Museum of the Banana

Very commercial place for tourists only. The main idea is to come and read various info-stands about banana business and, of course, to spend your money in an unwelcoming restaurant or to buy some banana related snacks from around the world - and not much locally produced. You can't even buy some bananas. There is a small nice historical art museum of about 10 paintings

Museum itself is small in size, but compared to it's size, it has plenty of information, facts and history. I never realized as simple everyday fruit as banana could have so much history and variation. Even better after the museum, the garden walk was very relaxing and intruiguing to see everything you just read about growing on the back yard I am so ready to go full Bananas about this museum

Very nice museum. The visit starts in a nice building with all the informations about history of bananas, description of banana as a grass and why it is not a tree. After info about insects and history you will discover the nutritional information of banana and erotic context of banana. All the info-signs are in French and English. Just the video has only French audio and no English subtitles. After a free degustation of banana you enter big garden/ plantation with banana “trees” from all over the world. It’s fun to search the branches of bananas in the leaves. This nice journey have multiple stops with benches and you cross a small stream. But in such heat it’s intensive walk up and downhill. Souvenir shop offered mainly food, dips, banana marmalade and drinks. I personally missed magnets in shape of banana. Good parking (but the road has holes, could be repaired). We didn’t try restaurant. I recomend 👍🍌

The best open air museum I have ever been! It got some new facts about a banana fruits I didn't knew before. They also have some exhibitions inside and you also have a chance to taste banana fruits. They also have a restaurant and the food was there good, where most of the dishes were made of bananas. Of course to go there when the weather is good. I was there February 2020.

We absolutely loved this place! The price wasn't so bad (8€ for adults & kids up to 12yrs and 5€ for kids under that age). The service was friendly. The museum was fun, educationaly interesting & we got to taste-test the Bananas. But, the part we loved the most was walking the trail through some of the plantation where we saw different varieties of banana 'trees' and were enveloped in a canopy of lush green vegetation, wild flowers & the sounds of a jungle. We saw a humming bird, a snail & some small geckos. The adore was fresh & fun of herbs. It was just magical there! 👌 At the end of the walk is a well landscaped area with a gift shop, info movie house & the restaurant featuring meals with Bananas - of you're willing to pay a little more than McDonald's prices.

Free parking. Cheap admission self guided tour thru the banana trees or you can pay for a guide. They also have a shirt made from the Asia which was awesome to see. You can try a ton of different banana things. Such as ketchup and syrup.

A quality place to spend time in perfectly way, museum have both English and French explanation of entire banana history and Plantation. Just come and enjoy the nature view with more than 300 varieties of banana. Also they have boutique to purchase plus decent restaurant inside the same premise.
