounter at any Ramen restaurants in Japan. Well, maybe this restaurant is more interested in marketing the locals rather than Japanese, but I doubt that this Ramen is going to work with the locals. The soup is unbelievably dense and the noodles are too thick. Too many ingredients are in the soup and you can't say what the soup is made of. Hope that the Ramen chef there revises his soup and noodle so that we can at least say that "at last, there is a genuine Japanese Ramen restaurant in Frankfurt".

Great authentic Japanese ramen shop. My wife is Japanese so we have tried several ramen shops and by far this is the best in Frankfurt. If you're still not sure, then just remeber... If it wasn't as good, you wouldn't see so many Japanese eating there. Must Go!!!

My husband and I are on the look-out for good Japanese Ramen Noodles in Frankfurt. Unfortunately, Muku doesn't make the cut. While the waiters were very friendly and the service quick, the important Ramen needs some improving. First, the soup/broth: I got their "koge-miso" ramen, which means burnt miso, but it didn't even taste like miso at all. It was probably overcooked without skimming off the scum - it was also in an unnatural gray color. The noodles were also too think and spagetti-like, not what you would expect from a Ramen noodle. Hope the Ramen-shef can watch the famous movie "Tampopo" to revamp his Ramens.

I think Muku's Ramen is best in Germany -even better than several Ramen-Restaurants in Duesseldorf. Also they have not only Japanese waitresses but also one very young and very busty German waitress - it's a pleasure to gaze at her when she's serving the food (-;. Just check the great Ramen when you are at Frankfurt next time!!
