Service was excellent! Food was good. A couple of areas for improvement will take it to the next level! 1. Consider how the sizzling pot mushroom can be re-arranged so that the fried mushrooms don’t get soggy immediately time in the sizzling pot’s gravy. Maybe a layered dish where the mushroom and gravy are separate? 2. The crispy shrimps were not super crispy. They tasted good and portion size was great. 3. The mushroom rice required a bit more seasoning and flavour to really let the mushroom umami shine through.

Google
Easy top 5 in Toronto for me. Mon-Thurs they serve an incredible tasting menu for 2 with a great variety and mix of flavours. This is my favourite time to go but I have been here off-hours as well. The mushroom kamameshi truffle bowl is heavenly, one of the best items you can order in the city. The bone marrow is an absolute standout too and would highly recommend ordering as a side. The sashimi is S-tier in freshness and texture, well served and worth an order. The black cod is another standout and I would recommend it highly. Exceptional restaurant with a great ambiance as well. Here's to many more visits 🍻.

Went with a couple of others and loved this restaurant. The restaurant is definitely a hidden gem and I would visit again. Pricing was good aswell. There was a wide selection of halal options and we ordered (going in order to which I liked the most to least): Australian wagyu steak, tuna sushi, mean dumplings, cod fish, chicken wings, chicken. I’d say everything was good and near in rating. The cake was complimentary for a friend bday and honestly it was DELICIOUS. aesthetic of this place was nice and staff was lovely. Thank you for serving us ✨

Google
I’ve been here twice, both with amazing experiences of the food and service. Lisa very kindly walked us through the menu and provided us with great service. Each dish we ordered was delicious - highly recommend the wagyu beef tartare, yuzu miso cod, and the ribeye. Every dish is made to perfection and the drinks were also a very nice complement. This is definitely one of our favourite spots in the area

Google
TLDR: all looks but no substance I ordered a $15 uni tofu bowl and a $30 A5 Wagyu nigiri. I thought the uni tofu bowl would have a tiny bit of uni on top but when it came out, there was a huge amount of uni on it… how could that much uni be on a $15 bowl? Turns out I don’t know what it was because it was cooked uni and it was like this spongy inedible mess. I literally removed it from my bowl altogether. There was also a small crab shell in the little bit I ate. The A5 Wagyu came with unagi sauce and gold flakes… but honestly the quality of the A5 was not good. It was musclely and sinewy, couldn’t chew through two of my five pieces (didn’t even want to eat the 6th one) Service, the girl was nice to comp my tofu bowl which I barely touched, but the guy who took my order forgot my Diet Coke.

I stumbled across this place by accident during a walk, but so glad I did! The food is just next level. The Black Miso Cod was excellent. The sauce was a little sweet for my taste, but the cod was so tasty it didn't really need anything else. The ribeye was also cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth. The place also has great atmosphere and service is very attentive and helpful.

Google
The food quality is great but quantity wise, it is very overpriced. I had the Australian wagyu steak and it was heavenly! So tender and flavourful on its own. However, it only came with these unseasoned potatoes. We also ordered the tiger shrimps and a side of plain rice. It was literally 6 pieces of medium sized shrimps and a tiny bowl of rice which can only be considered as a kid meal. The shrimp sauce was spectacular but we had to go somewhere else after to actually get full.

Went here on a random rainy day, the atmosphere of the restaurant is quite cozy and the plating is very unique. The dumplings were great, the scallops lacked depth, the lobster also was not up to my standards for this sort of establishment, the steak made up in flavour and the noodles were also fantastic. Overall I would still give this place a high rating but I do believe that some work needs to be done in order to reach excellence status. Thanks to our kind waiter! Went here because of the amazing atmosphere and decorations. The food itself was not too bad! I believe there can be work done in some areas but overall it was okay. The dumplings were tasty, the scallops were not great, honestly it felt as if they were frozen, very small and not tasty at all, lacked any kind of umami and depth. The lobster was also a little weird, honestly felt like this was frozen as well. The steak was good in flavour and texture as well as the noodles. Overall I believe this place has potential to improve and match the standard of everything else. Service and decor is great but the food falls a little short. Food tried: Yuzu Scallops, Muni Crab Dumpling, Whole Lobster Grilled, Prime Rib-Eye 9OZ, Wagyu Brisket Noodles. Pros: Decor, Atmosphere, Location, Service. Cons: Food

