I am a true perfume fan, really passionate about fragrances. And Grasse is the fragrance epicenter. I must say this experience wasn’t exactly what I expected. Firstly, I was really keen to see how perfumes are made – maybe a small demonstration or even a short movie showing more or less how they do it. But this is just a museum with artifacts. There are a lot of them, from ancient times up to the 21st century, but as I said, this wasn’t what I thought it would be.

The Fragonart Perfume Museum in the center of Grasse and the sales area inside the museum are crowded especially in summer. You can see old and new equipment related to perfume making in the museum. There is free parking in front of the museum. It was a nice experience to understand the story of perfume.

I visited in June 2025 and paid 6 euros for a ticket. It wasn't really for me — the museum is small and quite niche. But if you're passionate about perfume history or vintage bottles, you might enjoy it more than I did. A unique stop, but probably better suited for true fragrance enthusiasts.

Superbe museum. The city itself was a total disappointment. Too many touristic traps. The Saturday market was so sad (3-4 stalls selling fruits from Spain, not even locally sourced items). However, the museum was a great surprise. There is a 90min visit (in French) at 3 euros which is amazing (11am in summer). The guide was super knowledgeable and friendly. Totally recommend (more than the Fragonard one).

If you're even "thinking" about visiting Grasse—the perfume capital of the world—then you absolutely "cannot" miss the "Musée International de la Parfumerie"! This place is an absolute gem, and we couldn’t have asked for a better start to our fragrance journey. What makes this museum so special? Well, it’s not just about "looking" at exhibits—it’s a full sensory experience! You’ll *see*, *hear*, and most importantly, *smell* your way through the fascinating history of perfumery. And the best part? The museum gives you an unbiased, educational deep-dive—no brand hype, just pure perfume passion. Now, here’s where our visit went from great to "unforgettable": we were lucky enough to get a kind of a "private tour" with the incredible "Marie", our guide. Not many visitors on that day, so she did the tour only for us. Honestly, she’s an absolute treasure! Her knowledge was astounding, her storytelling was captivating, and her enthusiasm was infectious. It’s clear she "loves" what she does, and her ability to explain everything in perfect English with her lovely French accent made the experience even better. Marie deserves every bit of praise—trust us. You'd be just as impressed as we were! So, if you’re heading to Grasse (or even just "considering" it), do not skip this museum. Whether you’re a perfume fanatic or just curious, you’ll leave with a whole new appreciation for the art of fragrance. Go, smell, learn, and fall in love with perfumery! You won’t regret it. Rating: 5 stars out of 5

The Museum of Perfume in Grasse is an absolute "must-see" for all perfume lovers and anyone interested in the fascinating world of perfumery. The museum provides a detailed and immersive insight into the history of perfumes and the art of perfumery. From ancient techniques to modern innovations, the exhibits are beautifully curated to educate and inspire visitors of all ages. One of my favorite parts was the timeline showcasing the release of iconic perfumes. This was my second visit to the museum after several years, and I was delighted to discover new points of interest and fresh perspectives. It truly feels like a place where there is always something new to learn and explore. If you’re passionate about scents or simply curious about how perfumes have shaped art and culture over centuries, this museum is a perfect destination. Highly recommended!
