Is Montana's Wild Heart a Match for 'Aspenification?' | Condé Nast Traveler

"Inside this Livingston watering hole, cowboys in sun‑faded denim and leather boots sit shoulder‑to‑shoulder with out‑of‑towners tucking into charred steak and fries, while the air smells faintly of woodsmoke and beer. Locals are protective of the place, wary of it being turned into “the new Aspen,” yet the bar still feels like a true community hub where people bond over sports and local gossip as Willie Nelson drifts from the jukebox. When a sudden rain shower blows in, everyone lingers a little longer, and it’s the kind of spot where the bartender knows most of the room by name, including visitors staying only a few nights who feel lucky just to soak it all in." - Jessica Chapel

Burger was exceptional, and service at the bar today was even better. Will definitely go back if I have the chance and will recommend it to anyone I know to be passing through.

Wow...just wow...!!! One entrance to Murray Bar is off the hotel lobby. Lobby was small, quaint, nicely appointed and very comfortable feeling. We ate in the bar from food offered in the restaurant. Food was delicious and fresh. Definitely recommend.

Spent 3 days in Livingston touring WY/MT this summer. Stopped into the Murray Cafe for dinner. Superb!

The atmosphere of the Murray bar is welcoming and exciting! The food is fantastic and so filling. Our server was Sage and she was so amazing and helpful. I recommend the Murray to any passersby and to make it part of your trip!

Ok I guess it’s considered pretty cool to go to the Murray Evidently a who’s who has been through and they continue to attract a “clientele” That’s good That’s common in the growing “scene” towns in Montana What’s not good is the ABSOLUTE lack of attention to service, be it friendly or not (not) Took 5-10 minutes to be acknowledged and we were sitting at the BAR! Managed to coax a couple of beers out of our surly and way too busy bartendress but she whiffed on our second order and I just capitulated and asked for the bill. Fortunately, it was only 5-10 minutes to get that taken care of and we hightailed it out of this “scene” and went to the Owl Bar More on that later The Owl is more like our scene for reasons that have everything to do with smiles, banter and awesome service!

This place is a gem! It didn't disappoint. The bar is lively, the staff and people are friendly and the beers were great! Great selection. Sit at the bar and have a good time!

This place has the best burger I’ve ever had in my life. I stopped in on my trip to Yellowstone from Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. I went back a year later and it was just as good as I remembered. If you are in Livingston or driving thru, make sure you get a burger. The pizza is always amazing.

We came for are last day in town. Afternoon bar tender was amazing! We decided to come back for dinner. The younger waitstaff was whispering very rude things about 2 people in our party after being ignored at our table by the same waitstaff. Moved to the bar and got served right away.