Yelp
Got the "tasting menu" when it was on. It was not the traditional tasting menu as you shared dishes with your dining companion, though some items were odd number, so. Smoked salmon was good. Aburi wagyu was good; medium rare was quite rare. Crispy sushi was very interesting: spicy, crispy & soft. It was a great texture combination. Salmon sashimi was really good quality: very fatty & well marbled. Tuna was also very good. There was swordfish too. Crab had a contrast in texture & tasted decent.  Shrimp was very fresh & had a nice fusion taste (curry leaf & lemongrass?). It was the best of the mains. Squid was fresh but a touch overcooked, with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Salad was pretty refreshing. Cod was very fishy but the sauce was very good. It was excellently balanced with 2 opposite flavour profiles. Clams were decent: simple. Harmony cheesecake was very light New York style cheesecake (not Japanese style). The matcha flavour was great too.

Yelp
We come every year for birthday/celebration. This time we came the menu has slightly changed. Miss their a la carte sushi options, and scallop. Also would like to see some more vegetables options like a salad. However, their bone marrow is our favourite. Comes with 3 sizable pieces and unlimited bread. As is their Wagyu tartare. If you're looking for a drink, my favorite is the crimson heat which is similar to a Caesar but less tomato. The service is great. They have strong attention to detail, knowing what we need without us asking, friendly, and welcoming.

Yelp
went here for a date night and had an amazing time! everything about this place was great - from the service, ambiance to the food! we had the hamachi truffle, crispy salmon temaki, yuzu black miso cod, wagyu brisket noodles, rib eye & crab dumplings. the yuzu black miso cod was so tender, buttery, sweet yet savoury with a beautiful caramelized crust - it was to die for !! the service was great, the servers were attentive. would come again :)

Yelp
This was a very cozy restaurant. Came for the $55.00 Seafood tasting menu. All the dishes offered were fantastic, even though some was more so than others. All the food was of good quality and nicely presented. The service was very attentive and excellent. The staff was good at providing details of what is being served.

Yelp
Fantastic food, service and atmosphere! We tried different dishes and they were all great! The sashimi and the rolls were stands but the other dishes were great! We also tried one of the sake options, great flavours but slightly on the expensive side. Overall, it was a great experience!

Yelp
Muni Robata has been on my list and I'm glad I got to try! The cuisine is Japanese fusion with items like sushi and also steaks. The ambience is absolutely amazing and the staff are great. Elements like hot towels to wash your hands are a nice touch. And the restaurant just feels so cozy. I dined on a weekday evening for dinner service and ordered a bunch of things to share for the table. They do have some Halal options which was great, but I was expecting a bit more...there were 2 menu items which were halal, and additional fish/seafood items. The items I tried include: Hamachi truffle Tuna tataki Salmon tataki Australian Wagyu (halal) Miso cod From the sushi selection, I really liked the tuna tataki. This was well done. The fish quality is very good and tasted fresh. The Australian Wagyu tasted really good too. It was prepared perfectly at medium rare. It was definitely pricey though. Overall a nice experience, but the pricing is high.

Yelp
My friend and I tried the Essence tasting menu at Muni, and this is my feedback: At $98 per person, we are sharing this meal that is more appropriate for one person in the case of some of the dishes presented. At other places, we get our own portions. The dishes in this menu: 1. My favorite dish is the hamachi. It was super refreshing. 2. Wagyu Tartare - it was OK. Nothing really stood out. 3. Yuzu Scallops - this was yummy with the yuzu sauce. Too bad we only got 2 pieces. 4. Sashimi - standard fish offered, nothing unique. 5. Whole Lobster Grilled - it was super hard to get the meat out as it was stuck to the shell. 6. Yuzu Miso Black Cod - very enjoyable with the sauce that added to the flavor. 7. Australian Wagyu Striploin - it was cooked to medium rather than medium rare as requested, but still good. Love the different sauces: Yakiniku sauce, apple wafu, pink salt. 8. Zen Harmony cheese cake - yummy dessert, but such a small slice to share. 9. Guava magarita- so good we ordered twice. But for $98, it's not worth it.

