A nice collection of paintings. The gallery’s presentation of the painting was thoughtful and visually engaging, and the overall atmosphere of the space felt welcoming and pleasant.

It’s s pretty small gallery, 19th-21st Greek artists. It’s nice conditioned 3 storey building. Pay attention to the working hours. Cost is 5 euros only by card.

The Municipal Art Gallery of Chania is a cultural gem, offering a deep dive into Greek art from the 18th century to today. Among its standout exhibits are works by Konstantinos Volanakis, Greece’s master of seascapes, whose paintings capture the beauty and drama of the sea with stunning realism. The gallery’s elegant space and thoughtful curation make it a must-visit for art lovers.

Each work has a QR, which is good for dates and artist. Some works have more information, these are very interesting and worth reading. I hope they are still working on adding those extra information on all the works because its very well done. Also, with a QR instead of the fully printed information next to it you will firstly make time to look at the work. And then, when interested you can go to the qr. Nice museum, not too big and logically curated. 💪🏼

Very interesting exhibition, at the moment of a famous Greek photographer with photos from around 1930-1950. Free entrance

There's usually some beautiful collection to see . Nice space, facilitates the enjoyment of the artwork. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and the tickets are a bargain. I'll visit every time I stay in the city, for sure !

Thoughtful and well appointed gallery with didactics in English and Greek. Went during the Nelly exhibit and was not disappointed. Short distance from Old Town harbor and it's free on Tuesdays

Beautiful art works and worth a stop off into! I entered late so I was let in for free but I believe it’s only €4 entry and it’s worth every penny. The gentleman (I assume is the owner) was very friendly and approachable. Even the security too! If you are in to art or ships (or both) I definitely recommend! You’re allowed to take photos inside (without flash) and also a detail that often goes missed… the museum is in the shape of a ship inside! Quite fitting and a lovely tribute to the artist.
