We visited Muro Frari with our kids, and it was a pleasant stop during our day out in Venice. The kids absolutely loved their pizza and pasta — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly portioned. I had the vegetarian couscous, which was nicely done and satisfying. The service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere was relaxed, even with little ones in tow. However, the attention to detail was a bit lacking — a few small things were missed (like milk for coffee or checking in after food was served), which kept it from being a five-star experience. Overall, a good family-friendly spot with great food for kids and decent vegetarian options. We’d return for the pizza and the easy-going vibe.

Google
Lovely place. Great service and decent price. Nice glass of prosecco. We only had pizza.(Many many to choose from ) but I'm sure other food would have been as nice.

Google
Food was excellent. I ordered the white rabbit ragu and it was amazing. I highly recommend it. Prices are decent for the experience. As far as service, it was not the best. Our waiter was quite mundane and didn’t seem interested in serving us. Other staff seemed friendly, but the gentleman serving us was not.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Muro Frari during our trip to Venice! After trying several restaurants in the city, we can confidently say that this was the best in terms of both service and food. Every dish was flavorful and perfectly prepared, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was also magical—a perfect combination of a cozy setting and genuine Italian hospitality. A huge thank you to the entire team for making our evening so special. We can’t wait to come back!

Google
Food was alright. Expected more from this place but somehow the food lacked depth and flavour. Service and the setting was good.

Google
My lunch stop as I roamed the streets from Academia Bridge round to Rialto. Very tasty, lightly fried vegetables and an antipasti platter. All of it was tasty and helped on its way by an Aperol Spritz.

Google
Very nice and helpful personell, great wine. The food was ordinary, the pizza very basic, chocolate cake for dessert quite dry.

Marcia Jinks

Google
Our waiter acted like he didn't want to wait on us. The other gentleman was more friendly. It lost points in the atmosphere as far as vibes.

Yelp
Exquisite pizza and valpolicello in a tight but cozy space!!! Quick in quick out!! Check it out

Yelp
Food here is absolutely the best we have had here in Venice. We have tried almost all the dishes except pizza. Have not been disappointed yet. Not on the main strip but worth the walk out the way.

Yelp
We enjoyed this restaurant for two nights in a row while in Venice. The wine was lovely, the service was outstanding, the food was delicious.

Yelp
Cozy little restaurant in Venice with great food and quick service. They have a nice outdoor seating area if you want to be outside. Pizza selection is great and their salads are very refreshing

Yelp
A really cute spot to grab lunch. The calzone was huge (airy) but so great. It was a bit loaded on the ham but other than that texture and taste of the mushroom with everything was good.
google avatar

Yelp
Very good. Enjoyed the fritto misto, carbonara pizza, and fried vegetable appetizer, service was thoughtful but slightly understaffed. Really enjoyed it and will be back. Servings are healthy and prices are reasonable.

Yelp
When in Venice, EAT HERE! I had the best pesto I had ever had here, and no other pesto dish in other cities in Italy compared. It comes with potatoes and green beans and tasted very fresh. We also had a buffalo mozzarella pizza which was very good. The staff is very nice and the restaurant itself is quite classy. The bathrooms are even nice which is rare in Venice!

Yelp
This restaurant was right by our hotel so we decided to try it. Delicious food and great service.

Yelp
Muro Venezia Frari is one of three restaurants owned by Al Muro in Venice. It's a bit off the beaten path, though it's only a few blocks from the Campo San Polo. I've visited here twice so far, and both times the food was simply phenomenal! Over and above that, the service is terrific, and the atmosphere is excellent :-) You simply can't go wrong with most of the items on their menu, but I suggest you avoid the Polenta with Prawns; everything else I tried was amazing! I particularly recommend the Fried Ravioli, and any of their beef dishes. Their version of Bellini is quite legit as well. For us, the perfect end to a wonderful meal was one of their incredible chocolate desserts and a sgroppino; I look forward to returning!

Yelp
Absolutely amazing food and service! We had a three course dinner including eggplant with meat inside, beef tartare, beef sirloin with gorgonzola, nougat ice cream, limonzella sorbet. At first we took Muro Aperitivos; Prosecco with fruit. From the beginning everything was great. The beef tartare was truly amazing. The butler did the spicing on our table and the dish was delicious. The service was super friendly and expertise. On our give day visit, this was the best restaurant experience we had! The location is perfect, away from the grouds.

