In Prague for the weekend and my wife and I were looking to go somewhere fancy. Municipal House ticked all the boxes. A truly beautiful environment ❤️. The restaurant is simply stunning. An art deco, art nouveau masterpiece. The waiters are utterly charming and the service was amazing. Finally the food; fantastic preparation, wonderfully presented and absolutely delicious. Bravo 👏.

Goose liver tastes a little salty. Beef steak is tender. Ending with sweet dessert! Thanks for the pianist playing Chinese song - Jasmine flowers! We have a great time there!

Definitely a tourist destination, but I still thought it was lovely. The atmosphere inside was elegant and lively. We came for an early lunch and were seated right away. The tea and coffee, while overpriced, were still very good, and the food was also nice. Nothing stand-out about our meal besides the grand room we were in. I felt it was worth it for the service and beautiful setting.

Read a blog about this place being the most beautiful restaurant in Prague so decided to book this place for dinner. As with most nice places, the prices are higher which is fine. The food was ok, service was very good, the place was full. If this was a regular restaurant I probably would give it 3 stars but because I love the art deco surroundings I’m giving it an extra star. We ordered the carpaccio, the mussels (special of the week) and the duck. While they are beautifully presented, the flavors were lacking. Go for the ambience but don’t expect too much about the food .

Wonderful atmosphere and great food. We had lunch and the service was excellent. This place seems to be like an institution in Prague. Well worth a visit for lunch.

Like stepping back in time to the nineteen twenties. The service was impeccable, the food and wine was delicious. The setting was really stunning. A great dining experience.

It's a pleasure to be dining in this special restaurant, a beautiful Czech decoration and history all around you. The service is good, the waiters are very friendly. I was a bit disappointed by the options on the menu, I didn't feel like having steak but I found some interesting dishes. The scallops are nice, the duck served on a plate with a food dome cover (do you still see this anywhere is quite good) to me the highlight was actually the dessert the crème brulee with caviar is a beautiful vanilla sensation with an interesting twist of the caviar. I would eat here again depending on the options on the menu.

TERRIBLE & RUDE SERVICE - Would avoid this place! I don't normally write bad reviews, but the rude and dismissive response we received from the male host on Christmas Eve has to be noted. I made a reservation for the holiday over a month before our trip on their website & received an initial reservation hold email. I wanted to be sure we were confirmed & to see if we had to prepay given the holiday menu, so I emailed and called several times. No email response was given and nobody ever answered the phone, despite calling at different times during open hours. We walked into the restaurant that afternoon to confirm with the host we were all set for later that evening at the reserved time slot - he replied "sure, you can come in tonight" - without even asking for the reservation name. When we arrived that evening, I showed them the original reservation hold email I received and the same host we spoke with that afternoon rudely explained we had not prepaid for the dinner and therefore our reservation was not valid. He was completely dismissive, saying there was nothing he could do & he likely didn't understand what we asked when we had spoken with him only a few hours prior. Had we known we were not confirmed, we would have made other dinner arrangements. Instead, we had to walk from restaurant to restaurant begging to be sat without a reservation on the busiest night of the year. As someone who has worked in high-end restaurants for over five years, I understand reservations can be shifted & there are ways to accommodate guests, especially when it's the restaurant's error. Municipal House Restaurant needs to fix their reservation process and should be more responsive, considerate and kind to guests. I would highly recommend spending your money on one of the many other beautiful restaurants in Prague, especially since so many of them are kind and respectful to tourists.
