An 18 room art museum that came as part.of a multi pass tourist pass that we purchased for €15 which gives you access to 4 monuments and 2 museums. We didn't know many of the artists, except for Picasso. Amazing to see some of his original artworks in person. There were some rooms at the end that housed some modern sculptures, art and a sound room that weren't really our vibe. A great mix of art through the ages and we are glad we came.

Built in the 1400s for The Priority of the Order of Malta and was sold to the Arles artist Jacque Reattu in 1793. Reattu’s daughter Elisabeth acquired the building and sold his collection and the building to the city of Arles in 1867. There are over 800 pieces by Reattu, drawings by Picasso, paintings by Antoine Raspel and many sculptures and a collection of over 4000 photographs. A very extensive art collection. Allow at least an hour or more. Highly recommend.

The painter Jacques Réattu's work is worth discovering and admiring it, but even the museum itself is a beautiful historic building. Don't miss it if you're in Arles and interested in art. Very nice place!

I enjoyed this museum. There are many interesting paintings and drawings from the 20th and 21th centuries. I also loved a temporary exhibition of sound art installations place among the pictures. It's a kinda small museum so you don't need to spend the hours to visit it all. What should be improved: the panels are in French and they should at least add English translations. I had to use Google Lens on my phone to understand some descriptions.

A bit of a shrine to the family that established the museum, the Réattu with a sprinkling of modern art and some late works of Picasso. The audio guide is essential if you are not a French speaker, but its average among audio guides and some of the clips are quite long. The building is beautiful and there’s a decent shop on site but if your short on time, you can probably skip this site.

This is a small but very charming museum. The old (if not ancient) building has an interesting layout and the museum often showcases a playful mix of modern and classical art. From some of the rooms you also get a pretty view over the river. Worth the visit!

Beautiful museum with some nice pieces from Picasso (24.09.22). Great artworks in metal, wood as well as some audio works.

It’s a great medieval museum space with lots of artworks from different era curated smartly. It also houses some if Picasso’s works.

Yelp
We did not enjoy this restaurant. First of all, the museum is not stroller friendly so if you have small kids, you either have to make them walk or carry them. The museum in itself is like a maze. The doors to some of the exhibits are locked so you have to meander around to find the correct entrance. The format of the museum was kind of confusing. The art exhibits also didn't make much sense. I didn't understand the theme of the art and couldn't grasp the connection between the pieces. Perhaps it is because of a language barrier that I didn't get the concept of this museum. They had photography in one room and then some Picasso pieces in another. It was all kind of disconnected and confusing.
