Do not be misled by the modest exterior, shaped by the presence of the gas station below. Upon ascending the stairs, guests are gently transported into a realm of refined dining and heartfelt hospitality, an experience rarely encountered in South Africa. The name Mundo Vida could not be more fitting. The cuisine is nothing short of celestial, and the memories created are destined to linger for a lifetime. From Asian staples such as sushi, okonomiyaki, and Korean beef brisket to Mediterranean treasures, each dish is thoughtfully curated and presented with unmistakable care. The extensive South African wine selection, both local and sophisticated, complements the menu with grace. Every plate, every pour, speaks of passion. The owner, André, shared a deeply personal story: one of dedication, of striving to bring joy to his guests, and of the quiet struggle to reveal one’s true potential to the world. His sincerity left a lasting impression. May this review serve as a small tribute to his vision, and perhaps guide others to discover the magic that awaits at Mundo Vida.

Went through at the tail end of restaurant week for their 3 course set menu. Food was exceptional, and the staff really helpful. If anything to fault, it was that their regular set menu was cheaper than the restaurant week special on the same exact meals, and that the dessert options were limited. Amazing ocean views, and getting a sneak peak of the sunset contributed to an excellent late lunch.

We actually walked in by mistake, thinking it was the entrance to the restaurant next door. The owner told us of the specials the next day and we ended up there the following day. Great food and great views. Will definitely visit again.

Exceptionally good - Food was fantastic - delight in every bite. The menu feels really well curated and every dish is plated with a flair. Service was great - really friendly but also stepped back enough to not be invasive. We shared a few jokes and it was great. I'd really recommend the ceviche I tried and the cherry duck dish. It also helps that there's a stunning sea view. Perfect spot for lazy days in the sun.

The location is perfect overlooking the ocean and elevated. On a busy day there is a lack of parking though. The menu seemed promising as a lot of dishes leaned toward Asian flavors. The flavors though are lacking, especially on the Asian dishes. I would definitely give that a miss. Overall the food here is average, at this price, the food needs to be above average which it definitely isn’t. Disappointing that the management doesn’t back up the service too, I complained that the mussels were served with a lot unopened after steaming yet they were still plated. At first the chef was busy, then the chef was out on break, but still zero response. This after I explained to the server that serving like this is not a healthy practice. Mainly were even cracked open and plated. Anyway I was billed and paid with a tip as it wasn’t only the servers fault.

Mundo Vida is an absolute gem. The menu is pure foodie heaven, with something for both the adventurer and also those who prefer the less exotic. I love new experiences and delight in balanced, nuanced flavours that dance in my mouth, and Mundo Vida delivered. This is definitely going to be the destination for our next ladies night out! Thank you to the amazing team there.

Nice atmosphere. Place can get busy so make sure to call ahead for a table. Food was amazing. Portions are generous. Drinks are a little pricey. Service is good, nothing special to report there. Menu is not too big which is good. Good vegetarian options. Recently checked out the vegan options. Although limited they were pretty great. We tasted the Buddhist Bowl, tempura veggies and mini tacos. Everything was fresh and tasted amazing. The chickpea in the Buddhist bowl was cooked to the perfect firmness. The fried kale wasn't too oily and fresh af. The tacos were delicious. Well done!
