Muret La Barba

A friend recommended this Italian institution in Mitte, which offers Italian food with a slight modern twist. The octopus–potato salad was sensational, and the pasta with meat ragout could have been seasoned a little more. They have an extensive and interesting wine list. Definitely a place I could visit once a month if I lived in Berlin.

Great atmosphere, waiter was very friendly and let us try the wines. Food was good and we got a lot of bread. We ordered the pasta with meat sauce which was plenty however the spinach ravioli was on the smaller portion side. The food was good for the price.

Place full of hospitality. Before your order comes to the table they always bring you as a complement a bread basket with very delicious olive oil so u can start your appetite. Any dish i tried here is excellent! Coffee is great too! Risotto, salat with octopus, salmon fillet with vegetables and fried sea mix are my favourites. Very various wine menu! (a little bit pricey: 0,1 glass starts from 9€, my type of wines: 0,1 from 13€) Anyways you will never regret ;) I highly recommend this place! FOR DINNER MAKE SURE U HAVE A RESERVATION! it's quite packed in the evening.

It really comes down to fantastic, fresh Italian food, a most excellent wine selection, and good, knowledgeable service. Even though I now live in New York and only visit my former home Berlin a few times a year, Muret La Barba is, for me, one of those true and genuinely good Berlin spots. It's where I still spontaneously meet old friends. It has a long history of bringing together high-quality wine and interesting people, providing much-needed Italian wine and food culture already at a time when such places rarely existed in Berlin. It truly pioneered Italian wine and food culture. Big thanks to Rudy and his fantastic team!

The food was absolutely delicious! The eggplant salad was the star of the show, but everything else was also very well-made. The portion of the pasta dishes were quite generous, and each dish was cooked to perfection. They have a good selection of wine as well! However, the tables are a bit small, so it was quite cramped and they are very very busy!

A truly lovely spot, especially during spring and summertime, food was very fulfilling and rich in flavor, service was quick and attentive. I just have to take one star off because yes, I know it’s 2025 and we’re in Berlin Mitte, but 100€ for 2 starters, one main and 2 glasses of wine seems to be a little bit too much. Sharing a bottle would make more sense which is something to keep in mind for my next visit!

Good quality Italian food in a pleasant setting. A very nice atmosphere, with seating outside as well as indoors. The roast sucking pig salad was excellent and the wine was very good value for the quality. Veal pasta was a hearty portion

It was not my first time in this restaurant, because of atmosphere, delicious food and wine, perfect service. This time it was some mess with reservation (I did booking online from the website, I didn’t receive approval on my email, so I called guys, made reservation through the call, but when I came there was no reservation again, but guys found table for us). Octopus potato salad is smth magic, so simple ingredients, but soooo delicious, for sure they have some secret) perfect olive oil with that smell of freshly cut grass. Risotto was not this time on the menu, but they cooked it for me with no problem. Dessert was smth fascinating: not too sweet, also salted caramel, amaretto, perfect mix (considering the fact I’m not a fan of sweets at all)

Fancy, loud and small Italian restaurant in the heart of Berlin, next to Hackischer Markt. We've been always very satisfied with the food. The impressive wine selection by the glass coupled with an Italian appetizer, makes this place a very good candidate for an Aperitivo. In the past, we have been served by a waitress who was a bit too "funny" but overall still professional and I believe they recently fixed it.

Muret La Barbarossa small Italian restaurant connected to the point of selling wine. Let's start with what I liked. The food served is quite modern Italian style, you will not meet here rather Italian tradition. I would recommend Bruschetta. For me it was the sky in my mouth. By accident I ordered pasta with deer, I am not an advocate of this meat, so before I got a dish I was slightly disappointed, but completely unnecessary, because an absolute revelation was the meat of deer in Tagliatelle Ragu, the rest of the dishes so-so. What I did not like that you pay for the wine twice. Once a bottle and the second time for opening. The card is very unreadable, before reach the end you forget what you wanted. The big plus of this place is book a table, you can do it online. Overall okay, but I not fell in love in Muret La Barbarossa.