Yelp
Found this place on Yelp and then it live up to its expectations! Best lasagna and pizza I have had. The wait staff was super kind and helpful. It was so good we went back another time. I highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Genuinely one of my favorite places I've ever been, especially in Venice. The restaurant wasn't in a super foot traffic heavy area but was slam packed on a Monday at 9 pm so that's always a good sign especially in tourist areas. This place has a little of everything - the starters were great, there's an incredible wine selection available for amazing prices, and phenomenal food all around. Our server Lani (Leni- I dk how the spelling works!) was extremely open and honest with us about our best options and what to order and she was spot on. If I can recommend one thing, the lasagna. We ended up ordering 4 for a table of 7 with other entrees because it was THAT good. I'm still thinking about it.

Yelp
Terrible unprofessional server. Geno. Rolled his eyes when we warned him up front for two checks. The food was priced well, but tasted very average. My least favorite restaurant in Italy so far. We have still yet to get checked in on a second time, after waiting about 45 minutes. After watching our waiter Geno walk off and leave work for the day, we found out that we had a new server. Much better waiter.

Yelp
Walked by and stopped here to eat while we were walking the streets and actually on our way to another restaurant lol! Food was delicious and the wine was very tasty! Presentation on the beef with green sauce was mediocre but it was still delicious. Service was not bad and the other dishes on the table were flavorful as well. Not a bad local spot to get away from the touristy crowds! I'd recommend to eat here and enjoy!

Yelp
Food and service has greatly improved since my last visit. House specialty Beef Tartare was excellent, pasta with seafood solid, as were the salads. Pizza also excellent.

Yelp
Stayed locally nearby and this restaurant was recommended to us by some locals, so if the Italians say it's good it's worth a try. The recommendation was right! Fantastic food great friendly staff the clearly could cope with the English.

Jason A.

Yelp
Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for either a solid Italian dinner or a break from Italian food (multiple non-Italian menu options). Calamari over polenta appetizer was bland and required salt and pepper to make palatable. Pork tenderloin was over cooked and covered in mystery sauce. Hamburger was seasoned such that it tasted more like sausage than a hamburger. Chicken with curry was ok but would not stand up to a decent Indian restaurant. Pizza was also ok but not as good as most of the pizza we had in Rome, Sorrento, and Tuscany. Prices were typical of Venice but too high given the quality of the food. Service was variable with some friendly staff and some on the rude/indifferent side. Would not come back on next trip to Venice.

Yelp
Umm maybe I got the wrong dishes but my experience was definitely not a 5 star. We got dishes based on the waitress' recommendations. I got crab gnocchi and shared some other noodle. Not impressed but not horrible. Crab gnocchi was a bit too mushy and had a funny taste. And the other dish was bland. Sorry that's not helpful!

Yelp
Fantastic restaurant. Jockomo (sp?) runs a very good place. We had two meals in a row and enjoyed it immensely. Make a reservation thought, it fills up fast. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Must return here! Must return here! Must return here! In case you were wondering if I will be returning here the answer is YES!!! My experience here was part of something bigger and everything was wonderful. Service, food, drink, atmosphere - EVERYTHING HERE IS RIGHT!!!! If you like the tourist resto's then you will not like this place. This is not for the tourists. I know I risk losing the intimacy and privacy by saying that but this is one of many gems that were revealed to me during my stay in Venezia and I can't help but rave about it. The drinks were solid and flowing freely for us. The staff was more than accomodating and efficient. We had aperitivo, starters and the best pizza's I've ever fantasized about. Fresh everything here. The inside space is pretty good but in summer you will want to be outside right next to the water. I adore this place!

Yelp
My wife and I had our first meal in Italy here as it was recommended by our AirBnb host. Needless to say, our meal was not disappointing by any means. The location of the restaurant is great. It is along a nice street where there is a lot of privacy around dinner. Our waiters were very kind and attentive to our needs. The fried meatballs were moist and cooked well. The pizza was great and the pasta with potatoes, green beans, and pesto blew my mind! I never would have thought that potatoes and green beans would go well with pasta, but boy was I pleasantly surprised. We enjoyed our meal with some of the house vino rosso which I cannot complain about. Overall, a great place to go for dinner if you want to escape the crowds closer to the city center.