Yelp
Came on a Tuesday night and tried their meat lover tasting menu which is available Monday-Thursdays. We were pleasantly surprised at how much food it came with for $58 per person (minimum 2 people). The tasting menu has 3 courses - the first 2 courses are seafood based and the last course is the meat platter. My favourite dishes were the X.O tuna, crispy temaki salmon, baby chicken, and bone marrow. My friend really enjoyed the muni crab dumplings. The baby chicken was such a delight because it looks like a regular chicken dish but the flavours were amazing. The interior is really nice - there is lots of seating, 2 private rooms at the back, and a glass window that looks into the kitchen.

Yelp
Great experience at this restaurant! I had the tasting menu and the food was so good, fresh, and tasty. The service was extremely efficient and made the experience so much better. The restaurant is great for team outings or date nights and has cute decor.

Yelp
Lunch birthday with my friend from HK, we're both in Downtown, search around between us They open lunch only on Saturday and Sunday, great spot to visit and my friend love this spot as well Food was amazing, modern Japanese style dishes with amazing services Definitely will back again

Yelp
Had Dinner at Muni Robata. Here's everything we ordered: Hamachi Truffle Yuzu Scallops A5 JP Wagyu Tataki East Coast Oysters Jp A5 Wagyu Foie Gras Roll Grilled Australian Striploin Spicy Guava Margarita I highly recommend the Yuzu Scallops & A5 JP Wagyu Tataki. The grilled Australian wagyu and hamachi truffle was a bit under whelming. Overall a pretty good restaurant with great ambiance and good service but a lot of their dishes still need some extra work to really give it that wow factor to bring them up to a 5 star, especially within the price range that they're charging.

Yelp
Their brunch is amazingly priced at 88$/ person for their premium selection. Unfortunately they reduced their appetizer selection, and the food quality seemed mediocre for "higher end" restaurants. It is definitely better than any typical ayce restaurants, but none of their items amazed to me to come back for their a la carte menu. The wagyu was decent, but I felt like I've had better (Ruth Chris, even cooking my own wagyu from eataly). I will probably not come back unless they bring back more options to their brunch menu.

Yelp
Excellent, excellent, excellent. It's also good value for the money. I can out feeling very full, as we had one of the tasting menus, was a lot of food.

Yelp
For the starter, I ordered the home made crab dumplings. I love crab as they use real crab and how the dumplings are shaped as thin triangles was nice and went well with the sauce. I order the cocktail '75, the main taste was the yuzu sake, not bad. The grilled yuzu miso black cod was phenomenal. I loved it! Nice and thick, piping hot and even without the yuzu sauce tasted so fresh and delicious. Definitely a dish that is good to share and must try. Initially looking at the price for $45, it looks pricy but given the thickness, portion, and the taste is worth it! The fresh giant conch was tasty too except since it's so fresh, the sauce can be less salty to bring out the freshness. I will come back to try other items on the menu!

Yelp
Came here for a special occasion and the flavours of each dish was very impactful. I had a great experience as the servers were really nice and was very attentive to me. For the food, I particularly liked the homemade crab dumplings as it was juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. I got the miso black cod because the dude sitting at the table beside me was raving on about it to their friend. His recommendation was worth it because the miso black cod was so buttery and melted in my mouth. Although pricy, I think the live lobster sashimi is worth getting. I still remember the flavours of the lobster tastes like a giant raw shrimp (in a good way). I would recommend that you skip their desserts or if you really want to--go for the crime brûlée or ice cream. The cheesecake was quite dry and hard for my liking.

Yelp
Food is great quality, but still overpriced in my opinion. I went here for a date and it was a great experience, but wouldn't come again unless someone else was paying The seafood was super fresh tasting, and all the dishes were tasty, but I feel like I could get something similar for half the price elsewhere.

Yelp
14 of my girlfriends went & book out the private room at Muni Robata. They had a minimum spend of $120 (pre-tax) per person, which I think is reasonable. We got their $100 tasting menu- it was delicious and filling! The highlight of the night was the black miso cod, it was cooked to perfection! Oysters were fresh. Overall, the food was tasty. Service was just as great, they ensured everything went well and we weren't missing anything. Great dinner!

