Nice but small museum. If you have some extra time I would recommend going there. Photos are described in French and Arabic but if you scan the code you can read an English version as well.

Beautiful place, a bit far from city center, which makes it hard to get to, compared to the Other museums in Rabat. But it deserve a visit. The fort is magnificent, the location on the coast adds some magic to the scenary. As for the museum, it is not the best I've visited so far. The Exhibitions are not enough for the national museum of photography. It has a lot of room for improvements, adding more photographs and maybe openning up more places in the Forteress would make it among the best. I had the chance to visit during Kourtna Exposition, which was about Moroccan football and the passion of Moroccan people for it. To be honnest it was awesome, and added a lot life and charm to the museum. Finally, Of course I am giving it a 5/5 because it is not only an incredible fort fron 19th century, but also it is home to the national museum of photography.

It's a museum? I didn't walk by the street side, as I just explored the lovely castle-like exterior!! With great viewing areas, cannons, and all an unexpected surprise!! ....as another says, it should be free entry! So no review from me for the museum side. But if passing nearby! It's worth a detour to see, and wander around the outer grounds.

Very impressive photo exhibit of the history of Moroccan people but most of it was in black and white which I am not a big fan of. But the huge close-up photos of the Olympian athletes displayed outside were outstanding! Nice setting by the water too and an interesting building with lots of dark hallways.

A historic site with a glorious past, renovated by the state, now attracts many visitors, both Moroccan and foreign. Admission is free for visitors on Fridays.

Located halfway between the Rabat lighthouse and the old military hospital, Fort Rottembourg, Fort Hervé or Borj El Kebir, is a fortification erected at the end of the 19th century on the Rabat corniche to house two cannons of 30 tons from Hamburg and offered by the Germans.
