"With Monaco facing the Mediterranean, it is no wonder Prince Albert I was passionate about marine biology and conservation. Looking to promote marine sciences and educate others, the prince opened the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco in 1910. There are now more than 6,000 fish, as well as a shark lagoon and an important collection of live coral. Still dedicated to ocean conservation, the museum works closely with scientists and artists to inspire public interest."

My favourite place in the world! Beautiful building on the side of the cliff, price was 22 euro for an adult but well worth it, especially if you have never been before. Large clean tanks and animals look well cared for. New digital installation which the nephews loved. Make sure you go to the rooftop for the panoramic views! Lush clear blue sea and fab views of the boats and port.

A Must-See in Monaco! Situated in a stunning historical building right opposite the Prince’s Palace, this well-designed aquarium offers a fascinating glimpse into marine life — it really has a bit of everything. From massive tanks with colourful fish to sharks, graceful turtles, and mesmerizing jellyfish 🐟, there’s something to capture the attention of all ages. You can explore it in about one to two hours, depending on how long you linger at each tank. On a super hot day, it’s slightly cooler inside — a welcome break from the heat, even if not fully air-conditioned. A bonus is the location — there are some great places for lunch nearby that are not too overpriced, making it easy to turn your visit into a relaxed day out. You can even buy multi-tickets, which allow you to visit the aquarium and the castle, making for a perfect combination of history, culture, and nature in one trip. Whether you’re in Monaco for a quick visit or a longer stay, this spot is a fantastic family-friendly experience that blends history, education, and the wonder of the ocean.

Small, but great aquarium at the top of a mountain. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water for the walk up and up and up the incline to reach the aquarium. Most of the people going up to the museum stopped to rest and enjoy the view about midway up. I believe there is a little train/tram... wish I had known before the exhausting climb.

A fascinating museum in a beautiful location overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. This museum is also home to the Monaco Oceanographic Institute and highlights the country's commitment to ocean conservation. The upper floors have exhibits about the history of oceanographic research and current Mediterranean undersea exploration. The lower floors contain an aquarium and marine life exhibits. I really enjoyed learning about the progression of ocean research technology and techniques used to study the ocean. I also liked the immersive undersea exploration experience on display when I visited. If you love ocean and/or city views, be sure to visit the rooftop, where you can get 360° views of Monaco and the Mediterranean. There is also a full restaurant, children's playground, and snack bar on the roof. This was a fun museum with something for people of all ages. The only downside was that I don't think the museum has air conditioning. I visited on a warm April day, as it was uncomfortably warm inside. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket booth next to the front door, no reservation needed. You can also buy a combo ticket which includes the Prince's Palace for a discounted rate.

Overall it is a nice aquarium but some of the tanks were a bit small in my opinion. Worth a visit and the surrounding area is worth a tour on foot to see the older buildings. There is a large terrace with great views over the old town and harbour and also a cafe on the top floor.

Visited on a Saturday late afternoon around closing time. There was no one in the tickets queue. The museum is rather small will limited exhibits. Might be more suitable for families with small children. The location is nice to take a stroll atop the rock, and have a drink or a bite nearby. The royal palace is nearby so I would suggest to have a combo visit. Parking space is amble and modern.

Located at Av. Saint-Martin, 98000 Monaco 🇲🇨. This museum is a fascinating mixture of educational fun, conservation and the views from the rooftop terrace are amazing, it’s a lovely spot to take in the view of Monaco and the coastline and enjoy a drink or something to eat. The displays in the exhibits are very impressive, they are excellently curated and the range of marine life is very diverse. The aquariums seemed to be very well maintained. The building itself is a stunning piece of architecture. It’s gorgeous. The aquarium is open every day from 10.00am until 6.00pm. Ticket prices - Adult (18 years and over) €20.50 Children (4-17 years) €13.00 I think it’s possibly the best venue for an aquarium I have seen. The views cannot be beaten. The Polar exhibit was fascinating. I absolutely loved it. I would absolutely recommend. Thumbs up!!! 👍👍👍

On the lower floors, you’ll find many different aquariums with rare fish, and on the upper floors, interactive experiences. In particular, the tour that felt like being inside a submarine, with incredibly realistic screens surrounding the room, was fantastic. If you’re in Monaco, it’s an experience you must have!