Ein Hochwertiges Italienisch Resturaunt Abendessen in Rosa-Luxemburg Muret La Barba bietet Essen italianisch an. Erste, die Kellnerin gab uns einen Brotkorb. Zweiste, ich bestellte eine Speise von Käse Mozzarella und Tomaten. Die Käse war frisch. Dirtte, ich bestellte Spaghetti mit Hirsch Eintopf. Der Eintopf war salzig, aber den Teller war lecker. Ich empfehlen mein Telller. Die Atmosphäre im Resturaunt war typish fur ein Resturaunt in Berlin: ich finde den Service sein freundlich, und man kann laut zu seinen Freunden sprechen. Die Preise im Restaurant waren nicht teur auch. Ich gern bei deisem Restaurant essen weil es ist authentische italienische Küche.

One of two Italian go-to places in the hood. I don't know Italian wines well enough to order them but the waiters here help. They ask what you like in a wine and then bring over several bottles for you to try. The walls are filled with bottles and I've wondered how many different wines they have. Also, you can drink any wine by the glass or bottle, it flows like water here. The menu is fun in that it has long write-ups for each dish in three languages. The menu pages are on a clipboard, a sign that they change it up often. Some dishes I've enjoyed are the pork shreds with fennel and orange, the mushroom risotto, the smoked beef, and the list goes on. It's hard to go wrong.

Unfortunately the food is too good for me to stop to go there. And most of the waiters are nice and welcoming. BUT NEVER ask about Berlusconi :) Mind the wine prices too. There is a good selection there, but it is overpriced (mind the KORKENGELD)

Overrated. Food was OK but not outstanding. Disappointing for the price. I've had the risotto with truffles, which I wanted to substitute into truffle pasta... no way, not possible at all. Risotto was so so, I had much better ones. I think for all the options you have in Mitte, I will not return anytime soon.

No price list on the wine "list" is a bit odd but the server was very informative and helpful in choosing our wines. Olives come with the wine. I don't give it 5 stars because it's so loud. Some wall coverings (pictures, pairings, tapestries, etc) would go a long way here for noise reduction.

One of my favorite Italian places in Mitte. The staff is really nice and the food is very good, and very authentic. They also have a great wine list if you're into that. Very good restaurant.

Came here for lunch and had the tuna ravioli, it was incredible! Having just been to Italy, this place is authentic. I've heard the wine selection is incredible too, will definitely come back!

Sit at one of the tables outside, order the antipasto plate and ask for your waiter's suggestion on a bottle of wine.

Great place! Wines are always top and food is decent! I like the concept of leaving the bottle at the table and just gauge how much you drank. Have been there many times and it's always satisfying.

We were looking for a cozy lunch in the middle of a rainy day and the moment we stepped into this little spot was pure magic. The servants, the wine, the soup, the pasta - OMG the pasta! - and the dessert were nothing but perfect. Who'd have thought this Italian adventure would happen during a quick visit to Berlin...

Me and my girlfriend were disappointed. The reviews for this place were very good. However we didn't enjoy the portions. She had the duck pasta and I had the risotto. Pretty expensive and not worth it.

I live in Berlin and have passed this place many times and always wanted to try it. Unfortunately, I left this place again without ordering as the staff was very rude as soon as we sat down. This is not how one should treat customers, so I left after a minute again. There are many more places around offering excellent homemade Italian food and a great selection of wines. This place will not get to be on my list.

This place was awful. Me and my boyfriend went there to have a glass of wine. At first glance this place looks very nice, but we got the worst service I have ever experienced. The waiters was very arrogant. Never going back.

Very nice staff, comfortable and welcoming interior, but bring your own spice rack, you'll need it. The dish was beautiful to look at but absolutely, 100% devoid of any (and I mean ANY) flavor. Completely tasteless. I'll take Alta Europa over this any day. But obviously they're doing a lot right because most people absolutely love this place.
