"Museum of Marrakesh, Mnebhi Palace While the story of Marrakesh is relived every day on its streets and in the medina, its museums allow you to slow the pace and take stock of it all. The Marrakesh Museum is housed in a wonderful 19th century palace, the perfect surroundings to show off its collection of traditional arts. The nearby Maison Tiskiwin offers a more eclectic and personal collection showcasing Marrakesh’s position as a trading stop for caravans coming from south of the Sahara. Perhaps the best way to travel back in time is at the Maison de la Photograhie, with its astounding collection of period photos of the city dating back over 120 years. Mortel/Flickr. I loved visiting — it felt like a calm retreat hidden away from the busy medina. The detailed artwork, especially the tiles and carved wood, was incredible. Wandering through the quiet courtyards gave me a real sense of peace. It’s a beautiful, reflective space that really stayed with me.

Amazing first spot for travelers! Gave some really cool context around the sights and vibes of the city. Was really blown away by the scale and just pure majesty. An amazing amount of contemporary art for sale and display as well!! Locals may not feel the need to visit but this is a MUST VISIT for all new travelers!!! I paid 100 MAD for two adults and we both thought that we got our $5 usd’s worth!!!

Did not really rate the actual museum as very few exhibits and very little information in English so we had no real idea as to what we were looking at. However, the building itself is beautiful and definitely worth seeing. Also has a lovely coffee shop/terrace area and an exhibition of artwork.

A small museum, not very spectacular. Some ceramics, some clothing items, some household items, a few weapons and a few paintings. And that's it. In 30 minutes you've seen everything. The building that houses it has some impressive, richly ornamented interiors. Unfortunately, it's not in very good condition and needs repairs.

Rather quaint insight into Marrakech before the investment into visitor destinations such as the Bahia Palace. The admission charge is fairly low, so you can afford to call in briefly after visiting the Ben Yousef Medersa. All information is in French, so it is like stepping back into the era of the Protectorate. The decor is very tired looking and there are not a huge number of exhibits. If you are on a tight schedule you may want to skip this museum. But if you are in Marrakech for more than a few days then you could just pop in for a quick journey back to 20th-century Morocco.

I was surprised of this place, not so populated. Is not a big place but the magic of the middle hall is magnificent. I could sit and enjoy the view and chill. I do recommend this place.

A rather uninspiring collection of art, not very well displayed. However, this is still worth stopping in if for nothing more than viewing the main courtyard which is a nice spectacle and well preserved. Worth the entrance price of 60dh.

Very informative experience. Bought a ticket same day and time and enjoyed reading and learning the country's history and culture. From guards to reception attendants and cleaners, magnificent people and very respectful. I appreciate the toilet, it's very clean and we'll maintained. Each museum room is full of information. Thank you for the opportunity of learning about your history better and deeper. 💛
