Vendors are quite persistent in having you enter the shop and buy but remember this is how they make a living. Everything is actually cheaper here than the other locations. Haggle a little bit safe a few bucks. All the shops pretty much have the same stuff.

I usually go to the “Artesanías con Identidad” store at the market. The artisans themselves run the stalls, selling their own handcrafted pieces. The craftsmanship is authentic, high-quality, and entirely handmade. Highly recommended by a local! You can find it at stalls 68 and 70.

This is where all the shops are selling souvenir items from Costa Rica. It is a fine place but all the shops have exactly the same items. There is only one shop selling something authentic and different. The prices are tourist prices and excessively expensive.

Very good prices compared to other places (especially La Fortuna and Monteverde) where they were sometimes 3-5+ times the price! So if you're visiting here at the start of your holiday then buy souvenir's here

Disclaimer: This happened to me in one of the shops. It doesn't mean all the shops are like this. I saw a cute doll with the size of my palm. I checked the tag first to see if there's price on it. I saw a 2,000 but since it was in pencil, I wasn't sure if the price was at 2,000 CRC. I asked the owner and she gave me the price of 15,000 CRC. I thought it was too expensive so I said "Thank you I'll think about it." And when I was about to leave, that's when she said 4,000 CRC for you. I didn't stop since I didn't think she was being honest and was trying to scam me.

Not worth it it’s a tourist trap! Go to Central market or somewhere else instead. At the central market I got a chorreador for 9500 colones and here the exact same thing is 20000 colones. Everything you see here you can find at other places for cheaper. ***Update*** As you can see from the attitude of the owner, there is no point for a fake account to comment on this particular place. Just don’t go, if you want souvenirs there are plenty of other places.

The shops all have the same mass produced imported junk. There might be two places that make some of their stuff by hand. The rest of the shops are all SHEIN quality junk. Sellers are aggressive and will stand in your way gesturing to enter their shop. You will not know a moments peace. If you linger to look at anything you will have more stuff shown to you and prices. Just completely overstimulating if you like to look at things yourself without fielding questions and sales offers.
