Unfortunately, I couldn’t see the Cézanne permanent collection since it wasn’t available during my visit in May 2025. But the rest of the artworks were really cool and worth seeing. The layout of the museum was clear and easy to follow — you won’t get lost. A great museum experience overall!

Google
It has a big Cezanne exhibition on which was good with a lot of his work sharing the same space for the first time such as the skulls, the bathers and his recreated studio with the four seasons. Big queues to get in and you must book a ticket online

Google
Came for the Cézanne exhibition. Was expecting more Mont Saint Victoire paintings, but was agreeably surprised by the series of portraits, and still life. Exhibition well laid out, with clear explanations of his development and close attachment to Aix. Well worth a visit.

Google
Amazing Cezanne’s exhibition and the guided tour. We were shared very interesting fact and given a general understanding of how he became who we now know as the most interesting French artist (in my opinion). One hour was of course not enough, so I was able to go back and spend some more time in this well curated exhibition.

Google
Amazing collection of Picasso, couldn’t believe how many there were. Beautiful building and access to 2 museums with one ticket for only €6.50.

It’s an interesting museum to have a look at some of Paul Cezzane and other artists paintings.

Visited the museum for the Cezanne exhibition, and it exceeded all expectations!! Booked tickets online in advance and was able to walk right in about 10 minutes prior to my slot. Well-organized sections with great, succinct overview of his life. Beautiful collection of paintings on loan from across the world 💙

Google
When you buy your ticket for a specific time slot they recommend you to arrive 20-30 min in advance. Regardless of the amount of people, they'll make you wait outside until your slot comes up, during the summer this might be problematic. Despite all the advertising, bear in mind that the actual Cezanne exhibition is only a fraction of the content, I dare to say the rest of the museum was actually more interesting than the Cezanne section. Not many seats, sometimes they close the toilet on the ground floor so you have to go to the basement. The ticket prices are a bit exaggerated, try to visit on the Sunday when entrance is free.

Yelp
Make a point of going to this museum to see the Cezanne paintings. There is usually a temporary exhibition of other artists.

Yelp
This place is quiet, with a fun basement. Enjoy the art, although nothing close to the Louvre. You can spend an hour here, but you might not find too much. The works are spread out over twenty centuries, with some modern and some classical.

Yelp
We enjoyed the collection here and the layout of the museum. We are not art connoisseurs so I cannot attest to the quality of the works, but we enjoyed both the museum itself and the work in the chapel. In fact, the architectural elements in the chapel were beautiful, and I was allowed to very carefully take a photo of only the ceiling! We were amused to see that the upcoming visiting exhibition is from our own area of the world and belongs to someone we had met on occasion.

Yelp
You can see originals by Aix's native son Cezanne, by Picasso, Paul Klee, Van Gogh and many others recommendable! (Particularly on a rainy day when Aix is not soooo attractive)

Yelp
The museum is terrible. They really don't know how to handle a group of twenty people. We wait outside for at least an hour outside. And gave us lots of wrong directions. Really don't recommend a large group to visit.