Yelp
Our family of 3 came for a tasting menu. We had had really great previous experience with Michelen star restaurants ordering a tasting menu. 3 people we always assumed to be 3 different guests. In this place, which they claim to be Japanese grill even though not a single person in the kitchen was Japanese ( white, black and brown I have the picture ) they served their so called tasting menus for 2 but charged us for 3. So very unclear system. Also, we asked for still water meaning tap - turned out to be 10 dollars a bottle. Eventually, the food was not good . Not worth 500 for 3 people. The lobster is tasteless and dry. The sources are not representing Japan. For this money, they put the utensils and expected us to open the lobster claws ourselves. I feel my birthday dinner was ruined because nobody enjoyed the food.

Yelp
Got one of the private rooms for NYE at $120 min spend per person. This can easily be achieved. Room was a little small and dark since they divided the room into 2. Our server was great and attentive. Stand out plates: * yuzu miso black cod - generous portion size. Fish is very flakey and well cooked. Yuzu miso was chefs kiss. Absolute favourite * wagyu tartar - amazing flavours especially with the cherry tomatoes * Suzuki fennel salad - refreshing wrapped in a thin slice of fish * grilled sweet pink potato - the yuzu cream cheese makes it a delicious almost dessert dish. Absolutely love * grilled broccolini definitely a great side for steak * crispy tuna temaki Okay plates: * primes rib eye- generous portion. Flavours are standard. Nothing standout * muni sukiyaki - good but overpriced for what it is * wagyu tataki * salmon temaki - tuna was better Cocktail: tokushima- amazing. We got multiple rounds! There's a pear sake that is exclusive to the restaurant. Ask for it! Not so good: * yuzu scallops were over cooked and not so flavourful * rock shrimps * Veggie truffle mushroom kamemeshi - didn't taste like anything.

Yelp
Why is this place rated 4 stars? This place SLAPS. Everything I've tried is amazing. This is a great bougie Japanese restaurant. Highly recommend the salmon temaki. It's crispy, flavourful, and unique. Ive ordered this THREE times. That's how awesome it is. Bone marrow is also surprisingly good. Order anything on the menu I'm sure it won't disappoint!

Yelp
Food was excellent, staff very attentive and friendly. Ambiance was modern and tasteful. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I want to preface this review with a simple six word statement: Do Not Dine at Muni Robata. At its most basic level, this restaurant attempts to impersonate a luxurious Japanese restaurant, but fails at every level. The restaurant's service is incompetent, not knowing the difference between inside the shell, and outside. The dining room is poorly lit , and the music is blistering loud. If you are looking for a pleasant dining experience, do not go here. We ordered the grilled live lobster and the muni sukiyaki. To put it bluntly, the food was not good. Starting with the lobster, we were served approximately 50 grams of lobster. In terms of utensils, we were given chopsticks. No clamp, no fork, no knife. How does the restaurant expect the diner to get meat out of a claw? We decided to snap the claw with out hands. To our surprise, the left lobster claw was completely raw and uncooked. The meat was translucent and still moving. How is one claw cooked, and the other claw uncooked? This was ridiculous. This dish was priced at $58. Completely unacceptable in light terms. The next dish was the muni sukiyaki. The restaurant took an hour and a half to serve 6 slices of raw beef, and a pot of broth as well as raw vegetables. This $129 dish was simply not worth it. The 6 pieces of thinly sliced Australian wagyu beef was nothing special. This is not worth the money. The best part of the meal was the matcha ice cream, which was most likely store bought. It was somewhat redeeming, leaving us with a desire for more food. I hope this review was helpful in your decision to find a restaurant worthy of your wallet.

