I recently stayed here for two nights and on our last morning, we were awakened around 8:30am with a loud banging next door. The carpet was being replaced in the room next to us. Since our check out time wasn't until 11:00am, we had hoped to sleep in a little and take advantage of the room that we paid for. It was very disturbing in more ways than one. We quickly got our belongings together and went to the front desk to check out.
When I expressed our disappointment to the front staff (Deanna), she immediately stated, "we have to get that room turned around for other people". There was no apology. I expressed my disappointment again, and said that it would have been nice to have had some notice or warning that you would be replacing carpet in the room next to us starting early that morning. Again, no apology was made just that they had to get the room ready for future customers. It appeared to me that as a paying customer I did not matter; even though we paid for two nights lodging, had dinner at the restaurant one night and drinks in the bar one night. She did eventually give us a 10% discount off one night which amounted to $21.00.
I received a standard email from the hotel after our visit stating they hoped that I would share my positive experience on TripAdvisor or Yelp, or if I was disappointed with my stay to please contact the hotel and my concerns would be answered personally. So, I did email Brian per Deanna and I have never received a response.
If an apology had been made, a little kindness of customer service I probably would not have left this review. Even though this hotel is in a great location for exploring Murphy's on foot, I will never stay at this hotel again, nor will I ever refer anyone.
