"Breathe in Culture at Santiago's Opera House Santiago's municipal theater and opera house is the most prestigious venue for stage performing arts in the city. Home to the Santiago Philharmonic and Santiago Ballet, the theater hosts many concerts, operas, and ballets throughout the year in its exquisite neoclassical structure inaugurated in 1857. Located in the downtown between Santa Lucía Hill and the main square, a night out on the town to see a performance and then have post dinner at restaurant Opera is divine. For major functions, purchase tickets in advance or online."

A crown jewel of performing arts in Chile. Opera, Ballet, symphonic concerts, all of the top level. Make sure to get your tickets in advance.

Went to see the ballet and it was lovely, wish they had a tiny bit of flexibility with start time, we got just 5 minutes late because it took us forever to find parking and had to wait an hour to be able to enter the presentation. That was disappointing but the show was amazing.

This place is truly unbelievable. I can’t even think how come I never came before. Mum and I saw Giselle, a ballet performance with the Santiago Philharmonic. The spectacle was world class and time flew by. The building is magnificent; elegant, majestic and so well preserved. Tickets are really affordable and most of the seats have great stage visibility and sound. Overall, well be back

I enjoyed it a lot. It is beautiful. I sat on the ground floor. The band was loud and wonderful. It was a little hot with so many people there. So I recommend a hand fan so you can cool when you need to.

I flew to Santiago from Panamá City to see “NIJINSKA: Secreto de la Vanguardia”, a world premiere of Avatâra Ayuso’s ballet performed by the dancers of the ballet of Santiago. The ballet was superb, the theater gorgeous and beautifully maintained. I only wish that they could create a bigger, more elegant cafe’ and/or bar for drinks and refreshments before the show and during intermission. The concession stand was more befitting a movie theater than that of an opera house.

Gorgeous theatre. As it is quite old, the seats are designed for when people were smaller. The orchestra and special effects were amazing. The singers were wonderful too. I loved it. Definitely going again and again

Absolutely stunning theatre that rivals some of the grand theatres of traditional Europe. While the facility is not fancy, it gets the job done perfectly. Things are old and the age shows on the hallways and walls but it presents a sense of nostalgia as if you're transported a couple hundred years ago. We picked the cheapest tickets in the Galleria which presented pretty poor views of the stage but for the price of US$2 per person, it was great to experience the architecture and history at such a low price.