Yelp
One of my friends suggested this place and decided to check it out. The interior looks dim and dark, but very classy. Great place for a date or small gathering of friends. What I ordered: -Crispy salmon temaki (7/10), pretty good... but thought the nori would have more flavour -Shiso Salmon (4/10), it tastes similar to the temaki... with similar sauce (Black sesame). No real wow factor to this dish -Bone Marrow (8/10), very good with the bread and sauces. Smokey tasting, how I expect bone marrow to be. -Rib-eye 8oz - served with a wasabi sauce (7/10) pretty tender and medium rare like -Austrailian Wagyu 10oz- medium rare served also with wasabi sauce (7/10) Tasted quite similar to the rib-eye. Wished they used a different sauce that made it slightly more tastier. Overall it was a good experience. But wished there were more variation of flavours. Out of all the dishes 2 dishes had the same black sesame taste, and the other two had the same wasabi sauce.

Yelp
Really disappointed by the speed and food quality at Muni which was supposed to be a high end Japanese restaurant. We came here for a friends birthday (gave us a complimentary tiramisu) and wanted the tasting menu but was told that the price listed online ($98) is only for 1 person and you must pay for 2 people to get the tasting menu. The menu is also for sharing meaning you get half the menu for $98. We ended up ordering the nigiri roll, yuzu scallop, 30 pieces sashimi and a few other dishes. The toro pieces were low quality but the foie gras and wagyu pieces made up for it. The yuzu scallop was not cooked right and tasted rubbery. The interior of this restaurant was also not as nice as the pictures seemed online and they added 20% tip automatically. Service was very slow even thought they didn't have a lot of customers that day.

Yelp
NOT RECOMMENDED!! FOOD Quality & Quantity: Would not go again! The quantity is way too little for what the dishes offer. And the quality to be honest, were also way below a nice restaurant suppose to offer. I've been trying a lot of types of Uni (sea urchin) before, even at the morning market in Japan. And this restaurant offered maybe one of the worst uni I have ever had. NOT WORTH THE PRICE AT ALL. Attitude: Most importantly, when I made the reservation one week ago, I specifically said it's for celebrating the birthday and the the restaurant did not have any type of celebration attitude for us AT ALL... Environment: The seats that were close to the front door made it super freezing as well (last night was negative 19. So every time when there is people coming in the restaurant, our table would have freezing cold wind. The design of the place was awful as they should never had any seats even remotely close to the front door is they couldn't make that area warm and cozy enough for customers to sit there.

Yelp
Absolutely love it! The ambiance, the server, the manager and of course the food and plating are exceptional. We had the rose ume, love the sweet rose lychee note to it. We also had sashimi set, the muni roll, tuna tacos, tempura and wagyu sukiyaki. Then we had the desserts, crème brulee, cheesecake, matcha and sesame ice cream with some fruits. Everything was nice and I really enjoy the rose ume, wagyu and crème brulee. The service was good.

Yelp
A must-try in Toronto for me and a new instant favourite. All the food we ordered was delicious. The hamachi truffle and the sushi tasted so fresh. The flavour profile was amazing. And everything we ordered that had a truffle profile actually tasted like truffle. The seabass was probably the star of the meal for me. It was perfectly cooked and the sauce was amazing. What really made the dinner though was the service. From entering the door the service was great. They took our coats at the doors. They offered us hand towels before dinner. I wish I got out servers name but she went above and beyond to make sure everything was great. To top it off, they even gave us a birthday cheesecake once she learned we were celebrating one. Definitely will be back to try more on the menu.
google avatar

Donna L.

Yelp
It was alright. Ambience was great, food was decent but pricey, and the service was okay. We went to celebrate a birthday and we ordered a few items. The crab dumplings weren't that memorable, the yuzu scallops were delicious, and the crispy salmon temaki was great. The wagyu steak and sides were buttery to a point where we couldn't finish it. I wish there was more acid in the sides or sauces to cut down on the richness. The restaurant was kind enough to give us a cheesecake for the birthday and that was a nice touch. What left us with a sour taste in our mouths was our last interaction. As there were two different steaks on the menu, I had specified the size of 10oz when ordering. When the bill came, I was charged for the 8oz which was $37 more expensive. Was it an honest mistake? Who knows. I tried clarifying and explained I had specified the size given there's two options on the menu but she wouldn't budge. The server who had placed the steak on our table was new (she said it was her first day) and struggled to explain what was on the plate and we could barely hear her. Were we at fault for not knowing what we got? We paid for what we ate but I feel ripped off as it wasn't what I ordered. Because of some mistake our meal was suddenly ~$50 ($37+tax+tip) more. I had a budget going into this dinner and I was not pleased. At a restaurant at your price level, I expected more. Your staff need more training and could've handled this better. We will not be back as there are other establishments we'd rather spend our money at.

