Musee Bonnat-Helleu, Museum of Fine Arts Bayonne

Lovely museum with a mixture of religious and propane paintings and sculptures. I particularly enjoyed reading the explanatory labels which tell you not only who the artist is, the year of the creation but also explanations about the composition, the details to look for and the reason why they're there.

Excellently refurbished! Some amazing works here and lots more than I expected.

Ridiculous, they think its an airport, I needed to keep my water flask but they refused..I emptied it in front of them, and still they didnt want me to get in with it, I have a condition that requires me to drink water often. Even in the Louvre you can keep you flask ! I understand there are rules but water should be allowed everywhere.

Beautiful collection and the building but the worst security protocol I've ever experienced. I was asked to go through the scanner 3 times during my visit.

I came here to see musee bonnat, unfortunately the musee still closed and until further notice.... since i just take vacation, so dunno when i can come again to see musee bonnat......