Yelp
Our dining experience at Muro Venezia Frari was wonderful. We went in as soon as they opened for dinner time and one hour later, this place was packed. You have to try their pizza!! It was so delicious....I wish I could go back right now :( Their pizza menu is 4 pages long and I could just not decide so I asked our waitress for a recommendation and it was right on! The service was very good as well....they were very attentive and on top of everything. The best part was it was very affordable. A pizza, pasta and big bottled water...30 euro. I will definitely go back again :)

Yelp
Picture a family. A tired, haggard, hungry family that's just driven 6 hours and been stuck in traffic jams and has been lugging bags and such around in 35 degree heat. This family wants to eat, but where? Venice is wind-y and confuse-y. The family staggers into a quiet backwater. There's a classy lookin' restaurant just sitting there all by itself. There are outside tables. That family plops itself down, to hangry to go any further and hoping the food is as good as the promise of Italy would suggest it is. Out come Aperol Spritzes, delightfully al dente orecchiete laden with Italian sausage and broccoli, a show-stopping squid ink tagliatelle with monk fish and field mushrooms, a crisp and classy house white, and a giant-killing pizza topped with so much buffalo mozzarella that I'm guessing an entire herd of the beasts was wiped put to produce. Now picture the family loosening their belts and wishing they had elastic pants.

Yelp
This restaurant was right around the corner from our rental apartment and seeing as it was packed with a nice mixture of local families and visitors we decided to give it a shot. We had to wait about 20 minutes to grab a table but our group ordered pints of beer and the staff brought them out to us to sip canal side while we waited. The staff was friendly and the food was pretty decent for Venice. I got the pasta but wish I had tried the pizza or one of the massive calzones. I would recommend if you're in the neighbourhood.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant in a cozy part of San Polo. Made reservations online an hour before and had no trouble getting a table. Had a bottle of Prosecco Colfondo which we had never tried. The waitress offered good advice on the menu. We did not have to wait long for the table or the food. The place was dimly lit and very romantic. We were pleased with the food and the ambience and would definitely recommmend it!

Yelp
Amazing food, Amazing service. The Carpaccio is pretty fresh and delicious. Pizza was tasty and the pasta with salmon the best in the world. Thanks Giacomo!

Yelp
Like much of Venice, this place was somewhat hard to find. I only found it by seeing the tables outside of the restaurant and realizing it was a restaurant. Inside, the restaurant is very modern and uses dim lighting to set the mood. This was probably one of my favorite meals in Venice. I almost came here two nights in a row. The pizza is very fresh and baked well. The ingredients were very fresh and the smell of the pizza as it arrived to the table was terrific. I noticed a number of locals ordering some sort of steak dish that they finish cooking at your table. It made this terrific sizzling sound as it finished searing the meat and watching the waiter cut the steak at the table was a fun experience. The restaurant itself is pretty classy but it's okay if you're not dressed up.

Yelp
This is our 7th day in Italy and have amazing food, EXCEPT for this place. My food and now my hands smell like rotten fish. My husband sent his meal back, which he never does, after one bite. They only took $8 off our bill and told us it was our problem we didn't like the food. Manager was extremely rude also. I've never written a bad review before... But I just had to this time. Don't waste your money, to many other wonderful places to eat in Venice.

Yelp
Amazing food! Will not disappoint everything from meat dishes to fresh fish plates to pizza and pasta ... something for everyone...

Yelp
Excellent food and service! Great spot to sit outside away from too many tourists! Very kid friendly. Yummy proseco that was dry and not too sweet.

Yelp
This restaurant is where to go if visiting Venice. The place was packed. Recommend reservations. Food was excellent as well as service. Staff spoke broken to good English and were very helpful. Nice wine selection. AC inside which makes it nice on a warm evening. This was our best restaurabr in Venice for us

Rachel Y.

Yelp
Make the trip to Muro! It was so good we came back for a second dinner on our trip. The pizza was so delicious! Be aware, the calzones are HUGE!
google avatar

George T.

Yelp
Wonderful place and must go to eatery. We have eaten here for lunch and dinner to dive into the variety of options on the menu. Great staff to complement the experience. Don't fall into the over priced tourist traps in Venice, make your way to this restaurant and you will not regret it.
google avatar

Martin H.

Yelp
Pretty nice location with a high quality of food. We had the chicken with curry sauce and it was really delicious! The service was fast, professional and also the dishes at our neighbours table looked mouthwatering! :-)
google avatar

Angela N.

