Mumedi Design Hotel (Mexico City, Mexico) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The first wave of boutique hotels in Mexico City was concentrated in the upscale residential districts, but Mumedi takes contemporary design straight to the Zócalo, the city’s vast, bustling central square. It’s a museum first, exhibiting everything from graphic and industrial design to photography, illustration, even architecture. It’s got a design shop stocked with local work, as well as an inventive modern restaurant that combines traditional Mexican cooking with international influences as well as the concept of “food design.”" - Tablet Hotels

This review is specifically for the shop/cafe. I come here whenever I’m in town, they have a really well curated selection of art and design books as well as handcrafted items from local artists and designers. I always find something cool here. I almost hesitate to give away my hidden-in-plain-sight gem but this is a perfect spot to escape the craziness of Madero, grab a coffee and a magazine and maybe see an exhibit!

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at! The hotel is practically in the Zocalo, so it’s perfect to get around and explore Centro. Also very safe! The rooms are big, clean, modern, artistic, have AC/heat. Beds are comfy. Bathrooms have all of your toiletries, and very hot water. The service here is amazing! Everyone is super kind and accommodating. They even bring dessert to your room every night. There is also a restaurant and art gallery within the hotel as well. There is also complimentary breakfast at the hotel every morning, and it’s very good. I definitely recommend for anyone staying in CDMX!

This museum is a labor of love, everyone is friendly, enthusiastic and passionate. I went there and had the guide to myself as you can only visit the museum with a guide, he was very friendly and knowledgeable. There is a wonderful exhibition about "Death with a smile"it was very interesting, I could have stayed there for hours looking at the amazing posters from all over the world. The building is just beautiful and it has been restored by the owner, with love and respect for the architectural style. The cafeteria and store are also a great asset and a place to relax, between museum visits. Please don't miss this amazing museum.

I was there for the arts of skulls exhibit then had a meal out in the patio. All staffs were really sweet and kind and the food really good. Gish taco and quinoa salad. The exhibition itself wasn’t as spectacular as the time out magazine pic. I think the pic was taken from elsewhere. But still fun.

This hotel is amazing! There's an incredible blend of old world charm and modern elegance. Emanuel and Aileen were incredibly gracious and lavished all kinds of attention on us. The restaurant served delicious and beautiful meals. Our room was comfortable and we slept great. We will be staying here again on our way back to the US and I can't wait. Highly recommend!

Love this place. It sells Mexican design articles and other stuff. The gallery always has interesting shows. Last time I was there, it had a photo collection of Chihuahua and Island using a 360 degree camera. Guided tour is 45 pesos, well worth it. Friendly staff.

Excellent place to stay; six rooms on top of the Mumedi gallery and restaurant. Food looks amazing and tastes delicious too. Ask for the "agua fresca" of the day. It's located less than half a block away from the Zócalo. Staff was always very attentive and friendly. I loved the rooms with high ceilings. It felt good to be surrounded by good design.
