Muse was recommended by friends, so we've visited on two different trips. On the first, they were only open for lunch and on weekend supperclubs, but they were also open for dinner on our most recent visit. This also means we've experienced it in summer and winter, and both were very good experiences.
On the most recent trip, we had dinner on a Friday night, as well as lunch on our way to the airport on the Monday afternoon. The same menu is served straight through the day, so you can eat whenever suits your schedule. We jokingly described it as "Brooklyn Gastropub" since it had both English and US comfort foods, done to a gourmet standard (all free range meat, etc). In the summer there is outdoor seating, but in February it was way too cold for that, so we opted for the cozy tables inside.
For dinner, I had a halloumi sandwich with chips/fries, and my date had a spicy beef curry. The menu seems to have items that change regularly, as well as some standards. We both loved our food, and couldn't believe how cheap it seemed, especially compared with London. I also enjoyed a glass of sparkling wine, and he had a draft craft beer, which were both great. Dessert was delicious; I had a cheesecake and he had a chocolate caramel pot, and even though we were stuffed from our mains, we managed room for dessert.
We enjoyed ourselves so much that we decided to have a nice sit-down lunch rather than just grabbing a crummy sandwich at the airport on the Monday of our holiday. I had the roasted squash salad and my guy went for the steak (he'd be on an airplane for a whole 90 minutes, so didn't want to get hungry, you know). I also got a sneaky order of chips because they were so good. I was pleased to see that there were plenty of vegetarian options on the menu, as well.
Food was excellent, again. Fresh flavours, good ingredients, basically improved versions of comfort food. Service was slightly different at lunch, so it was an interesting experience. We mentioned we were in a hurry and so service was quick and efficient, although we didn't feel rushed. Dinner was more relaxed, and it actually felt like the servers cared about our experience, which was a change from a lot of spots in Berlin!
I'm glad friends recommended Muse to us, and I will definitely be heading back again, and will be recommending it to anybody else that finds themselves in Berlin.
