20 Best Bars in Mexico City | Condé Nast Traveler

"Mundana Mezcalería is a boxy little bar in Barrio Alameda, a hip three-story mall with fashion boutiques, a vinyl records store, a lucha libre tienda, and more. There's a small selection of mezcals from different states and various varietals like tobalá, coyote, tobasiche, madre cuishe y tepextate. Instead of the usual orange slices doused in worm salt, straight shots of mezcal are served with slivers of tomatillo that add a refreshing tartness and prepare the palate for the next sip. Cocktails and fresh fruit smashes are also available." - Scarlett Lindeman

Google
What a gorgeous hidden intimate mescal bar! Unique Mazals and more known ones. Sweet little place to chill and enjoy the Mexican Nectar Mezcal

Google
Great place to experience mezcal cocktails. It’s located at the end of a “mini mall” very tasty cocktails and apps.

Google
One of my favorite places - interesting selection of mezcal and some tasty food! Melted cheese with mezcal was really good.

Google
Wide selection of mezcal, interesting cocktails, artisanal beers. Waiters are friendly and well trained to explain you the drinks options, so let them suggest you some special beverages. The place is cozy and dimmed so you can chill out and enjoy your time

Google
Cool bar in a shared retail space with amazing mezcal at amazingly cheap prices. You get 60 ml pours for 75 to 120 pesos on the house mezcals also the specials are great. Buy 3 for the price of 2 on Thursday!

Google
Best mezcal cocktails I had in Mexico City. The one with cucumber was especially refreshing, but they’re all great!

Google
Great mezcal place. Try the cocktails: "la monja" (the nun), with grapefruit and mezcal, or the berries mojito. Food is great too. The melted cheese with mezcal is a must for anyone visiting this place, or the guacamole with grasshoppers, for anyone feeling adventurous.

Google
Terrible place to have a drink. They offer 2 tap beers for 100 pesos, but the beers are 1/2 water! Bar tender is not nice either and they add items that you haven’t ordered to your check so be careful and take pictures of your check!

Yelp
After a day of exploring the neighborhood, we stopped in at Mundana for some mezcal cocktails. It's a cool mezcal bar with cocktails and shots and snacks and great service and a cool vibe - what else could we ask for?! It's located inside Barrio Alameda - a very cool, very chill spot just off the craziness of Alameda Central. We spent an hour or so resting our touristy feet and enjoying some very good, very cool mezcal cocktails. I'd happily stop by again if I'm in the area.

Yelp
Decent little cocktail bar in a hipster mall, specializing in Mezcal. The cocktails are good although the prices a bit high unless you order from the daily specials. Bar snacks come with the drink which is nice, and the service is decent. They also sometimes close early so double check before heading out.

Yelp
In a cute building courtyard surrounded by little shops and other bars/coffee shops. The specialize in mezcal and we got the mezcal of the house and a mixed drink with mezcal and jamaica. Both were refreshing. We also had the queso that comes with a shot of mezcal that the server sets on fire and then adds to the cheese, mixing to incorporate it. The prices were reasonable and the service quick. A great place to stop for a drink! It is right next to a beautiful park full of fountains and people skating, walking, and swing dancing.

Yelp
Very cute dive bar in an unassuming but rather charming building that houses some shops! I can't really comment on the shops because they were closed but Mundana had seating both in the bar as well as in the corridor. Cocktails were excellent and cheap! Great way to experience mezcal, especially if you're unfamiliar with it (like myself). The cocktails had nice options and although there's no English menu, the bartender/server was very patient about explaining everything to us. We had the Mundana (local plum, ginger, mezcal), Mojito (with strawberry and basil, mezcal base), Fresco (cucumber and mezcal). They were all delicious but my favorite was the Fresco! I didn't expect cucumber to go with mezcal so well. Drinks were 3-4/5 but the prices made everything 5/5!

Yelp
This is an small low key restaurant that serves good food, Mezcal and Mezcal cocktails. It's a little hard to find as there's not much in the way of signage on the street. My guess is that the building was an old Art Deco commercial building that now holds a bunch of tiny businesses including clothes shops and other places to eat. The food and drinks came quickly yet everything seemed to be made to order. The service was polite and awesome. When I saw that a salad wasn't on the menu, our server brought us the menu from a adjoining restaurant and let us order from that! This is a great place to tuck in grab good food and a buzz while taking a break from the Centro bustle.

Yelp
I like to think we had this private little spot to ourselves, but a good flow of locals authenticated it right away. We visited 4x on our city visit and each time was a treat. Not a lot of English spoken, but the menu is good. The food treats are good, but focus on the great selection of drinks and mezcal. The building is wonderful and after a few drinks you can find some really cool things to buy. Plenty of Made in Mexico shops and a great way to support locals.

Yelp
Mundana is a very cute mezcal cocktail bar in an unassuming but very hip shopping area called Barrio Alameda. I got the Acapulco Cocktail which is a mezcal and kahlua based mango smoothie drink which was tasty and refreshing. They have seating both inside the bar and in the common area of Barrio Alameda. Worth a visit if you're looking for a picturesque but low-key spot in CDMX.

Yelp
Dive bar in barrío alameda. Specialty is Mezcal, but have craft & domestic beer. I had the mojito de pepino. Mite be the best mixed drink I've had in my life. It was good, will have to try and make it at home.

Yelp
Excellent drinks and a good bargain. Walk inside the building where there are many restaurants and shops including Mundana. Extensive mezcal selecion!

Yelp
I loved this mezcal bar! The mezcal cocktail with jamaica I had was amazing. We also had two sandwiches: the three meats and the chorizo. They were both delicious, but very spicy!

Yelp
We came here for a couple of rounds of mezcal on a Sunday night. The menu is very affordable, and the mezcal options are well-curated. I loved the offerings that mixed several different mezcals into one shot--those resulted in unprecedented levels of complexity! Cocktails also looked good, but we weren't in the mood.
