"Completed in 1888 and restored in 2009, the Musée d’Art is housed in an Italian Renaissance-style building that provides a grand setting for a diverse collection that includes Rococo paintings, Baroque sculpture, contemporary art, modern photography and a collection of regional paintings across the centuries. The museum is closed on Mondays. Admission is free."

If you appreciate art, this is a great stop for a few hours. There are no major masterpieces although the visit is pleasant and enriching. This museum contains pieces of ancient, modern and contemporary art. At the same time they also have archeological and ethnographical finds. The collection turns around the topic of the landscape, especially portraits by the school of artists in Lyon and from the Provence area. Very interesting the part related to the exploration of the Mediterranean Sea and its lands which includes views of the old oriental world. Don’t miss a visit to the library inside the museum.
The staff was very kind. Each visitor is welcomed by someone with a printed leaflet of the exposition, not so necessary for me, but still appreciated. Recommended!

Lovely museum in a gorgeous building. When we visited, the permanent collection was upstairs with a visiting exhibit on the first floor. Charming little gift shop with very reasonably priced items. Entry is free… Convenient parking garage nearby such as Liberté.
Super cool library on the second floor. Be sure to stop in and check it out.

Fantastic place! We visited the watercolor exposition with famous artists. Definitely worth the time. And the library reminds me of one in Paris

The contemporary art collection is a real surprise. The concept is, each master has one piece to put in this collection, I’m really happy to see Broodthaers, and some American pioneers rarely seen in France such as sol lewitt, Donald Judd, Fontana etc. Library has an amazing book selection, staff are welcoming:)
