The Doonmore must be the most welcoming hotel I've ever stayed in.|On arrival, you are picked up at the ferry port and on departure dropped back again. Arriving at the hotel you instantly feel at home and the many return visitors attest to this. It's not just the hotel, the staff are so friendly and efficient. The food is excellent. The rooms are decorated in lovely relaxing colours so in keeping with the hotel surroundings. |The Doonmore is in the most convenient location on the island with sea and hill views all around. |It's so peaceful it's hard to leave but when you do you'll be planning your next visit.

We had the most wonderful time on Inishbofin and in Murray's Doonmore Hotel in particular. From the moment we were picked up by Andrew from the ferry to the moment we were dropped back we were treated to a 5+ star hospitality treatment. From the owners, Andrew & Donna, to the staff, all of whom were so helpful and friendly, to the room with its spectacular sea views, to the exceptional food menu and to the bar with great music and chats. If you want to experience hospitality at its finest then we couldn't recommend Murray's highly enough. Do yourself a favour and book in for a few nights. You wont regret it. And we'll certainly be back next year.

A group of us had booked to go to celebrate 2 big birthdays but because of bad weather forecasts only the 2 birthday girls went. We had a wonderful relaxing visit. The food on Murrays was fantastic. The highlight was a Monkfish & Prawn Curry on our first evening for dinner. We loved the decor in the hotel & our room. Andrew met us off the boat & loaded our bags & brought us to the ferry when we were leaving. So, no hawling bags up the hills!!! The staff are exceptional, very attentive. We enjoyed the traditional music on the Friday night in the bar. We had good weather for most of our visit & when it was raining the day we were leaving we were happy enough to curl up with books in comfy armchairs. We'll definitely visit again.

A week away on Inishboffin with my wife and teenage son turned into one of our best ever holiday experiences. We stayed in Murray’s Doonmore Hotel , where we were looked after by Andrew and Donna and their incredible staff. The food was fantastic, really good, with enough variety to enjoy a different meal every night throughout the week. The service was top notch, with everyone kind, attentive and genuinely friendly. The hotel had been recently renovated and looked great, with the beautiful views from all vantage points. The hotel bar is worth a visit alone, old world charm and world class music every night. We went to see Frankie Gavin and Noel Hill who were playing in the hotel and enjoyed two of the traditional worlds geniuses at the top of their game. Can’t recommend this place enough. The real reason to travel is the Island itself. Amazing history and beautiful scenery. The beaches are stunning, with local bike hire recommended to visit all of the Islands swimming spots. A great spot for lunch on the east side is the Galley cafe. We had a beautiful lunch there after a sauna. One of the highlights of our trip was my wife’s kayak trip where she came across a pod of dolphins. Incredible stuff. We have already started planning for next year.

For a first visit I was not sure where to stay and was lucky to book the Doonmore Hotel. Picked up from the ferry, I was soon sat in the bar eating chowder and then sea trout. Quality ingredients, well cooked. Not given to overstatement, I told them the food was ‘surprisingly okay’. Then locals played live music in the bar till closing time. Not bad for a first evening. After a bike tour of the whole island the following day, it was time for the crab claws, caught locally the same morning. They were excellent. Topped off again by music in the bar. I would highly recommend a stay at Doonmore.

We have just left Inishbofin after a 3 day stay. Have been visiting there for over 35 years and stayed many times at the Doonmore Hotel. The experience has always been excellent, but this year was exceptional. Why? Because they have reinvested in the business with stylish upgraded bedrooms, a new entrance and reception, a refurbished residents area, and a new restaurant layout. The food is always superb, the music sessions are great craic, the staff are always busy and friendly - making sure customers get their attention. Andrew, Aileen and Donna run a tight ship, and it shows. Looking forward to going back!

Exactly what you expect from an Island community. Warm welcome, great customer service. Fantastic food, best on the Island. Friendly and lively bar for drinks and traditional music. Family friendly. Kids so busy, no time wasted as they played and entertained themselves for hours. It's was like going back in time as you strolled the off the beaten tracks. Walkers galore, bicycles everywhere. Smiling happy faces right throughout your stay. Even a storm couldn't dampen the spirits. I'll be back next month for more. Thanks to all at The Doonmore Hotel. The business and your staff are brilliant.

I stayed at the Moon more hotel this week 24th September 2025. I enjoyed every minute of my time. Staff very friendly and smily. It was brilliant to be collected from the ferry BT Andrew. | Rooms spotless, lovely bathroom. All areas of the hotel very clean |Just one comment. We had a walking guide for our group. , while we had a lovely walk over the bog area I thought 200 e for hours walk was not good|value. It's a beautiful island. Thank you for your hospitality |I well be back. Chris Faherty
