Amazing Museum Experience! I loved this museum — it offers such a wide array of art, artifacts, and stunning architecture. The diverse collection kept me captivated throughout my visit, and the building itself is a work of art. A must-visit for anyone interested in culture and history!

Such beautiful artwork! I especially liked the ones from the modern period. Everyone working was friendly- you don't have to pay to get in, just bring some kind of ID- they accepted our American driver's licenses. Definitely going back at the end of our trip to check out the gift shop again.

I truly enjoyed my experience here. Adjacent to the Parque Central, this beautiful yellow building was a great treasure. We were offered a tour of the museum, free of charge. Andres was our guide (we took the tour in Spanish; not sure if any other languages were available). Andres was amazing and catered the tour to what we wanted to focus on. He was knowledgeable of each time period we visited and was a very engaging guide. He not only showed us the artifacts but gave us the history of what was happening during the time period. He gave us many fun facts about the artists and Guatemalan history, too. He allowed us to enjoy the museum at our pace and took pictures of us in the museums "instagram" spots :) MUNAG has so much to offer and I could have spent many hours in that museum. It looks very small from the outside, but once you are inside you realize the several buildings that make up the museum, including some ruins. I would definitely recommend this place to any visitor of Antigua, Guatemala!!

A lovely National Art Gallery and Museum. Lots of natural light and great artwork. There’s also a stunning courtyard with a great volcano view on a clear day. Definitely worth a visit!

MUNAG in Antigua, Guatemala, is an amazing free museum that exceeded my expectations. The space is much larger than it first appears, with clean, well-organized facilities and a peaceful atmosphere that makes for an enjoyable visit. The artwork is deeply rooted in Guatemalan culture, offering a meaningful look at history and creativity. It’s also tourist-friendly, with descriptions available in both Spanish and English, making it easy to appreciate the pieces no matter your background. The staff were all very kind and welcoming, adding to the overall great experience. If you’re in Antigua, this is a must-visit for anyone interested in art, culture, or just a relaxing and insightful outing. Highly recommend!