Lilly H.

Yelp
Decent food right off of Queen West! I went with a few friends on a weeknight to celebrate a friend and got seated quickly. Service was speedy and well timed. Got their premium tasting menu which came with a nice variety and portion of items. The grilled scallops were especially good. Knocked off a star because the cheesecake was very strange tasting, bland and almost watery. But overall a good experience, would go again!

Yelp
This is a great restauraunt for open-flame Japanese cooking... when available! They have a wide range of Japanese foods, from sushi to king crab, tempura and sashimi. The best part of the menu, and the uniqueness of this restauraunt, is attributed to the Robata Grill. This is the Japanese Grilled food option on the menu, and unfortunately it is not always available. I had a great experience having the yuzu black cod and pork ribs fresh off the grill, unfortunately when we returned the Robata Grill wasn't on that night so our friends couldn't try it.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food, attentive service. We had the yuzu black cod and grilled rib eye. Excellent quality of food, starters are a little pricey though ($6.5 for a bowl of salted edamame)

Yelp
I came here for a date night a while back ago, and cannot forget this swanky spot. All the food is of such high quality it makes me tear up:3 The staff are incredibly friendly and polite, adding to the positive experience. Lastly, their choice of music is absolutely elite and superior. Bravo!!!

Yelp
We were delighted to see the level of service, quality of food, variety, and food presentation. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. The serving staff were always around, they made sure our glasses were full, and that we had everything we needed. The fish was fresh. We ordered the 48 peice platter. Everything was melt in your mouth, except the lobster which was rich in flavour, and a little tougher than the other fish, but this is the natural texture of this delicacy. The sauce that accompanied this, was absolutely delicious, thick and smooth. We ordered the fried shrimp with the mayo for appetizer, and I don't think there was anything we did not enjoy, I don't think you can go wrong with anything on this menu. My only complaint is the seating. We were located at the front of the restaurant, where the table space was limited, but this is easily rectified, and really not a huge issue. It took me a minute to find the place, but the search was worth what we found inside. This is a post pandemic gem, and I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
One of the best brunch experiences! They have all you can eat oyster which is so rare for downtown Toronto. Service was really quick and every bite of that wagyu meat was amazing. The dishes came out really quick and for my birthday they prepared a special dessert platter which was super cute. Very memorable experience. Ambiance was really nice. Lots of parking garages nearby too. Washroom is all the way down a set of stairs and may not be that accessible. Inside dining looked much more lovely than outdoors patio which doesn't have a view bc it's tucked in a side street. Would totally come back for that brunch fix menu again.

Yelp
Came here for lunch with my girlfriend. We had the lunch combo, the king crab rice and the robata chicken. the ambiance is very nice and food is decent. However, the salmon we received had skin that was really burnt. Also the plates seem way too big for the table. It was also very hard to eat the robata chicken with chopsticks as it Update: My girlfriend came here again and they burnt the fish and the scallops again...

Yelp
We went to Muni Robata with my bf's family for dinner and we just had to try their Muni Sukiyaki. Their set comes with 10 oz of Australian AA8-9 Wagyu Striploin slices to dip lightly into their hot wagyu sukiyaki broth . They added tofu, sweet onions, spring onions, watercress and Japanese glass noodles into the broth, making it super sweet and delicious. My bf loved the sweet onions. It comes with a side of raw egg too for you to dip your cooked striploin in. You honestly only need to dip your striploin in the boiling broth for like 15 seconds. The meat would be cooked to a perfect medium rare. Then, you quickly dip it into the cold whipped egg and then it is ready to be eaten! This dish was one of the best meat I have ever tasted in my life. Just look at the marbling of the strip! It is on the pricier side but you definitely do pay for what you get. We couldn't even resist and got an additional 10oz serving to satisfy our craving. Surprisingly 20 oz was more than enough to fill up 4 people . I highly recommend Muni Robata if you want to try a unique and fine dining Sukiyaki experience!

Arnin A.

