14 Off-the-Beaten-Path Things to See in Paris (Updated 2025)

"At the Museum of Counterfeiting (opened in 1972) I saw over 500 counterfeit items collected by customs agents and police as well as donated pieces—from surprisingly convincing counterfeit art and luxury goods to amusingly bad knockoffs of everyday items—which made for an informative and often funny visit." - Matthew Kepnes

Its a surprisingly detailed place and has lots of examples for the price. It offers signage in French and English if you read either of those languages. I recommend if you're a nerd for these sorts of things. Hard to have a worse time for the cost of a cup of coffee

A not very big museum, well curated, some explanations in French only. It shows the fakes that customs have found. Some items are unbelievably bad copies, others plain ridiculous. :-) Visit time: 30 to 40 minutes. Good if you're in the area.

Nah... really... It does not worth it. For an unknown reason this "museum" is rated as a very unusual place to visit in Paris, while in real it's a very poor collection of counterfeit, worth a free visit maybe, or 1-2€ max. Still the staff is very kind and there's a free washroom ))) Also the neighborhood is nice.

Very small, very quirky museum. The vast majority of items are not pieces of fine art, but fake versions of clothing, champagne, medication, etc.

It's atiny little museum in the middle of the residential area.

Very cool. It is in a mansion with very many exhibits, and it tells you a lot about all kinds of counterfeiting! It was great!

Cute but small museum. Not expensive to go in, several rooms, interactive and informative!

A very special place. A touch pricy considering how small it is, but still worth it for its usual nature.
