Great experience staying one night at Murray Guesthouse. The owner was very kind, welcoming, and friendly. The guesthouse was lovely, quiet clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable, I had the best sleep. It was convenient that they provide filtered water stations where you can fill your bottle free of charge. They also have a lovely garden rooftop with a great view. Highly recommend Murray guesthouse!

My initial intention was to leave a five star review, but in-spite of the negative way our stay ended at Murray Guesthouse, I have carefully decided to rate in the opposite direction... We checked into MG around 9pm on a Weds night and departed at 5am on Thurs morning. We made nice with the owner and had plans to come back and stay at her hotel every time we came back to Chaudok to source clothes for our store, around 3-4 times x year. But, after a very long day of picking / shopping for items in the market when we came back to the hotel to gather our belongings, we requested to take a quick 5 minute shower before we had to take the bus back to Saigon and the owner fervently denied our request. There were no other guests staying at the guesthouse, as there had not really been since the end of COVID. The owner gave us no other reason, besides "no" with the male staff saying the same and shaking his head. Again, there were literally zero other guests staying at the hotel on this day. Business is supposed to be two-way street and we did not feel like that was the case with Murray Guesthouse. It was a strange way to end our time here and for this, the three-star review. But, I will say in all fairness, that the guesthouse was clean and centrally located and the mattress was comfortable enough for a nights rest, even though we will not be staying here again due to the aforementioned.

Fantastic value for money, and truly wonderful staff. My partner and I stayed here overnight after a Mekong cruise, before transferring by bus to island resort. Conveniently located within walking distance of main square in town (Grab bikes a bit difficult to order from hotel; easy to find a taxi in town to take you back to hotel. Try the Bin Mam and Bin Ca soups at the park/square in town.) Loved: the self-serve, honour system bar; the pool table; the rooftop garden; the generous, thoughtful, helpful staff (thank you! We made the bus - just!!); the environmentally friendly venue, with water freely available instead of small, disposable plastic bottles; the solar powers hot water (hot showers are silly in hot climates!); clean, air-conditioned room. Definitely recommend the hotel for people in this little corner of the world.

Very nice place to stay, comfortable room, A/C works, clean bathroom. Good neighborhood, walking distance to the center of town, quiet street. Chau Doc is a wonderful place. The host was very helpful planning onward travel and stuff to do. Have a beer on the roof balcony. Shoot a game of pool. One thing: they are cash only, even though the websites say they take credit cards, and they don’t serve food anymore, no free breakfast. COVID has changed a lot of places. I would stay here again!

Had a lovely stay here - great room, nice dining and relaxing areas, safe in room, nice roof garden. The staff were very accommodating. We stayed here before our Hang Chau Express transit into Cambodia and the owners filled us in on the paperwork processing situation over a delicious breakfast. We were also given a very good recommendation for dinner the night before. Would strongly recommend.

After long trip you come to hotel without any expectation. The owner of the hotel meets you and tells you about best routes near the city. You go up to the room, where you will find excellent design and cleanliness. And most importantly - if you want to spend an evening in a cozy, calm bar with a good selection of alcohol and (for example) play billiards - all this awaits you in the same building! We had a great time, thank you!

Outdated guesthouse with very basic rooms. It smelled weird but fairly clean. If you go with a mindset that you need somewhere to sleep full-stop then it’s ok. Comfortable bed and functioning aircon. FYI: There were no shower gel or shampoo.

Excellent Guesthouse, easy to find right by the river, with plenty of food options around. However breakfast at the guesthouse is amazing! Home made sausages in the best bread I've ever had! The Guesthouse is run by a wife-husband combo with lots of modern aspects for example, solar panels to heat the water. Rooms are clean and large, with modern a bathroom, toothbrushes, toothpaste and shower gel are provided. Free water, and a fridge in room to cool them down. Every room comes with a TV and a guide to the area with a miniature history guide. Would I stay again? Yes!