Yelp
Food presentation, service and interior were all unique but nothing really stood out to us - got the nigiri platter, crab dumplings, unagi roll, oysters and the cheesecake. Crab dumplings were appetizers but it was the last item served to us Nigiri platter was good but not for the price - the foie gras got lost in all the flavors Unagi roll was okay Oysters were not the best in ny opinion The cheesecake though, was incredible - my fav item of the night

Amazing gem tucked away downtown. We went in for the weekend brunch and the food was top notch. Definitely recommend the miso cod and australian wagyu. The unlimited appetizers included oysters, smoke salmon, tuna and salmon sashimi/nigiri. Service was amazing; very attentive and refill orders were fast. Our server Michelle, was the best, she was very friendly and even accommodated our friend with a vegetarian option even though it wasnt available on the fixed priced brunch menu. I would definitely recommend this place...the decor were very nice too.

Yelp
The food was super delicious! Highly recommend! I have being eating loads of Japanese food these days, this is definitely the greatest and valuable for the price. The environment is great. Also I love the decorations that the muni was using

Yelp
Don't remember how I came across this place, but it was better than expected. The service was fantastic, food mostly good and the ambiance lovely. Their signature is the black cod and I would definitely go back just for that. It was sweet and savoury and so soft and flakey and the portion was decent. We also had the hamachi truffle which was delicious as well as the tuna tataki. We ended with the lamb chops which were grilled to perfection! The only downfall was the salmon temaki, which was like a sushi taco with a deep fried seaweed shell, for $13 I would have rather picked something else tbh. The portion was just good for one person and the flavours were just okay. The fruit platter (last picture) was just okay for the portion and sweetness. I'm assuming they are Japanese fruits but I've had better/sweeter I would definitely come back again and try other things on the menu!

Yelp
Muni Robata is a new Japanese restaurant at downtown Toronto. Upon arrival, I noticed there is a big difference between this restaurant and the old Ematei. A modern front entrance design, more elegant interior, open kitchen allowed customers to enjoy the chef cooking experience, and all the good things do not stop here. Before talking about the quality of the food, I must say our waiter Ken is a very nice person and makes us feel welcoming. He always check back with us to make sure everyone is happy with the service and the meal. He apologize a few times that the restaurant is out of a number of main courses that I would like to try. We ended up ordered a sashimi platter, waygu steak tataki, grilled scallop, ribeye steak, lamb chop, black truffle hot pot rice, and king crab meat hot pot rice. The sashimi platter is a bit expensive bc it only comes with 9 pieces of sashimi, but the quality does make me feel it is still worth the price. The wagyu A5 tataki is very high quality as well. All the food that we ordered from robata menu are delicious. I strongly recommend the scallop and the lamb chop. Although from some Google review they like the black truffle rice, but i think i prefer the king crab meat hot pot rice more. It has more flavor and the king crab meat is so fresh. Overall, there is no doubt i would come again to try other robata menu items such as grilled prawn and black cod. I really hope that they will have the lobster sashimi at my next visit. It is quite a big disappointment when our waiter told us they don't have lobster sashimi tonight. Well done Muni Robata!

Yelp
Have been so excited to check this place out and it didn't disappoint, cool cocktails ! I got the espresso martini and great food the Yuzu black cod I could eat everyday ! The service is so friendly and the general ambience of the restaurant is really nice. Modern fit out and a gorgeous bar when you walk in! Can not wait to come back

Yelp
Besides the service being really good, there was really nothing good about the food at this restaurant. The menu was really over-priced for the quality they end up delivering. The pork ribs were really dry inside - reminded me of dry Chinese Cha siu, the Chilean sea bass was under-cooked, the crap pot rice was trying too hard to mimic a risotto except it taste more like thick congee. Being a restaurant known for their Robata, it was a disappointment. Please save yourself the money and do not eat here. There are many great Japanese restaurants out in Toronto that is worth trying at that price range.

Yelp
Food was great and service was very good. I celebrated my birthday there and they helped to store the birthday cake. Overall it's a pretty good experience.

Yelp
Essentially this place serves average Japanese food in a 4 star dining experience. For those who are not too familiar with Japanese food, it may seem like 4 star. But you can find similar quality Japanese food in many places at half the price.
