What a find! chic, stylish and comfortable with a back in time / colonial feel. Lovely little rooftop pool replete with friendly dusty leaf eater little monkey visiting. Martin on the front desk was fantastic, friendly, helped me sort my flights by phone.. a real asset. Stay here, no it’s not the four seasons but for the price, personal service and original style it’s way better! (If only they did breakfast!)

Excellent hidden gem of a hotel in the old town. It’s in an old building with wooden floors. The rooms are big and fitted out well. The swimming pool is proportional to the hotel but is good enough to cool off after a sweaty walk round the town. Walking distance from some good restaurants and bars. Helpful staff. There was a mystery bar that played load music till quite late but you get used to it.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Muntri Grove. I was there for an event, and it was near, but not on, a list provided of recommended hotels in George Town's historic district near the event, but from what I could gather, it was both more affordable and probably superior to the ones that were recommended! We were greeted by a very friendly staff member on check-in, and found the room to be great. It was spacious, with a wonderful high ceiling and ceiling fan and just a wonderful design in a classic old building. The small pool was nice, and on the weekend we were served a poolside "high tea" with local pastries. The only downside for some visitors might be a nearby club that plays very loud music late at night, which I had seen mentioned in a few reviews, though it didn't bother us enough to matter. We'd definitely stay here again!

Great accommodation, with very spacious rooms and a nice historic feel. Well ventilated with good air-conditioning/fans. Staff were super friendly and helpful and we appreciated the local recommendations for places to eat and visit. Key attractions all walkable (or via Grab) with many great cafes nearby. Only thing to note is that there are some clubs with live music performances at night that can be quite loud and can extend past midnight, so would recommend bringing earplugs. Otherwise would highly recommend!

This hotel is located just slightly of the main road and as such, it has a quiet, chill vibe to it. I love waking up to the sound of chirping birds outside my window. It is also located in the town and within walking distance of almost all the popular destinations i have in my agenda for this trip. My room is huge! I love my four poster bed and the mosquito netting! The sheets and towels are clean although I thought my blanket was a bit thin at first but then I realised the AC wasn't that cold so all is good. The little garden outside was a welcome reprieve in the middle of bustling Georgetown. I also enjoyed the free popsicles by the pool. The team here is really friendly and courteous.

Lovely rooms: Chris Ong has done a fab job. Ultra friendly front desk. Bed’s a lil too firm for our liking but request for a topper was quickly met and it made the remaining nights much more comfortable. Special mention of Suffian whose helpful cheerful personality resonates the rest of the service crew. If there’s one gripe, it would be the incessant noise from the pubs along Chulia Street. The horrid singing (karaoke??) was painful. Would we go back? Maybe. Or we’ll check out the sister hotel Muntri Mews.

Our check-in experience was very good. The front desk of the hotel was warm and polite. When we encountered something we couldn't understand, we took the initiative to take out the translation software to translate. The room on the second floor belongs to the Chinese classical style. The environment is quiet, ancient and very clean. There are mosquito gauze all around the bed, and it is very comfortable to sleep! The only shortcoming is that it is noisy to sing and perform outside before 12 p.m., and the wooden windows are not soundproof and there are no curtains.

Excellent service from Ragu, Suffian, and Martin. My wife and I had a wonderful stay at this relaxed colonial hotel. The hotel does have a lap pool which is quite clean. The location is perfect and close to a lot of good restaurants. Highly recommend if you are visiting George Town area in Penang.
