The 5 euro entry fee is definitely worth it, as the museum provides enlightening insights into Bartholdi, Colmar, and the region. Located in the birthplace of Auguste Bartholdi, which was bequeathed to the town in 1907, the museum spans three levels dedicated to this iconic 19th-century artist, known for creating the Statue of Liberty and the Lion of Belfort. Inaugurated on November 18, 1922, it houses an impressive collection of sculptures, paintings, drawings, photographs, sketches, and models.
Recognized as a Museum of France, the building was awarded the "Maisons des Illustres" label by the Ministry of Culture and Communication in 2011.
