Amazing museum and the highlight of my trip to Lyon - you need at least 3 hours to visit properly and it’s a bargain at only 8 euros - I visited on a Saturday but it was very quiet. Suitable for anyone over the age of 14 I would say. The collections have signs translated into English but the exhibition is only displayed en Francais- highly recommended

I guarantee that you will learn something new visiting this unique museum. I know I did! The signage is in both French and English, which is not the case with most museums in the city. The special exhibit was not in English, but they did have a guide for non-French speaking visitors. The museum is three floors with a lot to see. It is by text and graphic heavy and there is a lot of reading about the displays. The explanation of the different printing presses was really helpful. I would recommend this museum for mature, early teens and up. It would be easy to spend between one and two hours at this museum, taking in both the permanent collection and the temporary exhibit. There’s a small gift shop with a few postcards and some interesting books and printed materials.

This museum has a rich history describing the origins of the printing press. It initially talks about how printing was done in ancient times using papyrus. Then, it shows the impact of Guttenberg and the Bible he printed. Then, English alphabet font, new papers, magazines, etc. and its impact today.

Really cool museum! I liked both the permanent collection and the special exhibition on jewels. Wide variety of prints, books, and physical objects like presses and lithograph blocks and carving tools. Really cheap tickets, great way to spend a few hours. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful as well, and spoke English.

A wonderful place to visit for graphic design and print technique lovers, set in a traditional Lyonnais architecture building, in the citu centre. Remarkably for a museum of a smaller size, most of the explanations are in both French and English. For me, the highlights were the exhibits on printing and inline typesetting techniques and machines. When I visited, harp lessons were on progress, which added to the atmosphere. Great bookshop covering printing as well, but mainly in French.

Very interesting and well laid out museum with many artifacts from the history of printing. When we visited there was a temporary exhibit on censorship and books that have been suppressed over time that was moving and thought provoking. Entry was free with the Lyon CityPass, but I would have gladly paid the entry fee.

Nice small museum with an impressive collection of all the things printing, amazing for a solo visit when you just want to read all the plaques and dive into the history
