A stunning spot with its magnificent turquoise waters, shallow depths and some currents, making it ideal for snorkeling and relaxing. While it can get busy due to tour-operated boats (unfortunately), the beach offers plenty of sea life for those patient enough to look closely. Activities range from swimming and kayaking to lounging on your unicorn inflatable. Be mindful of limited parking spaces in the area. Muri Beach is surrounded by three small motus (islets), which are perfect for exploring by kayak or paddleboard.

I wish I could give this beach a 5 star review for its beauty and amazing wildlife but unfortunately my visit here was ruined by an aggressive and drunk local who owns the property between the two resorts and who followed me to yell verbal abuse at me and attempt to intimidate me because i walked too near his property (I was walking on the beach and nowhere his property). Did not feel safe or welcomed here. A message to him: Me tomo mai koe ki taku enua, ka riro koe i raro i te aro`a e te meitaki. Inangaro te tangata kia riro i te vaerua o te aroa, kāre i te vaerua mangere. E te Tupuna, akamaua i te vaerua māriua e te vaerua matauē kāre inangaro i te atuatu. Kua tuatua `ia! Translation: "If you were to come to my land, you would be met with kindness and goodwill. A person should embody the spirit of generosity, not the spirit of greed. Oh Ancestors, let shame weigh on the greedy and jealous spirit that refuses to give. It is spoken!"

A gorgeous, turquoise colored lagoon with three islands within a swim or short boat ride. Decent amount of parking near the rugby pitch. Beautiful white sand beaches, lots of shells and coral to explore. You can get a tour of the lagoon by one of the companies or explore on your own. Many choices in lodging available also. Food is nearby too. Muri Lagoon is the kind of place you see in magazines on cold, grey winter days up north. Usually pictures over-represent or amend the hues & colors: not here. The photos are accurate. You'll have to believe me until you find out for yourself! Highly recommend!

Great spot for snorkelling and any water activities like paddle board or kite surf. If you are lucky, you could spot a turtle!

Amazing place to swim and snorkel. We managed to see several turtles while out kayaking. A must visit if in Rarotonga

Really beautiful beach with beautiful turquoise waters. The water is really clear, like being in a swimming pool. It is shallow for quite a distance, so great for the kids. Nice for snorkeling too, beautiful tropical fish can be seen swimming around. Loved our time here, can't get enough of the views.

Utilised the services of "Captain tamas lagoon cruise" to move along the beach waters. The cruise started around 10:30 AM and it was ended around 3:00 PM. The water was sky blue and very clear water. In the transparent bottom of the boat we could see lots fish movement, when the boat was stopped in the ocean. Did snorkeling. In the AN, the cruise stopped for lunch and other entertainment. The lunch was quite satisfactory. The crew were really hilarious and entertained us with songs. They have talked about coconut trees and demonstrated dehusking of coconut, breaking it, grating of coconut, extracting coconut milk and their uses. They have also demonstrated the method of climbing the coconut tree and plucking a coconut. It was quite educative for tourists from Australia and New Zealand. However, for Indians like me, it was nothing new since coconut trees grown in India and we are quite conversant with all the products and activities associated with coconuts. They have also demonstrated the method of dressing by the local community and it was quite educative to everyone. On the whole, it is an that one should not miss if there is an opportunity to visit Rarothonga (Cook Islands).
