I had eaten so much fish that my gills were beginning to show as well as my fins! I needed something OTHER than great seafood! We asked a few locals and all said Murky Waters. So we went.
EASY to find, plenty of nearby parking if you don't get one of the spaces in front. Cool Blues Dive look and feel as you walk in in the old buildings of this old Gulf Coast beachside city. Lots of woodwork gave it a dark and comfortable feel. Although we weren't there with any artists playing, I can only imagine how great that MUST be!
We were picking up and taking back to eat, so we got a chance to order drinks first. GREAT idea! Heh, dinner was delayed while we had a couple of rounds! Sitting at the colorful bar, watching colorful people come in and listening to their colorful stories had us ready to be colorful with a few more rounds. People, this place is just fun to sit back, drink, and soak it all in. That was worth bonus stars!
When we ordered another round and THEN placed the order to go, it was a 1/3 rack of ribs, a couple of pounds of Clapton sliced brisket, beans, okra, and tater salad. Seriously, by end of the 2nd drink, I was thinking another round, but they had the food ready so we sadly left. I was ready to sit there all night, until I got a magical whiff coming out of the sacks.
The ribs were really good, tender, and off the scale delicious! The brisket was seriously insanely good. Tender, juicy, flavorful and I knew I should have ordered an extra pound just for me! The okra was the best I have had in years! The beans were really good! The potato salad was creamy, soothing, but with enough kick to let your tongue tingle with delight!