Yelp
The food was very good but TERRIBLE service! I am from USA and service is very important. From my experience at this restaurant, I learned very fast that Italy is definitely different. The server at the restaurant will come to the table only twice( 1 time to take your order and 1 time to bring the check). If you require more service then that then do not come here.
google avatar

Ken H.

Yelp
One of the better meals that we had as a family in Italy. Market fish (sea bass) was excellent as was the mussels with linguine, which my wife had. Highly recommend Muro's which is outside of the hustle and bustle of San Marco.

Richard A.

Yelp
Great food. Most people order the pizza but i got the stuffed eggplant appetizer, stuffed tomato, meatballs, and salad with radicchio and blue cheese. Good for vegetarians.
google avatar

Addie S.

Yelp
We loved this place! The eggplant appetizer was amazing, along with the calamari. We got the pesto for dinner and red wine and everything was fantastic. Highly recommended!!
google avatar

Danielle S.

Yelp
We stopped here for lunch after shopping and exploring in Venice. Our server was very attentive and the food was very good - we ordered salad and pizza and there was more than enough for the price. Two lunches with water, appetizers, salad, and pizza was around 50 euros.
google avatar

Christina R.

Yelp
I was recommended by a friend and it is a must go especially if you're sick of all of the tourist traps. The bread is freshly made, tomatoes ripe, chicken cooked to perfection and awesome service. The place is dimly lit and decor is on point. Don't forget to get the chocolate cake with ice cream on the side (it's amazing!)
google avatar

Jason B.

Yelp
Avoid this place. My wife and I visited expecting a great meal based on reviews. I ordered the gnocchi with crab and as soon as they served it I smelled an unbelievable "fishy" smell that overwhelmed the table. I tried it, and not only did it have a foul taste, but the gnocchi was chewy and a terrible texture as if it had sat out for hours - it is supposed to melt in your mouth. I asked the waitress to send it back, and after a few questions she agreed. I was shocked that it was not removed from the bill at the end of the meal. She explained that the manager would not remove the food, even though I had only one bite. I spoke to the manager and he insisted the food was perfect and I needed to pay. I told the manager that I would write. Port Yelp review and not tip his staff - he said he didn't care. Absolutely the worst service and food I had on my entire trip to Italy. By the way - my wife ordered the lobster spaghetti and could not even eat the pasta it was so poorly cooked and fishy smelling. Please - go somewhere else.

Qype User (ornell…)

Yelp
I spotted the place on my way home and, judging from design and graphic I immedietly thought it should have been nice. It differentiate itself from the many other " antica trattoria blabla" in venice, food was good and service basic and nice. Price is a little high but not too much...defiantly something you should try in you sightseeing days. if you come here in sommer take some fish dish! I always get carried away by some vegetaria dish and then i regret :( It belongs to the MuroVenezia groups whitch has as place in Rialto and one in santa stae.
google avatar

Jenna W.

Yelp
Didn't know what to expect with Muro since it's a super ~modern~ place in an old city. But we dug it! The pizza was solid and the local light beer they have there was amazing. Sat by the window and thought the service was good! We'd come back!
google avatar

Dain B.

Yelp
Solid restaurant off the beaten path. Solid service. Had the grilled fish platter and it was really great and I was surprised at the amount and quality of each (tuna, salmon, white fish and swordfish) and it was solid. I have to say my favorite part was the desert the tiramisu. Enjoy!
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
We were traveling with the kids from the USA. We like the pizza here. Price was reasonable. Good ambience. The servers were well mannered.
google avatar

Anna Z.

Yelp
excellent food from beginning to end! a little off of the beaten path, and it will not disappoint. they have an interesting variety of dishes, but we stick to the basics. started with the clams and mussels antipasti, which was the absolute star of the meal! i'm already wanting to go back just to have the clams and mussels! i had the pesto pasta and my husband had the crab gnocchi - both were delicious!

Reginald A.

Yelp
It was not pleasant to be ignored for such a long time and to compound that with such slow service and what an incredibly uninspired pizza. At least the spritz was good. Compound that with an unannounced service charge (explained as coverage for napkins ??) Give this place a wide berth

Tiffany B.

Yelp
I can't believe this place got such high stars. The tomato sauce tasted canned. Totally for tourists who haven't had excellent Italian food on vacation. Don't even be tempted by the other reviews.

Andy M.

Yelp
Pretty solid restaurant, and among the better options in this part of town. That said, we had better meals in Venice and the service was just OK. Like many places in Venice, this restaurant didn't provide the best value for what you got.
