What a little gem. So much to like about it. It is small and self guided but done extremely well with an option to listen to audio on your phone or have a printed version. All of the artifacts are explained and they give you excellent timelines and history. And you are actually in the seller of someone who used to be a wine trader. You also get a little wine tasting with it, which is a nice little Plus. Highly recommend.

Hidden gem in Bordeaux — charming, informative, and great wine tasting! We really enjoyed our visit to the Musée du Vin et du Négoce. It’s a smaller, more intimate museum compared to La Cité du Vin, but just as fascinating in its own way — especially if you’re curious about the history of Bordeaux wine trade. There’s a choice between an audio guide or a well-written printed guide that’s actually quite detailed and gives you a lot of context as you walk through the vaulted cellars. There are also some short videos, including one that shows how wine barrels are made — very interesting to watch! The visit ends with a wine tasting, which was both enjoyable and informative. The staff were friendly and happy to explain the wines, which added a personal touch. There’s also a lovely little gift shop with a good selection of local wines and wine-themed items — perfect if you want to take something home. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Bordeaux and want a deeper understanding of the region’s wine heritage!

A very quaint museum to visit. Lots of history to explore about wine and the area. Great friendly staff and even had the chance to enjoy a wine tasting and learn more about the different regions

Lovely museum - deceptive products on sale. This is a cute little museum where I learnt a lot about the history of Bordeaux’s wine trade and even my husband (who is in the trade) came away with some new trivia. Being based inside an old cellar/warehouse really gives you the feel for the place. There is a wine tasting included in the 12€ ticket, just two wines and nothing fancy. During the tasting we were also given Sauternes raisins to try, and told that they were pure raisins from Sauternes, covered jn chocolate. That they taste like peach simply due to the grape and noble rot, and we could buy them in the gift shop. After buying them, we looked at the ingredients which state they are grapes from Iran and have synthetic peach flavouring added, which is hugely disappointing.

Great museum, small but full of character and interesting items! We also did the three wines tasting which was really fun and informative. They also have an extensive selection to buy, ended up buying two bottles, one from the tasting and another based on a recommendation from the staff, great place!

Google
A great hidden gem, yes it's not the biggest museum you'll ever ever visit. But the interact audio is great and really informative. We learnt lots about the local area and wine making. The 10 euro fee also includes the tasting of two wines and 2 extra sweet treats, which makes it great value for money. Chloe was ace!

The tunnel was quite short so I was a bit surprised at first, I wasn't sure if I missed anything. They give you a file with all the information about the cellar. You will learn about the history, how the barrels are made, and see the bottles on display. However, the cellar experience still surprised me when it ended because it was shorter than I expected. To end the tour, they will have a guide tell you about the wine and taste some bottles. They let us try 2 types, which was a surprise, I thought we would try more because they prepared a lot of types on the table. They also give you a canelé and some chocolate covered grapes to eat with the wine. The experience was quite short, but we lingered quite a while at the souvenir shop to choose some wine to buy. I paid the 5e entrance fee because of the student discount. I still give them 5 stars for the enthusiasm of the staff and this is still a must-try experience in Bordeaux.

Yelp
This is a small museum in Bordeaux but it has quite a few interesting artifacts. Things like old wine bottles, (many are full) a canoe built without any nails, lots of various wine making equipment, old business logs, old barrels, and on and on. It's worth a stop just to see the things that they have.

Yelp
I enjoyed this museum. I learned a lot about how Bordeaux does wine and how/why it's different from what I'm familiar with. You get a binder in your language of choice, which had a ton of information. There's also a smelling game you can play at the end. And a small tasting which was exactly what we wanted. The staff was great and friendly, I would definitely return if I came with new companions. Very much recommend.

Yelp
This was a fabulous historical review of the evolution of wine trade in Bordeaux. The tour begins in the wine cellar of an Irish wine merchant and is filled with period pics and pieces depicting the trade. Everything is accompanied by a complete explanation. A wine tasting concludes the tour and includes an explanation of wine in the area.

Yelp
We are so glad we took time to visit. The friendly staff gave us an overview of the Bordeaux regions and a few samples. Well worth your time.

Yelp
I enjoyed spending a couple of hours here , learning about the Chartron area and its history . Beautiful old building with interesting history currently a wine museum . We also had the opportunity to taste some wine and for 10 Euros was quite reasonable for Bordeaux . Had interesting souvenirs to purchase as gifts
